Childhood friend

“Hey Rose, are you okay?" The girl asked as she stared at Rose with worry. Rose harshly turned towards her.
“What do you want, Lily?" Her voice, void of any emotion. Students filed up in the hallway to see what was happening. Lily stared at Rose in confusion.
“That's not the way you greet someone that saved your life" Lily said jokingly but it didn't seem that way.Rose glared at her.
“What are you talking about?"
“My parents were the ones who called the police that day and I was the one who told them to call the police" Lily smiled at her.
“So what? You want me to bow down to you?" Lily looked at her in confusion.
“No, I..."
“Let's go Aiden" Rose muttered and quickly walked away from the scene. Aiden sighed before following behind her with Andrea and Claire. Lily was about to run after her when Stella held her hand.
“Wait newbie" Lily turned to her.
“What do you want?" Stella smirked.
“I need to speak with you" She grabbed Lily's hand and led her to the toilet with her goons behind her.
“Let me go" Lily yelled as Stella pinned her to one of the toilet stalls.
“If you don't want a mouthful of toilet water, you better tell me everything single thing you know about Rose" Lily stared at her in confusion.
“Now!!"..

“Wait, Rose?!" Aiden yelled as he ran after her.
“Aiden?" Andrea said from behind him.
“You guys stay here, I'll talk to her" He told them without turning back and ran after Rose.
“Rose, stop" He said as he caught up to her. He held her shoulder and turned her around. She swatted his hand off her shoulder then looked up at him. When she saw the hurt look on his face, her eyes softened.
“You want to shut me out, now?" Aiden's voice broke as he spoke. Rose moved closer to him then hugged him tightly.
“No, I won't. Please take me home" Aiden hugged her back then led her to his car.

They were silent for a while as Aiden drove his car. Rose had a lot of Memories going through her head while Aiden didn't want to disturb her.
“Aren't you going to ask me why I behaved like that?" Rose suddenly whispered. With one hand on the steering wheel, Aiden squeezed Rose's hand softly with his free hand.
“If you want to talk about it, I'm here but I won't pressure you to tell me" He told her softly. Rose sighed.
“She's a childhood friend" She began “She was with me in my house when tragedy struck me. I never wanted to see anyone from my past but now that I've seen her, the memories are coming back" Tear drops feel from her eyes as she spoke. Aiden glanced briefly at her with concern.
“Shhh don't cry" He murmured as he parked the car at the side of the road. He turned off the car then turned to her.
“Shhh" He wiped away her tears with his thumb.
“Why don't we go get ice cream, yeah?" Rose glanced at him.
“Ice cream?" She sniffled.
“Anytime Andrea felt sad, ice cream always did the trick. I'm hoping you're the same"
“As long as we both get Vanilla ice cream" Aiden wrinkled his nose.
“Why do I have to do that?"
“Because I want us to eat the same thing. Come on, you won't regret it" She urged him. Aiden sighed as he leaned back in his seat.
“Sure, anything you want" He started the car and drove off.
“Okay, it's not as bad as I thought," Aiden murmured as he took another spoon from his vanilla ice cream. Rose flashed him a smile.
“I told you it wasn't bad" She reached into his ice cream and took a spoonful. Aiden looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
“You're not even done with yours," Rose shrugged.
“I wanted to taste yours"
“But it's the same thing," Rose huffed.
“Alright, take your ice cream back, jeez" Aiden chuckled. He pushed his ice cream towards her then stood up.
“You can have it all, I'll go buy a chocolate ice cream"
“What? Why? I thought you said it was good"
“I said it wasn't that bad but I still prefer chocolate ice cream" He winked at her before walking away.
“I was about to call you Aiden, why are you guys coming back home this late? I heard what happened in school. Rose, are you okay?" She asked worriedly. Rose smiled at her.
“Yes I am," Aiden turned to her.
“Why don't you go freshen up?" Rose wrinkled her nose at him.
“Are you indirectly telling me I smell?" She teased.
“Maybe a little," He joked. Rose slapped his arm with a giggle before running upstairs.
“Ow!" He grimaced playfully.
“Whimp!" She yelled back. He chuckled before turning back to his mum who was smiling at him.
“I see you have taken care of everything" Aiden nodded.
“Ice cream solves everything" Emily nodded before her face turned serious.
“So what happened exactly?" Aiden sighed.
“She saw an old friend from her childhood and she didn't take it so well but I can't blame her though, she has gone through alot" Emily nodded at him with a smile.
“Just be by her side and nothing else will matter" Emily whispered.
“I wasn't going anywhere" She nodded at him.
“Good. By the way, graduations are coming up. You know what that means right?" Aiden nodded.
“I'm ready, mother. You were right, I do want to be a businessman" Emily hugged him.
“Mother knows best"..
Aiden felt refreshed after taking a shower. He wore his nightwear and cleaned his hair with a towel. He suddenly heard a knock on his door.
“Rose?" He couldn't hide the shock on his face when he saw Rose in front of his bedroom door with a pillow in her hand. She scratched the back of her neck nervously.
“Can I sleep in your room today?" Aiden's face slowly turned into a smile.
“I was about to come get you" He grabbed her hand and pulled her in.
