Chapter 57: Back together
Sebastian got to Italy at night, and he headed right to Stephanie’s apartment.
Stephanie on the other hand took care of the apartment and prepared dinner for him.
She sat in the living room, waiting for him to arrive. Soon, she heard a car pull up in front of her apartment. She sprang to her feet and hurried to the door.
She opened the door and saw Sebastian standing at the gate with a large traveling bag.
“Stephanie?” He called with great happiness.
“Sebastian.”
She ran down the porch and Sebastian let go of his bag and opened his arms wide to accommodate her.
Stephanie ran into his arms, and he embraced her carefully, lifting her from the ground, and she laughed out loud.
“Gosh, I missed you so much.” He grabbed her head and planted a fierce kiss on her lips.
She chuckled and bounced her head as soon as they disengaged. “I missed you so much too.”
“I’m sorry, Stephanie. I’m so sorry for letting you go through all these on your own.”
Stephanie shook her head and looked at his face. “It’s not your fault, I just needed some space.”
He nodded and looked at her belly to see how big it was.
“Wow. It’s so big already. How many months is she?” He asked, rubbing her belly. He went on his knees and planted a soft kiss on her belly.
“Four months and some weeks.”
“Four months? Stephanie, why didn’t you tell me earlier?” He asked sadly and stood to his feet.
“Can we at least go inside and talk better?” She asked, and he looked around and nodded.
He reached for his bag again and stretched his second hand to her. “Let me hold you.”
Stephanie smiled faintly and gave him her hand as they both proceeded into the apartment.
Sebastian got into the house and looked around, divulging a smile. “Not bad.” He complimented, and Stephanie giggled.
“I prepared dinner. Would you…”
“No, Stephanie. I want us to talk before I do anything else. I need you to tell me why you left like that.”
Stephanie let out a sigh and sat on the couch. She beat the space next to her, telling him to sit close to her.
After Sebastian sat, she lowered her head and began to speak.
“I left because I was scared, I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to be with you after you found out you had a son. I was scared you would leave me to take care of her and her son.”
“Stephanie, C’mon, I told you I love you, I even proposed to you but you said No. You hurt me so much. I told Rosabella that we can never be together anymore, and till now, she is nothing but my son’s mother.”
“I know, Sebastian. But do you think she would just let me have you? Remember, she has a child for you…”
“It doesn’t matter, Stephanie. I choose you and she can do nothing about it, okay? I take care of my son, I do my responsibilities, so I don’t owe her anything. Please come back with me to California.”
Stephanie heaved a sigh and shook her head.
“Not yet. I don’t think I want to return yet. I find Italy peaceful.”
“And about your pregnancy, why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“I was scared too. I didn’t know how you would feel if I told you. You have one child you are taking care of already, I wasn’t sure you would want another one.”
“Stephanie…” He called and held her hands.
“Listen to me carefully, I love you. I want you to be my wife, to be the mother of my children. If you have more than a child for me, I would be happy, very happy! I’m so hurt you kept this from me for over four months. I never stopped looking for you.”
“I’m so sorry, Sebastian. I’m sorry I wasn’t bold enough. I was just trying to avoid trouble.”
Sebastian exhaled softly and bounced his head. “I understand you though. And I’m very happy you told me before you gave birth. I’m happy you changed your mind.”
Stephanie grinned and rubbed his hand with her thumb. She moved her face closer to him and kissed his cheeks.
“Do you still love me?” She asked soberly and placed her head on his shoulder.
“I never stopped loving you, Stephanie. I looked for you everywhere, hoping I would find you one day. I love you and keep loving you, Stephanie.”
Tears rolled down her eyes uncontrollably, and she shut her eyes tightly.
“I love you too, Sebastian. I missed you so much. I shouldn’t have left in the first place.”
Stephanie brushed her hair with his hand and also pecked her head.
“I’m happy to be with you again. Can I ask you something?” He asked, and she slowly disengaged from him.
“What?”
“Can you please go with me to see my father? I want him to meet you. He has been bothering me about bringing a woman home.”
Stephanie chuckled and lowered her head shyly.
“Are you sure? I don’t think he is going to like me. Especially now that I’m carrying a baby.”
“No, don’t say that. This is the best time to meet him. He would be so happy. Trust me.”
“Okay. If you say so. I’ll go with you.”
“Yes! Thank you so much!”
He playfully kissed her lips and she let out a little laugh.
“So, will you eat now?”
“Yes, I will! I will eat and eat…” He muttered, looking at her boobs.
“Eat and eat?…” Stephanie asked and knitted her brows. She got what he meant after a few seconds and burst into laughter.
“You will never change! You are becoming a father soon!”
“I know! Doesn’t stop me from eating my wife, okay?!” He shouted while Stephanie ran into the kitchen shyly.
