Chrysolite looked around watching what she had done. The bridge was badly damaged, almost torn into two like a pen. Vehicles were wreaked and turned into giant balls. What had she done? She looked back at Sardius then started towards the cars that had squashed her grandma. She knelt to touch the blood poring out from beneath the cars. She stood up again, frightened by what she saw. "Did I kill her, Sardius?" She asked lost in thoughts. She looked back at her mother who was staring at her from afar. "It wasn't your fault Chrysolite." Sardius said to her. "Then, whose fault is it?" She asked back. "All these......vehicles... they're my doing. My granny died because of me, I killed my grandmother." "Chrys.....," Sardius stepped closer. "Don't. Don't come any closer. Let me rather die." She said to him, moved towards the edge of the bridge then fell into the sea. "You cannot die by the sea. You're part of it." Sardius mumbled but she was already far gone. ******* Ashley collected the newspaper from her twin as she looked up at Mary-Jane who had given it to them. "I could hardly believe it when Mary exploded the news in the classroom." Mary-Jane said to them. "Of course, it's true." Jasmine said rolling her eyes. "Yeah but you know Chrysolite too well. She's a sweet girl who would never hurt a fly. She's your friend, you should all know that." Mary-Jane went on. Mary-Jane went on to explain the case where Mary had stolen Ashley's wristwatch and had framed Chrysolite and how Chrysolite had stood her ground even in the face of false accusations. "If Chrysolite had known her true self, she wouldn't have hidden it from you guys. She love to protect her friendship no matter the cause." Jasmine scoffed at that while the others saw the truth in what Mary-Jane had said. "I agree with you." Michael said to Mary-Jane. "At the fountain of water, when I told Chrysolite that she had reds in her hair, she had laughed me off and had made fun of it." "She could have been pretending." Jasmine put in. "Chrysolite doesn't know who she is and where's she from. If she had known her ancestral history, this wouldn't have happened." Ashley nodded at that. "Remember the day she turned into a fish, she was all moody all morning." Ashley put in. Jasmine and Michael nodded to that. "But Sardius failed in telling us, he only concealed it from her but didn't help her in any way. Now, we can't see either of them." Jasmine said. "You guys need to be there for her. She's your friend no matter what. I really do admire Chrysolite and I like her no matter what she she is." Mary-Jane said to them, smiled and turned away. Ashley turned to the others and asked, "Mary-Jane is right. Chrysolite was never a bad person. She needs us right now. Who's ready to help Chrysolite?" ******* As Chrysolite sunk low beneath the tides, her eyes opened and she saw the magnificent kingdom before her. She gasped at it astounding beauty as mermaids and mermen swam by. One stopped as she recognized her. Her name was Sapphire. She was stunned but galdly took Chrysolite's hand and led her to Amethyst. "Do you know me?" Chrysolite questioned as they swam. "Of course. You're Onyx daughter, granddaughter of Queen Corral Marble." Sapphire replied her. And as they swam in, the other mermen and mermaids began to notice how stunning she was. Red hairs were rare in the water kingdom. "Make way!!! She's royalty!!!" Sapphire yelled as she waved the onlookers. Chrysolite suddenly became so shy. "I'm not all royalty." She said to Sapphire. "Oh, I think you need to know your ancestral history so that you can get to understand who you really are. Your granny, bless the Queen was a well loved Queen. Her genes are passed down to you." Sapphire explained. Soon, they arrived at the palace and the palace guards let them in. A natural red haired mermaid was talking to a little black headed boy, his father was smiling down at him. That could be Sapphire's son, Chrysolite had guessed. "Your highness!!" Sapphire called out. Amethyst turned to see Sapphire and..... Chrysolite! She hadn't expected to see Chrysolite so soon. The waters had been troubled? Was it because of her? "Dad, who's that?" The little merboy asked. "She's your Queen, Topaz." Sapphire answered smiling at him. ***** "We knew about the Queen's death, she herself knew that her death was eminent. I didn't think it would be seeing you this soon." Amethyst placed a scepter by the throne. "I killed her." Chrysolite mumbled. "You didn't Chrysolite. It was meant to happen, it was fate. All that is left for you is for you to accept the way you truly are." "But all this could have been averted." "It could have but there's a lesson to learn here. Don't break yourself than you already have." "And what will happen to me eventually once I get to accept myself for who I truly am?" Chrysolite asked. "You can control your powers at will. You're strong and powerful Chrysolite. You can be who are if you accept who you truly are." "How can I when I've only just killed your Queen?" Chrysolite looked so downcasted. "Now, that's the starting point Chrysolite. You mustn't see yourself as the cause of your Granny's death." Amethyst picked up a purplish-gold trident to show her. "What's that?" Chrysolite reached out to touch it. "Your mother's. She came to earth to look for this then she fell in love with your father." Amethyst smiled at her. Her hair gave her such radiance that one would think that she was Chrysolite's aunt. "I never heard of the story." "I would be delighted to tell you the story. But you must leave for home soon, your family and friends awaits your return." Amethyst said to her in a calm, soothing voice. ******* Sardius stood up, dusting the sands from his butts and hands. He was exhausted already. His mother had begged him to return home. Probably, Chrysolite was never coming back. The sun was setting, as much as he longed for home, he missed Chrysolite. He looked up towards the shore and saw a figure in a tortoise dress walking up to him. His heart skipped a beat then began to this thunderously. "Chrysolite?" He called out. "Sardius!" She raced into his arms excitedly and embraced him. She was back, finally. He thought he would never see her again as it was two days she had been far gone. She touched his face as she looked at him. "Tell me what you told me on the bridge." He suddenly grew red in the cheeks, recalling how he had confessed his feelings to her. He knew that that was what she was referring to. "I like you Chrysolite..," he blushed. She giggled which surprised him. "I like you too Sardius." Then she held his hand. "Who gave you the pearls?" He asked referring to the necklace around her neck. "Amethyst. My Granny's appointed Queen." Sardius laughed, hearing such a name. "Isn't that a funny name?" "I met Sapphire, very lovely. She have a son named Topaz, her husband, Jasper. You need to see the mermaid kingdom, so magnificent!!" She exclaimed. "Wow.." Sardius couldn't hold back his laughter. "What would you like to call our child if it were a boy?" She stopped to look at him. Sardius nearly swallowed his tongue when he heard that. "We are getting married?" He was stunned by her question. "Not now, in the future." She playfully smack him on his shoulder. "I'll call him Jacinth probably." He answered her, his eyes glowing with excitement. "I like Jacinth." She nodded. "And if it were a girl, what would you call her?" He played along. "Pearl Marble." She smiled in remembrance of her grandmother. "I do love it, I really do." He smiled at her. "Let's go home Sardius, everyone is waiting." She gripped his hand firmly smiling at him. He returned her smile as he took hold of her hand.
