Chapter 12 Ghost of the Dead

Author's POV:
Boom! Chester falls down on his knees as his face and ass explodes with black smoke. Elise and the whole crowd was surprised as the proud and strong warrior wriggles in pain. The judge was about to say the winner but Chester looks at him with sinister eyes saying "Don't you dare." He forcibly stands up while enduring the pain and this time he looks at his opponent seriously.
It was a disadvantageous match for Chester, a fast moving opponent is the perfect counter for slow but powerful blows. However, Chester isn't one of the best just because of sheer strength alone. "Gale boots and Iron Knuckles" with an added speed and toughened fists, he runs straight towards the masked opponent and in a matter of seconds he closes the gap between them.
The masked kid had no choice to block the fast giant, although he was successful, he was sent flying on the edge of the ring. "You can't run now can't you?" Chester decides that he's going to end this once and for all but the masked kid reaches for his pockets and when it comes out, blue techy gauntlets cover both his hands.
With an even speed and power, they both run towards each other and two powerful fists collide. The ground shakes and they seemed equal until the masked kid said, "Shockwave." Another force comes out of the gloves in the form of blue waves, Chester stood his ground but he couldn't resist the powerful blow. He falls down and the crowds cheer as the victor of the match has been decided. "The winner of the semifinals is Ghost!"
Unlike the audience, Elise and Misty we're surprised to see such a display of battle, not because of their power but because the ghost's magic tools aren't produced here and it's rank is at least epic. There are total of six ranks in magic tools from lowest to highest it starts with normal, rare, unique, epic, legendary, mystic, usually normal and rare are the only accessible ones for students but that doesn't make them easy to acquire.
Elise felt something familiar in his movements, the smart way of baiting his opponents and the use of weapons in his arsenal. To her it seems oddly similar Crème’s movements but something is missing, the skill of complete trap that he uses to set up his opponents.
"Ladies and gentlemen, for the moment you've all been waiting for, we will witness who among the skilled newcomers will take the Crescent blades. Will it the the rising star Elise willow? Or will it be the mysterious rookie known only by the name Ghost?" The crowd screams as the two finalists face each other, Elise tries to look closely inside the mask but she still couldn't recognize if it's Crème or not. "Let the battle begin!"
"Zoom! Estella!" Elise jumps at ghost and slashes from above, she didn't give him any moment but ghost swiftly rolled to the side avoiding it. Elise continues slashing and hacking but ghost is way too swift, he always avoid it by rolling, jumping or doing backflips. She kept chasing him as he runs around the ring just avoiding and blocking her attacks with his gauntlet.
They both face each other trying to catch their breaths from the exhaustion of running, Elise said "You really are good at running. But I wonder if you can run away from this.” Elise focuses holding her sword as the wind around her resonates with her mind, she prepares for her ultimate attack. Just as she was about to swing, Ghost stood still and said, "Minefield." Boom! The ground suddenly explodes as Ghost snaps his fingers. Elise quickly realizes that he wasn't just dodging and running away, he was planting bombs.
She tries to run at him but she can't without a bomb exploding from her feet, even after summoning a shield she still can't do much with Ghost leading her on where he wants her to go. She jumps high into the air, “Estella.” She removes her armor and is only left with the shield on her hand, she holds her bracelet at her back and points the shield at Ghost saying “Wind Bullet.” The bracelet releases a huge amount of wind crashing Elise at Ghost and both of them tumble down the floor.
Elise stands at the unconscious Ghost, to answer her questions, she reaches for the mask but his eyes suddenly opened. He rolls away and takes out a ball pen throwing it at Elise, time slows down in her eyes and before she realizes it, BOOM! Smoke fills the stadium and as Elise falls in defeat she thought “No way. That geek really is Crème.”
The crowd of students cheer the champion as he was given the Crescent Moon Blades, the tournament for the rookies concluded and Ghost head out into the fighter’s locker room. He was just about to take his stuff until he was surprised by Elise who appeared behind him, he pulls out his gauntlets but Elise says “Really Crème? It’s bad enough you used your bomb pen directly into my face but now you want to use your gauntlets too?” She says as she leans on the side of the men’s door.
Ghost didn’t speak so she walked towards him and continued speaking “Let me guess, you’re now a protagonist with a hidden identity that wants to solve the murder of who tried to kill you right?” He still isn’t talking so she comes in more closely with a serious look on her face “I don’t mind you’re anime geekiness but faking you’re death is way over the line you know? Karan and your uncle and even us had a terrible time so why aren’t you stil-” She slowly takes of the mask and the smile on her face quickly disappeared.
“I wish it was just one of his pranks too.” Karan says as they both look at each other with a hint of sadness. They pause for a moment and Karan changes his shirt revealing a lot of scars in his back, before Elise could ask anything, he said with anger in his eyes “What happened to Crème wasn’t ordinary, the poison in his neck can only be found in the mystic world. It’s called a “lullaby”, a rare poison mainly used for having painless and gratifying deaths. Whoever wanted him dead won’t go out of his way to find such a rare poison meaning it’s not death jealousy or hate but rather by love?”
Cassidy silently listens through the walls and tears fall down her eyes as she thought that there was a chance that Crème somehow came to life and went in hiding. She remembers the night so clearly even if it was two months ago, she sees herself holding Crème’s lifeless body and shudders from the dark memory. She immediately regrets her choice for taking Crème’s life but the voice behind her at that night said “It was a sacrifice for the good of the many.” She goes back to her dorm and lays in bed again remembering the good times she spent with Crème.
