It was dawn and Jade had regained consciousness he was staring out the window. Rhen was sitting on the floor while she rested her head on the bed, sleeping. "Rhen, Rhen." Jade called out. "You are awake!" Rhen shouted as she got up and hugged Jade. "You said you could take care of yourself but you almost died." Tears was already coming out of her eyes. "Rhen, I'm sorry. Don't worry, I'm okay. What about the soldiers?" Jade asked. Rhen wiped her face with her hands. "The king said, they were lying dead back at the battlefield. None of our soldiers came back." Rhen replied. "Are they dead?!" Jade asked. "We don't know yet but...the kings are in bad shape, they really used a lot of their life force. Dr Bryan said if they go back to fight they might die in the process. We don't know what to do." Rhen replied in a very sad tone. "Is it really the end of the world?" "It's not, cause I'm going to fix everything but first I want to hear some explanation from the king. At first, I thought it was a dream but now it seems like all the things I heard yesterday were reality." Jade said. "Please get him for me." "You can just come out, only Mark, Dr Bryan, Mrs Lillian, Joe and our king are in the lab."
"Oh! What of the other Kings?" "They're in a separate room." "Alright." Jade said as he placed his legs on the floor to stand up. The two of them left the room. "Looks like someone's awake!" Dr Bryan said. "Oh! You mean the chicken." Joe replied. "You are awake." King Slaran who was taking drugs in the main lab said. "Yeah I'm awake. The groggs will be here soon so I advise you start talking." Jade replied in a mean tone. "That was harsh." Mark mumbled. "(Sighs) Please, can you all keep whatsoever I say here a secret." The king requested and they all nodded. "It happened seventeen years ago when permission was still granted to enter and exit Visgard city. I left for Visgard in search of my brothers and after few months I realized that the citizens were protesting for all ability users to go back to their village because of mistreatment and oppression, the ability users were taking advantage of them in school, on the street and other places. This caused some part of the city to become aggressive to ability users. Some of them were killed, people like Kell's parents, Casey's and some others. The board had meetings and decided we left. The decision caused the citizens to be even more aggressive to our people. So my father sent captain Drek, knight Flin and some other soldiers to protect them to the village. One day, there was a blackout I couldn't order online so i went to the central market to get something to eat. That was where I saw your mother, Amanda. She had blue hair but was putting on casual clothes. She was also demanding for some vegetables at the same store. Everything happened how it did and we ended up talking to each other that evening. She said she was going back to Razeki so I told her to stay at my place for the night since it was late already. She accepted and followed me. I couldn't hold myself and did what I did that night. The next day I woke up and she was nowhere to be found, she left. After a week, I also came back to the village and later on, my father passed on. As the first son of the king I took over the throne. Life went on and I made my own family until last year when I got a message from your mother, Amanda. I couldn't believe what she said nor accept it. So I told Mr Arthur, my advisor to have you stay with him." "So let me guess, you never told him anything and that's why he couldn't explain or even give me the tiniest bit of hint." Jade theorized. "Yes." "What did I do wrong? Why is my right and everything taken away from me? I never demanded to be given birth." Jade said as tears ran down his eyes. "So even if I am born and destined to rule are my parents the ones to change that? Tell me! Why didn't she just kill me back then when I was born?" "Jade, we don't have much time, get it together. The groggs will be here anytime soon." Mark said. "Well then (sniffs) where is Avon? If I'm going to act on this tell him I'm going to become the next president..." Jade said. "Jade! are you.... It not time to be selfish, come on there's no time." Mark said. "Selfish!" Jade shouted. "If I'm being selfish then maybe I got it from my parents. Deal with it." "What can you even do? You couldn't defeat a normal grogg what makes you so bold that you can win against the king?" King Slaran asked. "If you think so then I'll just go right back to the room." Jade said. "Come on Jade why are you doing this?" Dr Bryan asked. "I guess because it my destiny. What's wrong with me chasing my destiny? Tell me." Jade asked back. "Alright, alright let's admit, Jade has passed through a lot and we shouldn't ignore that fact. Let's just call Avon." Mrs Lillian said. "And Jade do you think this is the right time to be doing this?" "Can I ask you something Mrs Lillian? Tell me, who do you think deserves to be the next king of our village?" Jade asked. "(Taking a deep breath) Okay I get where you're going but what's the point of doing nothing if they refused, I mean you are still too young to lead." Mrs Lillian replied. "You asked why I'm doing this, why the hell will they refuse if they are not selfish or maybe I should ask for the king's title." Jade shouted angrily. "Can we just leave him or do as he said? Time is not on our side." Joe said, gesturing at the door. "Let me talk to them." Mark volunteered, walking out the door. "Now what can he do?" The king asked. "And you Rhen, can't you talk to your friend?" "About what? Maybe you should try listen to what he has faced since birth before you judge his actions." Rhen replied. "You think I can't do anything right? Then fight for your village let's see how long you hold your ground." "Damn it!"
"I think you two should calm it down. We have a major enemy here to face and besides you are disturbing the other Kings recuperating." Dr Bryan said. "No need to worry. I've been listening to your conversations and I've come to understand something." King Rizzo said, opening the door of his room as he walked out. "This man here was the one who slept with my wife and gave birth to this chicken who thinks he's important...." "Sh*t! Can we at least deal with the situation at hand, why are you all being so selfish?" Joe asked looking at all of them in the room. "You know, the day Mrs Lillian told me that my life was tangled I couldn't quite understand. I kept thinking about it and I eventually waved it away but now I'm really getting it." Jade said, nodding gently. "My life is really tangled and I'm going to untangle it myself." ...... ....
