Chapter 47: Owen is handcuffed.
“Owen, are you crazy?! Drop the gun!” Stephanie cried fearfully. Sebastian slowly raised his hand in the air. As he did, he thought of how to fight Owen and collect the gun from him, but no ideas came. He had never gotten into a fight with anyone, talkless of someone with a gun. “Stephanie, you caused all these. I told you I still love you, but you never took me seriously. I’m beginning to lose it, girl. I want you, I need you.” Stephanie ran to Sebastian’s front and stood in front of him, pushing him back slightly. “What are you doing, Stephanie?” Sebastian asked in shock. “You have issues with me, Owen! Not Sebastian. Leave him out of this. Please, don’t pull that trigger.” Stephanie was fidgeting seriously. She was heavily covered with her sweat and her heart didn’t stop thumping against her chest. “Then tell me you are going to come back to me! Stephanie, since I left you, I have not remained the same again. I couldn’t stop thinking about you, I had to fight with my wife and divorce her because of you!” “Don’t you get it? You drive me crazy! I tried to stay away, but it’s so impossible. I won’t let anyone take you away from him, even if it means killing him.” He raised his gun higher and Stephanie’s heart stopped beating for a second. “Fine! I’ll be with you! Don’t pull the trigger!” She stretched her hand forward, sweating profusely. “Stephanie, don’t!” Sebastian yelled. “Shut up, okay! Shut up!” She yelled, pushing Sebastian away from her. “Then come to me…” Owen stretched his other hand to her, with an evil smirk. He kept his gun pointed at Sebastian. “Stephanie, what are you doing? You can’t go to him. He is insane!” “No, he isn’t, Sebastian! I’m sorry, okay? I…” She turned to look at Sebastian with tears in her eyes. “I thought I would be able to get rid of my feelings for him and that is why I agreed to be with you. I still love Owen, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. If I could, I would have stopped months ago.” “No… No…” Sebastian shook his head in disbelief. It was all like a dream. Owen felt butterflies in his tummy as he listened to Stephanie. He moved closer to her from behind and grabbed her by the waist. Sebastian made an attempt to move, and Owen looked at him, tightening his grip on the gun. “Move an inch, and I won’t think twice before blowing your head off.” He gritted his teeth as he spoke. He moved his head to Stephanie’s neck and began to keep it roughly. Stephanie slowly tilted her head, giving him more access. She kept her eyes on Sebastian’s face. He seemed confused as he watched her. The gun was still pointed to him, so he dared not move. Owen got carried away while kissing Stephanie’s body, and she suddenly turned to face him. She pulled him in and planted a deep kiss on his lips. Sebastian gasped and a drop of tear rolled down his cheeks as he watched her kiss him deeply. Owen’s hand grew weak and began to drop. The kiss was overwhelming for him, so he couldn’t keep the gun pointed to Sebastian. Sebastian noticed what was happening to Owen’s hand, and in the twinkle of an eye, he rushed to him, punched his hand and made the gun fall off his hand. He kicked the gun under his desk so that Owen wouldn’t have access to it anymore. Owen broke in kiss in terror. He didn’t see that coming. He was carried away. Stephanie moved back, raised her knee and kicked him very hard on his balls. “Arrggghhh!” Owen grabbed his manhood and fell to the ground in agony. Sebastian moved closer to him, lifted his head with his hair and started punching his face. Blood gushed out of Owen’s mouth in no time, but Sebastian didn’t stop throwing punches. “Sebastian, please slow down. He is going to die if he continues.” Stephanie tried to hold him but he was too energetic for her to handle. “He kissed you! Threatened me with a gun! Made me feel useless and unable to protect you! If he dies, it’s not too small!” Sebastian yelled and didn’t stop punching him. All of a sudden, the door flung open and about five cops rushed into the office, pointing their guns at Owen and Sebastian. “Move away from him,” They ordered Sebastian, but he refused and kept punching. He was too lost in punching him that he didn’t know the cops were around. “Sebastian, stop! The cops are here already, okay?” Stephanie held his shoulder from behind, making him stop. He fell to the ground and lowered his head weakly. His throat contrasted painfully, and he couldn’t control the tears that threatened to fall out of his eyes. He hugged his legs, buried his head on his knees, and began to shed tears like a baby. The cops grabbed Owen, who lay almost lifeless on the floor. They handcuffed him and made him stand. His face was damaged, and he couldn’t see the office clearly. Three of the cops took him out of the office, while the other two stayed behind with Stephanie and Sebastian. Stephanie fell next to Sebastian and embraced him. They both cried together. “Where is the gun, Sebastian?” Sebastian raised his head to look at who asked him the question. It happened to be his friend that he called minutes ago. “How did you know he had a gun?” Sebastian asked. “When you called me some minutes ago, I answered the phone but you seemed distracted, talking to someone. The conversation seemed catchy and when I listened, I realized you were in danger. That is why I’m here. Your phone is still connected to mine.” Sebastian slowly looked at his desk and at his phone. He remembered he didn’t disconnect the phone because Owen was calling. “The gun is under the table. I kicked it there. I didn’t touch it, so I didn’t tamper with the fingerprint.” His friend asked the other cop with him to pick up the gun from under the table, and he did, after he wore a glove. “We’ll leave you two now. But you could be called in anytime for questioning. Please, don’t hesitate to show up,” He said, and they both bounced their heads. The cops headed out of the office, and Stephanie looked at Sebastian. He lowered his head again, hiding his face from hers. “Stop crying already,” She mumbled. “I couldn’t protect you, Stephanie. I should have fought him before he moved close to you. He kissed you in front of me, and I could do nothing.” “I let him do that because I didn’t want things to go south. I wanted to distract him so you could take advantage of that, and you did. I don’t blame you, he had a gun.” Sebastian shook his head and kept hiding his face. He felt like a failure to her. “Hey, look at me, Sebastian,” Stephanie uttered, and Sebastian shook his head. “Look at me!” She cried louder, forcing him to lift his head. His face was stained with tears, the same way her face was stained too. She held his face in her hands sweetly and stared into his glittering eyes. “I love you, Sebastian. All those words I said were just to get in his head. I stopped loving Owen a long time ago, okay? You are the man I love, Sebastian. And I don’t blame you for anything. You saved us, and I’m proud of you,” She said with a feeble smile. “Are you sure?” He asked. Stephanie caressed his face with her thumb, and he closed his eyes and exhaled softly. “I’m very sure. I love you so much, Sebastian.” He opened his eyes and the corner of his lips slowly curved up in a smile. “I love you too. I’ll always love you, Stephanie.” He moved closer to her and took her lips in his firmly. He closed his eyes so tight that the tears that gathered in eyes dropped. Stephanie wrapped her hands around his neck and deepened the kiss.
