Chapter 31

(Third Person’s PoV)
DA DUN.
The chest of Maxine’s hammering from nervous and fear. How could she not when the man in a child form whom slowly killed her entire family was just right infront of her?
Fear, shock and anger were what she felt at the moment. The pounding of her heart was deafening that she could not hear anything. Beads of cold sweats started to form on her forehead and rolled down while looking at the first Prince.
What she sees on the man in the past did not change even after seeing his child form. The hatred was solid and firm. She would never forget the face of the person she despised the most.
“Is something the matter with the Crowned Prince?” Maximo could not help but to notice how frightened her sister’s expression wad, as if she was seeing a ghost.
The young Caleidon suddenly glanced at them but his eyes ended up staring at Maxine thet made the young woman almost stumbled in shock.
Caleidon was wearing his usual blank face paired with his icy cold eyes. The blue color of his eyes suits his temperament and the way he looks at people.
Caleidon saw the little girl with a far more different expression from what he was always expecting to gain from the people who would see him.
People would give him positive reaction but Maxine gave him a negative expression he did not expect he would receive.
The young Prince flashed a smirk. ‘What an interesting girl.’ He thought.
He almost forgot the Duke infront of him if he was not called.
“Your Highness.” The Duke coldly called the young Prince’s attention. He darted the young Prince with his deadly glare and he did not covered it at all because he was raging inside.
‘Is this brat aiming for my daughter?’ Maximus asked himself, shuddering because of anger after seeing the Prince who flashed a grin when looking at him. He glanced to his daughter for a second and he clearly saw the youngest’s expression. Doubt rose to his chest, more so when…
“Are not those your daughter and son?” His Highness asked as he pointed his index finger rudely to the Duke’s son and daughter.
“You are not wrong, Your Highness.” The Duke replied as he looked unwillingly to his second son.
Maximo got his father’s signal and looked at his statue-like sister before grabbing her hand that made Maxine looked up to him. Maximo could feel his sister trembling for what he did not know the reason why.
‘No. No. No. I do not want to…’ Maxine chanted on her mind that she could not voice out. Fear was overtaking her and she did not want to face her living nightmare.
Maxineirah tried so hard to stop her brother from pulling her. She kept on shaking her head to Maximo to show her displease to be near the Prince but Maximo just creased his brows because he could not understand his sister’s whims at all. Maximo’s face was firm, really want to drag her infront of His Highness to give her greetings.
Maxineirah already showed her outward disagreement but her brother was far more strong from her so she could not do anything when her brother dragged her infront of Prince Caleidon, the heir and next to the throne.
Contrary to what Maxine wanted to do, she reached the hem of her dress in her shivering hands, lifted it a little and bowed infront of him as a sign of respect.
“W-we greet His Highness, the first and Crowned Prince.” She said in an almost could not be heard voice just to greet along her brother.
“I am Maximo Freiston Deene Levyne Zachrono, the second Son of House Zachrono.” Maximo introduced himself.
“M-M-axine Shinoe A-Alde Levyne Z-Zachrono, Your H-Highness.” Maxine stuttered not because of nervous but because of the too much anger she was trying so hard to suppress. If she would be nervous, it may be the nervous that she might kill the Prince, right here, right now and the Empire would turn over to them.
Maxine almost lost her balance if it was not for Maxlein who immediately approached their place and supported her.
Maxwell, Maxillary and Maxlein have been watching her since she popped up from the hallway with their Brother Amo. Maxlein knew there was something wrong with their sister at first glance and he could not help but to worry.
‘Is she sick?’ asked Maxlein to his self anxiously.
When his two siblings approached the Prince with his blank expression plastered in his face, he sprung up from sitting and decided to go to their place even he was already done in greeting the Prince.
The two bowed and Maxlein saw Maxine who almost lost her balance. He immediately rushed beside his sister and held both of her arms to support her.
Maxine looked at her with an unfathomable expression. After reassuring his sister’s balance, he let his sister go and faced the first Prince to greet again.
“I greet Your Highness. Again.” Maxlein then stood up and faced the Prince who was currently staring at his frightened sister, not minding other people than her.
Maxine’s Dad and Brothers were furious. Maxwell and Maxillary who was left sitting in the couch almost want to stand up and dash towards the place but they were restraining each other by holding one’s hand and squeezing it.
Their teeth were clenching and their hands balled into fists. Maxlein flashed an annoyed expression while Amo’s face was giving a fake smile.
The Duke only flashed his coldest expression but all of that did not seemed to mind by the Prince because he was too focused on grinning at Maxine who looked uneasy.
Maxine could not look at Caleidon properly, she could not look at the face of the person who she loathe the most, afraid that she might really strangle him to death.
She could feel the cold and dangerous stare that the Prince was giving her. It only made her want to kill him immediately because his stares was provoking her like a button to her anger.
Maximmus cleared his throat loudly to steal the Prince’s attention on her daughter even if it already means that the Duke was being rude to the Royal child.
Well, the child was also being rude to him and to his daughter too.
“Duke.” The Prince called grinning.
“I am all ears Your Highness.”
“Is not your daughter my future wife and future Empress of the Empire?” the cheeky little Prince asked that made Maxineirah’s father and brothers cough in shock.
They immediately threw the Prince with their most blazing stares they could give, wanting to burn him alive in the spot.
Maxineirah’s mouth gaped in shock.
‘What insanity…!’ she almost blurted out.
Her brother and father’s minds were already full of swearing and cursing of the Prince.
The two children in the side almost throw each other to the Prince and make him leave fliying out of the store.
‘How dare you!’
‘You f’*cking brat!’
‘I will kill you, you m*th*rf*k*r!’
Their thoughts could already kill the Prince without the child even knowing it.
“I am afraid you are totally wrong, Your Highness.” Duke Zachrono said firmly as if nothing could break his words.
“Did you not hear the prophecy-?”
“You would and could NEVER have my daughter, Your Highness.” Maximus said potectively with his eyes widened infront of the Prince as if scaring the child.
He was not entirely wrong because Caleidon shivered because of dread and took a step back.
“Excuse us, Your Highness.” Maximo told the Prince with his outmost respect even he was really burning inside. He would let his father handle the Prince.
