Chapter 10

I pinned my eyes against the ground as I trace back the words Aiden said and rolled my eyes.
"We'll find a way to break the curse."
"Should I send you back home?" Yosuke asked and I biffed his head off.
"I'm already cursed, you lunatic!" I hissed and all of us completely spaced out since all of us were summoned in Sheol––abode of the dead.
It is where the last descendant is being sealed and as much as I hate to say this but I have to stay in there as well as my tamed descendants.
My duty isn't done yet.
I still have to tame him even if it causes my death.
"You, guys, can back out tho." I sighed.
"Don't be too familiar with us, milady." Ryuu hissed. "You might deny it but you're still our master and we have to serve you no matter what."
I bit my lips in frustration. Am I really the strongest tamer or they only treated me that way, knowing that I'm a half-blood? I don't know! I don't know anything!
I glanced at my wrists to where the marks are.
Am I really bound to be his prey? But either way, I have to live! I should get myself together and leave this place for good no matter what it takes. I'll travel high and low to find a way to break this curse. Mother needs me!
"If that's what you all want then fine. Just don't blame me if ever," I bit my thumb and smeared the trickling blood on my palm, waving the constellation sign.
"I command you to go back to your realms."
And by that, eleven different gates were opened. They all entered in and vanished before my very eyes.
I was left alone beside the training field, contemplating. That book in my dream, if I ain't mistaken, was really the sorcerer's book kept by Adonis' daughter, Chelsea. She's known to be the smartest person there is!
Inside that book are spells on how to break any curse marks that bind things together––the book I was seeking for years to break the curse mark, Heather casted upon my mother.
Heather is also Adonis' daughter and is the lady of wild things. My mother is a goddess of healing until Lindy, one of Adonis' concubines, accused her of stealing the amber flask which contained the potion of destruction, Lelith supposed to give Carter to ruin his wife's life.
And so Heather cursed her by taking all her goddess powers and banned her from entering the either the Demon and Spirit Realm.
Mother is getting old and sick like human beings do and soon enough, her human body can't take it anymore, so I have to find that book as soon as possible to break the curse.
She might not become a goddess again but her wish is to cut all ties with the demon and spirit realm and die in peace. No matter what happens, I'm gonna fulfill her wish even if it's the last thing I do.
Furrows formed on my forehead when I remembered another something from my dream.
"That boy..." I muttered massaged my temples in frustration. "Why can't I remember his face?"
"If it's the half-blood."
I glared at someone who just appeared a couple of meters on my right.
It's Genesis, my "rival". At least that's what she thinks. She's the strongest of the C-class tamers.
"What brings you here, your grace?" She mocked. "Have you finally made up your mind and decided to have a real fight?"
I groaned and stood up properly to face her. "I'm not here for stupid fights. Now will you please excuse me?"
"I'm not letting you go this time!"
I gasped when a chain grabbed a hold of my foot and threw me midst air––a perfect momentum to kill someone by slamming them directly onto the ground.
My lips curved into a smile when I realized it's the reaper's chain.
I'm so not into fights right now but I guess I have no choice since I've been already swung inside the fighting field and one thing that sucks in here is that once you're already inside, force field will then trap you until one of the fighters lose.
I winced when I was about to be slammed against the ground. There's no other perfect choice then. I smeared the remaining blood on my thumb.
"Descendant of Scorpio, Lee. I summon you!" I shouted and a celestial gate opened, revealing Lee with his scorpion tail.
Ugh! This is what I hate whenever I summon them for fights. Their true forms are revealed. Lee's tail broke the chain so I got the chance to break free. I landed on the ground smoothly by brushing the sole of my shoe to stop at one pace before standing up to face Genesis.
Lee appeared beside me and his tail disappeared.
"I thought you'd never fight her?" Lee asked and I groaned.
"Don't you see the situation?" I hissed. "I've been dragged."
My forehead creased when I saw Jennie holding the reaper's chain. She's a descendant of Ursa Major. The princess to be specific.
She's wearing the most unusual outfit you'll see here in hell. Her very short reddish-violet dress is so thin that anyone could see what she's wearing underneath. She even wore a knee-high boot that match her dress perfectly.
"Standing up to a demi-god? Acting feisty again, ah?" Jennie chuckled and Genesis grimaced.
I heaved a deep sigh as I threw them a questioning look.
"Are you really that eager to have a fight with me?" I asked, grunting.
"Nope. I just want to see you lose against me."
"What differences does it make?" I taunted and her eyes squinted. "Look, Gen. I really am not in the right shape to pick a fight with you. Aiden is on his way to pick me up any minute from now."
"Defeat me then..." she smirked. "It's your only way out." Genesis threw a knife against the forcefield and different shade of colors flashed.
She bit her thumb to call her other descendant.
Fuck it! This is just not the right time for fights. I had the last descendant's mark on me and Spencer warned me about its risks.
Lelith also told me to refrain from summoning my descendants until Adonis' further notice. It's the first time that the last descendant marked someone and it might cause harm to everyone if he happens to seal something inside me––something they never told me about.
"Descendant of Gorgon, Lisa. Hear your master's request... APPEAR!"
Genesis shouted and a lady in white, decent dress stepped out from a celestial gate.
I groaned. This is bad! Lisa is one of the snake-head sisters that appearance will turn a beholder into stone. In this case, Lee will be of no match to her.
"Descendant of Scorpio, Lee. Return to your realm," I muttered and he looked at me in confusion.
"Why? You won't stand a chance against her," he whined in disagreement.
"And so do you!" I snorted and looked at him. "I can't risk your life, Lee. Just please obey me."
His lips twitched as he steps inside the gate and disappeared.
"Descendant of Pisces, Tyler. I SUMMON YOU!" I shouted and he appeared beside me with a smirk.
"Finally! A real fight," he beamed and I sighed when he gave me a playful smirk.
Yeah! This is what he wanted ever since I tamed him... to spar with someone of his kind. I had no choice tho.
Pisces descendants are the only ones who can withstand a Gorgon's attack due to their double eye lens.
I also want to summon Yosuke. He may look dumb and dependent but he's really good in planning but he will only nag at me if I did. He hates Jennie so much for scraping his leg the last time they met.
"Clever choice," Genesis grinned.
I don't know whether I should take that as a compliment or an insult. All I know is I have to get out of here. I might end up hurting her or maybe worst but it's her fault, not mine.
"Tyler? Can you break the forcefield down?" I secretly whispered.
"You know I can't, milady." He whispered back. "I'm not as strong as Kevin. Just summon him as well."
I shook my head, "I can't! He might just turn into a stone. I can't let that happen."
"You should also worry for yourself, you know. Lisa can turn you into a stone as well."
"I'll be f––"
"Tabitha..."
I was about to talk back when I heard someone calling me from afar. I don't know whose voice was that but I had this feeling that it's someone I should avoid! I shook the thought off. I should focus! I can't lose this match even if I'm against with this fight.
"Too much chitchats. Dodge this!" Genesis shouted and Jennie attacked with the reaper's chain but Tyler's pair was just in time to shield me from it.
As a Pisces descendant, Tyler has the ability to duplicate himself.
"Thanks," I muttered and he smiled.
"My pleasure to protect you, milady."
Tyler's pair is obviously formal than him tho the two of them look exactly alike. What's the catch? It's Pisces' nature.
The pair were busy fighting Lisa and Jennie leaving me and Genesis in a hand-to-hand combat battle. It's her plan to go on like this to lengthen the battle span which means no weapon at all.
"You should do better than that!" She taunted when I missed a punch for the fifth time around.
I could hear the audiences' boos.
"This is getting annoying!" I groaned and kicked her but she was able to dodge it as well.
I gasped when she grabs a hold of my leg and used it to flip me over but before I landed on the ground, I stretched my arms over the floor, gaining momentum to land a kick on her forehead.
She fell on her back and before she could gain her composure, I immediately straddle above her, locking both of her arms with my knees.
"Game over!"
I muttered but she still struggled free so I added more weight on her until she decided to stop. I glared at her before standing. The two Tylers also seem to have finished their fights smoothly.
"So will you leave me in peace now?" I asked without looking at her. I was about to turn away from her when I heard that voice again.
"Finish her, Tabitha! Kill her. I want her blood all over your hands!"
I gasped for air and landed on my back. I don't know what the hell is going on. It feels like my inside flesh is burning!
"Tabitha!" Tyler called and I signaled him to stop until my vision went spinning and all I can see is darkness.
"Tabitha..."
That voice––that voice was the voice in my dream! Am I dreaming again?
"You should kill her!"
It's the last descendant!
