Chapter 33 - Stolen Kiss

I
True to his promise to Shandall and accepting her reasons as valid enough, the young Doctor keeps his mouth shut. He also wanted to protect his patient, should his life has been at risk. He returned the next morning to the beach resort of Shandall when he was being picked up by the woman’s driver and bodyguard.
Inside the guestroom, Shandal took a sit on the chair beside the bed where their unexpected guest is still sleeping soundly. Her eyes never leave the handsome face of the man, whom she knew now as Seigfred Yee, a billionaire, who owns an international real estate company. She could not take her eyes away from his nose down to his inviting lips. She could even imagine, how it is to be kissed by such manly lips. She moved her chair nearer to the bed and stretched her right hand. She caressed his face and traced his nose and his lips with her fingers. Unable to control herself, she moved her head nearer and lowered it down, kissing his waiting lips.
Shandall suddenly moved her head up when she heard some footsteps coming nearer to the guestroom. She moved away from her chair again and straightened her body while waiting for that someone walking nearby to enter the guestroom.
When the face of the young doctor popped out into the door together with Aling Matina, Shandall was already in a relaxed mode, as if she did nothing shameful a while ago.
“Doctor, good morning.” Shandall immediately greeted the young doctor as she stood up from the chair she was sitting in.
“Hello Ms. Shandall; how is our patient?” the young doctor asked smiling. He walked near the dextrose bag and immediately removed it when he saw that the content thereof was just good for a few drops.
With expertise, he also removed the needle on Seigfred’s hand and put cotton with a bit of alcohol on the small wound where the needle has been put. He then checked the forehead of the patient to determine if he has still fever.
When the young doctor smiled after checking everything with Seigfred, a sigh of relief pass through Shandall’s lungs.
“He is fine now Doctor, right?” she asked, wanting to still confirm what she guessed, from the Doctor.
The young doctor nodded. “Yes, he is fine now. In a minute, he might open his eyes already,” he said while looking at the man lying on the bed.
“You mean doctor, he will wake up any time now?” she further asked, somewhat excited.
“Yes, Ms. Shandall. I will stay for a little while until the time that he wakes up to determine if everything is really just fine with him.” The doctor added.

“Doc, let us have coffee first. Aling Matina, please take a look for our patient in a while.” Shandall suddenly remembered to offer to the young and kind doctor.
“Oh, that would be nice Ms. Shandall. I have not taken any coffee yet this morning, so your suggestion is highly acceptable.” He smiled at Shandall and the latter noticed that the young doctor is also that charming and with a sort of manly appeal especially his brown eyes and his square jaw.
Shandall smiled back and walked gently out of the guest’s room together with the young doctor.
As they were drinking coffee, Shandall noticed the look that the young doctor was giving her. “Yes, doctor, you want to ask something from me? I can feel that you have something in your mind,” she asked teasingly.
The young doctor smiled and nodded. “I just wanted to know, how long will you be staying in your resort? Aling Matina boasted to me that you are a good novelist and I really wanted to read some of your novels,” he said softly while looking at her.
“Oh, maybe until I finished my book, so I guess around two to three weeks.” Somewhat interested now, Shandall takes a look again at the young doctor in front of her and then down to his fingers.
The young doctor smiled noticing her when she suddenly looked at his fingers.
He held his hands up and said, “I have no marriage ring yet Ms. Shandall, if that was what you were looking for.”
Shandall chuckled and gave him a look with raised eyebrows. She was about to say something but Aling Matina came rushing.
“Doctor he already opened his eyes and he was asking for water!” she exclaimed.
The young doctor automatically stood up and walked briskly, going to the guest room while Shandall’s feet seemed to have rooted to where she stood up after getting up from her chair.
