Chapter forty seven

Sylvester(Dave) POV
"Are you sure of what you are saying?" I asked one of my workers.
"Yes sir. They cancelled the deal at the last minute." He replied.
"How dare they do such a thing?! Do they know who I am?! I am a very busy man so they'd better not piss me off!" I yelled.
"What should I do sir?" He asked, with his body shivering and with a shaky voice.
"Scrap God forsaken company out of our list of partners. We no longer have anything to do with them." I ordered.
"What are you still standing there for? Get out!" I said.
He opened the door hurriedly and left.
"God damn it!" I said.
The door opens again and without looking I yelled.
"Get out!"
"Even your own best friend?" Hilton said.
I turned around and looked at him.
"Sorry... I didn't see you there." I replied.
"That's okay. Tell me, why are you so angry this morning?" Hilton asked.
"Can you imagine? That stupid company I was supposed to have a meeting with this morning, cancelled on me at the last minute." I said.
"Hm. Okay, now that you have gotten that off your chest, tell me the main reason behind your anger." Hilton said.
He knows me so well.
"I sent someone to get me information about Mr Adams' location and he failed." I replied.
"No wonder you are behaving like this to everyone." He said.
"I have no idea." I said.
Just then, a knock came to the door.
"Who is it?" Hilton asked, knowing that I'm not in a good mood to answer.
"I just need to speak with Mr Sylvester. I finally found some news about what he sent me for." The voice said.
"Come in." I said.
"Well? Spit it out." I said.
"I still don't know where Mr Adams lives but..." Richard said.
"But what?! Go straight to the point!" I yelled.
"Calm down Dave." Hilton said.
I took a deep breath.
"Okay, let's hear you out." Hilton said.
"Thank you sir." Richard replied to Hilton.
"I have some information about his daughter. She is his only child and also works under one of your companies. Her name is bella and she is twenty three years old." Richard said.
"Why didn't you follow her and find out where she stays? Don't you think it's possible she still stays with her parents?" I asked.
"I only just went through her records and I am still going through them. That's all the information I got about her." Richard said.
"At least you know something about Mr Adams now. I mean, where his daughter works." Hilton said.
"Yes. You may leave." I said to Richard.
Richard exits my office.
"What do you plan to do now?" Hilton asked.
"Get to the father through the daughter." I replied.
"Dave, I hope you won't do anything bad to her." Hilton said.
"Her father made my mother suffer. Why shouldn't she suffer the same fate?" I said.
"At least just vent your anger on the father and let the girl be, please." Hilton begged.
"I have some work to do Hilton. I have to let you leave now." I said.
"Okay." He said, simply.
Hilton left my office and I am left standing alone.
"No! No! I won't forgive! I can't forget! Not after I've come this far!" I yelled.
I felt a pain in my chest but suppressed it.
I don't care how long it takes or what consequences it holds. I must take my revenge.
Hilton POV
I left Dave's office and his company.
Thank goodness my driver was still there. I had planned to stay long in Dave's company and help him out.
It's been such a long time since we last spent quality time as friends but he has changed. He is not the same Dave I use to know since childhood.
I can't believe he just asked me to leave his office. I'm his best friend, his childhood friend for that matter.
Why would he do that with me?
Dave has turned into a beast. And that's a big word coming from his own friend.
Since he has refused to listen to me in all these years, I have decided to let him do as he wishes.
From now on, there is nothing outside of business between I and Dave. This friendship is over forever.
His behavior has changed my mood now.
How will I be able to take my wife and kids out when I feel this way.
I promised them. I guess I have no choice to do so. And besides, we are my family. Spending time with them will definitely heal my wounds.
I arrived home and my wife, Kathryn, hugged me at the door.
I and Kathryn have been married for two years now and today is the birthday of our one year old twins.
"Welcome back home my love. How was work today?" She asked.
"It was just great." I replied.
"Really? It doesn't sound like you are telling the truth dear." She said.
"No worries love. Nothing a good old outing with the family won't solve." I said.
"Are you sure?" She asked worriedly.
"Yes, very sure." I replied.
"Okay. Come on up and see the kids." She said.
I followed her up the stairs to the room of our twins.
"Aww. Don't they just look so adorable?" She asked.
"They do indeed. I guess they took after their mother. Look how beautiful my daughter is and how handsome son is." I said.
"I know right? They couldn't have taken after someone as ugly as you." She said jokingly and rolled her eyes.
"What did you say?" I asked.
"You heard me." She replied.
"Oh really? Just wait till I get my hands on you." I said.
She ran out of the twins' room and I chased after her. We both laughed as she kept running and I kept chasing.
"Stay away from you... You..." She said, still laughing.
"Or else what?" I asked.
She ran up the stairs and I kept chasing her till she entered our room.
I locked the door and turned my attention to her.
"Nowhere to go now." I said.
