Chapter 29 Making Moves To Get To George

AT ASSOCIATION OF WOLVES' PACK @ UK's WILDERNESS
"His mind link is not going through." Kimberly tells Charles who's sitting on the sofa. "I fucking said his mind link is not going through."
Charles barks at her in return, and suddenly, "why should you mind link him? He's just there, he said he needed to take some fresh air and cool off his head."
"I don't want to lose them both."
"Point of correction, we haven't lost Kellie, we never will."
"May I go check up on him then?" Kimberly asks.
"No." Charles retorts. "Two of Martin's Betas have gone there."
"That doesn't disallow me, does it?"
"It does. Please kindly stay indoors."
"OKIE! Then I'll watch em through the window glass." She grins, and climbs up the staircases, heading straight to her room.
"I know all the way long that you're a tough mate." Charles purrs.
"Whatever you call it." Kimberly jerks the door leading to the joint room, open. This is the best room to look down at intruders or to see what is going on in that hut. Kimberly stands there, intact and with no intention of getting off of there anytime soon, peering at the Betas as they hesitantly approach the hut.
Instead of screaming like a local asshole, she mind links them instead, since she doesn't even have a pup anymore, so it becomes easier for her.
"Hey Beta 1, Hey Beta 2." She calls them in her mind link. "It's Kimberly."
"Oh, ma'am!" Only one Beta responds while the other mopes around and check if it's safe to move into the hut since they can hear eerie sounds. (Festus with Kelvin right in there, remember?)
"Yeah. I'm looking at you both now. Why aren't you going in? Isn't George there?"
"Well, we don't know yet. We are a bit scared right now."
"Don't ever use the word, 'scared' again. It defines your weakness as Betas of this great pack."
"Okay, ma. But..."
"May I join you downstairs?" Kimberly cuts in. "May I?"
"No, you may not." The Beta retorts. "We would solve this."
"Ensure you do that. I'll wait to see you move in there and don't tell me George isn't around here."
"Okay, ma'am."
And the mind link disconnects.
"Hey dude." The Beta that received the mind link call, calls for his other one.
"I'm right here. Good to go now?"
Then, they creep into the hut. And as they feet step inside the hut, the discussions stop.
They freeze when they hear people stretching their arms and relaxing and laughing without seeing them.
"George, are you here?" Beta 1 asks. "The Alpha needs you. Please, come out if you're here."
Kelvin has made Festus invisible after he gets away from Cole and put on the Kelvin invisible demonic soul. They both chuckle at the Betas who can't see them.
"How did this happen?" Festus seems surprised since he doesn't know he's been given the demon power. In fact, he hasn't ever heard of it.
Kelvin makes his words drop in their mind links so the Betas won't hear.
"You now have the demon power." Kelvin chuckles, and corrects himself the next minute. He shouldn't have told Festus that. It's a slip of the tongue. And to avoid making the second mistake, he affirms his speech and does his best not to sound to Festus as though he doesn't want him to use his power. Because, that way, Festus would use the power adversely and much more effectively, affecting Kelvin and George.
"Oh my goodness, we can't find George in here." Beta 1 says.
"Try mind linking Kimberly then."
"No, I should try the Alpha himself, Martin."
"Oops. None is best. Try George's mind link instead. We should find him instead of letting Martin and Kimberly worry."
"That's a good idea." Beta 1 says, and tries his mind link. It goes all damn blank since George is still sniffing the bushes and thick forests, sniffing the air in his demon spirit form. No one sees him, no one can mind link him except demon spirits or any being whose mind link was sharpened by tigers pack team and not just by shifting and yelling like idiots under the full moon.
"His mind link isn't going through." Beta 1 says. "Would you try it on your end?"
Beta 2 tries him and gets same results. "Same as well." He says, and they hurriedly get out of the hut.
"Since we are worried now, if others get worried too, it's a win-win." Beta 1 says as they march towards the gate. Kimberly is still at the window, watching all their actions. After seeing them get out of the hut without George and again with their feet scurrying, her heart starts to pound, and throb.
"Hey, wait!!!" She yells at the two Betas, and waves her hands at them, to give more proofs that they're being called, and they didn't hear the sounds they were hearing in the hut.
"Hey, ma'am!" The Betas retreat, and directs their gazes up at her.
"Can you check over there? Down the hill, beside the wasteland?"
"Okay." They reply, and head downwards to look for George. After few minutes of wasting their time, they enter the main gate, ignoring Kimberly's calls which seem annoying to them now.
They head straight into Martin's office to tell him about the current ado. Kimberly saunters down the staircases as she brushes past Charles and jerks the door open.
"Hi?" Charles calls her. "Kimberly? Didn't I tell you not to move outta here?"
"To Martin's office." She replies, adjourning her moves at the doorstep. "George can't be found."
"What!!" Charles exclaims.
"Just follow me behind. I won't wait for you." She then jams the door shut, and heads straight to Martin's room.
GEORGE GETTING STRESSED OUT HERE
"Oh! Where are you, Kellie?" George grunts for the umpteenth time. "Just whistle or say a word."
After saying that, he suddenly hears the sound of bones snapping and wet squelching, now he discovers he's gone very, far now to the beast's department, the tiger's room pack. Same ground where Richard was consumed by the monsters and little tigers in the room pack.
"Hello, I smell you here." George says, and smiles. He sniffs the air for the last time, and the scent of Kellie comes into his nostrils, he feels the sharp tingling and temporal pain pass through his neck as he comes in close contact with the three monsters. He sees Richard's skeleton on the ground while some other parts like Kidney or lungs are scattered around the skeleton.
"What is this?" He squats, and touches the forehead in the skull, then the three monsters fully approach him, growling and howling. Barking, whining, snapping and finally, growling. These monsters can be simply defined as the combo of all paranormal beings. Next to them are demons from hell and next are wizards & witches and then the red wolves.
"Run!!!!!!" Clarissa appears from nowhere as she springs George up from where's he squaring and as soon as she does that, the three monsters fly above them, sending them both to the ground.
"What can save us now?" Clarissa mutters, breathing in and out as the three monsters surround them.
"I feel peace in my heart." George says. "At least, my mate is safe. I feel that peace."
"Shut up, George!" Clarissa yells, envying his mate. To her, he shouldn't be saying anything now, he shouldn't be talking about feeling peace when all she feels is fear and disappointment; worst still, she likes him to be her man but he only goes after a lost wolf. Always lost mate giving him stress.
Unexpectedly, the three monsters growls but in a low tone and bow as they return to their initial position, lurking around the secretive pack house, in view of consuming any kind of wolf they see as their food.
"What… what the fuck." George chuckles, feeling much more peace in him. "...they left us, wow."
Clarissa pouts her lips, and her head remains buried on the ground as she keeps shuddering and shivering.
"Hey, girl. Let's go." George taps her but she keeps shivering. "The monsters have gone. They left us, girl!"
Clarissa doesn't answer him, instead, she keeps shuddering and shivering. After three more trials, George rises to his feet as he dusts his sandals.
Then, a mind link from a powerful being thrusts into his heart, making him exhale sharply and fall to the ground with a loud thud. Clarissa jerks up immediately to check up on him, and when she sees hus eyes changing color, she waits beside him till he would be done.
"Not only the demonic power you have made them leave. You obeyed the order, you didn't shout, you didn't yell despite the fact that you are next to them in rank. So, you're safe. Keep searching."
Then, George's eyes open at once and he sights Clarissa sobbing and rubbing her eyes with her palms.
"What's wrong?" George asks, getting up from the cold floor as his relapse and straightens up. "Why are you sobbing?"
"Did he bite you, and how did you get to me?" George asks different questions and when he only gets continued muffled sobbing as responses, he takes his leave and keeps sniffing around.
