Mr Okechukwu met his very close friend in his office in a police station. His name was Mr Babatunde Eddie and was a Chief Constable. "I'm so happy to see you Okechukwu. It's been six months we last saw each other. How's your family?", he asked, looking so happy to see his friend. "Yes oh! We're all doing well, especially in health", Mr Okechukwu replied. "So you're saying there's no problem?", Mr Eddie felt relieved. "Well...I came here to talk to you about my son", Mr Okechukwu tapped his fingers on the table. "What about your son?", he became curious. Before Mr Okechukwu could say a word, a knock was heard on the door, interrupting them. "Come in!", Mr Eddie granted permission. A very beautiful, brown in complexion young lady walked into the office. She had long black hair and was dressed in a black skirt and pink shirt, tucked in to the skirt apparel. She was the daughter of the Chief Constable. "Daddy!", she called him delightfully and went to him. They had a side hug as he remained seated. She turned to Mr Okechukwu and greeted;"Good afternoon Sir!" "How are you dear?", he smiled at her. "I'm very fine sir", she replied. "Let me do some introduction here", Mr Eddie cleared his throat. He gestured for his daughter to sit down on the other swivel chair beside Mr Okechukwu. "Careen! Meet my very close friend, Mr Okechukwu", he said to her, "And Mr Okechukwu! Meet my daughter, Careen...Careen Eddie", he spoke with pride. Both of them shook hands with each other. "You're the one my Dad told me about. He said you always saved his life in secondary school", she said to Mr Okechukwu, feeling happy to see him. "But I keep on wondering why Dad was so careless with his life", she kept a thinking visage as she turned to Dad. "Ahh!", Mr Okechukwu exclaimed calmly, "He meant to say I was always supplying him answers whenever we wrote exams", he blurted out happily. Mr Babatunde, who had been tapping the table with his pen to get his attention and signify for him to keep quiet, became worried after his friend had unknowingly let the cat out of the bag. "What?!", Careen became astonished as she interchanged her gaze at both men for a while. Mr Okechukwu saw Mr Eddie looking at him with a troubled face and realized he had made a mistake. He thought of making it a joke. "You fell for the joke", he said to Careen, forcing out laughter. "He was joking my angel. Don't you know how intelligent I said I was?", he asked his daughter, playing along. "Oh yes! Your Dad was even more intelligent than the teachers", Mr Okechukwu feigned a grin at Careen. Only her Dad could sense the sarcasm in his voice. "Oh okay", Careen felt relaxed, "I was about thinking my Dad wasn't educationally inclined", she chuckled over it. "No! No! Your Dad's the smartest person I know", he replied reluctantly, staring at her Dad with sly smile. "So what brings you here Okechukwu?", he prompted Mr Okechukwu to face him. He tried changing the topic. "Oh yeah! I want you to help my son with a job", he requested. "A job?", Mr Eddie got shocked, "How can I do that? Why can't he go and continue with his tertiary education?" "Hopefully...he'll resume next year. Just to make sure he doesn't stay home idle, I'll be happy if you could help", he spoke reverentially. "Same with me. Would hopefully be going to the University next year and I've been working as a Secret Agent to the Police Force for the past two years", Careen said to Mr Okechukwu, giving him an idea. "Yes! I think Wisdom my son would be a good Secret Agent if you could give him a chance", he said with a gesture, not even sure of what he was saying. Careen's Dad expressed reluctance in accepting his non-stop request. "I'll be happy to have a partner Dad, been doing this alone for two years", she also pleaded. "Remember I've been saving your life in secondary school a multiple times", Mr Okechukwu gave out an evil smile at Mr Babatunde, which he interpreted as a threat to spill the beans. "Uhmmm Careen! Would you love to know how I've been saving your Dad?", Mr Okechukwu asked her with a smirk. "Yes of course", she replied, looking curious and paying attention. "I'll make your son a Secret Agent", her Dad spoke quickly to prevent Mr Okechukwu from saying a word. "Thank you very much my friend", he became very happy, extending out his hand for a handshake. They both shook hands. He saw Mr Eddie looking nervous and winked at him. "Tell your Son to come here tomorrow with his necessary documents", Mr Eddie said to him. "So you wanted telling me how you'd been helping my Dad right?", Careen interrupted. Her Dad became worried, not happy she brought up the topic again. "Babatunde! Don't you remember how I helped you?", Mr Okechukwu pretended to be confused. Mr Eddie kept quiet. "Was it not you that wanted telling me?", Careen became confused. "Me?", Mr Okechukwu placed his hand on his chest expressing surprise, "Oh! It's me, sorry", he pretended he was thinking for a short while. "How did I help your Dad?", he muttered to himself as he continued to be thinking deeply in a dramatic way. Careen looked at her Dad with a questioning look and he only shrugged off his shoulders in response. "I think I've forgotten it because of the excitement I felt when your Dad agreed to my request", Mr Okechukwu said dramatically, "Right Eddie?", he winked at his friend. "Righhht! The excitement was something else", he gestured at Mr Okechukwu. His daughter glimpsed at both of them interchangeably, looking very much in a state of topsy-turvy. ____________________________________ So now Wisdom is going to be a Secret Agent...after his failure in music.
