Celine's heart was racing as she rushed through the hospital corridors, eager to find the doctor who was in charge of her mother's care. “Calm down, gal.” Erickson cooed as he held her wrist. He hadn't seen her this happy, a smile spreads across his cheeks as he stared at Celine.
“I can't! I just can't.” Celine screamed with her voice piercing the sky. Smiling with her eyes made her cuter and Etickson couldn't help but stare at her with pleasure.
Celine was too eager to inform the doctor about her mother's finger twitching and the glimmer of hope it had given her.
As she turned the corner, she saw the doctor she was looking for, walking towards her.
Catching her breath, she threw her hands in the air.
"Doctor!" she called out, running towards him. "My mother… she moved….her finger." She stammered, trying to catch her breath with a smile plastered on her face.
The doctor's widen-eyes stares at her as she was jumping, he smiled at Celine's excitement. "Really? That's fantastic news, Celine. Let's go check on your mother." He cooed.
Celine led the way to her mother's room. The doctor carried out some tests on Bianca. He checked her reflexes, her brain waves, and her vital signs.
When the doctor finished the tests, he turned to Celine with a smile. "It looks like Bianca's condition has improved, Celine. Her brain waves are showing some activity, and her vital signs are stable. We'll need to run some more tests, but this is a good sign." He confirmed.
“Oh my! Thank you, mum. Thank you so much.” She couldn't hide her excitement anymore so she started kissing Bianca's hand.
Celine's heart leaped with joy at the news. She was excited that her mother was showing signs of improvement after being in a coma for so long.
"Thank you, Doctor," Celine said, her voice full of gratitude. "I knew that my mother was trying to tell me something when her finger moved. I'm so glad that you were able to see it too."
The doctor smiled at Celine's enthusiasm. "You were right to be hopeful, Celine. Your mother is a fighter, and with the right treatment, she'll make a full recovery."
Celine felt tears of joy welling up in her eyes as she looked at her mother, lying peacefully in the hospital bed. She knew that there was still a long road ahead, but with the doctor's help and her mother's strength, she was confident that they would make it through.
"I'm so happy," Celine said, tears of joy streaming down her face.
"Me too," Erickson replied, wiping away her tears. "I'm so glad your mom is getting better."
Celine looked up at him and said, "I want to call Henry and tell him to come right away. He needs to see my Mom."
"My dad?” Erickson became curious. His mind wandered to the reason she needed to inform his dad. He could only get an answer when Henry come by“Sure, let me get my phone," Erickson said, pulling out his phone and handing it to her.
Celine dialed Henry's number and waited anxiously for him to answer. When he finally picked up, she blurted out the news.
“Henry, Mom is getting better! You need to come to the hospital right now!" A Celine's voice pierced his ears. Henry's face brightened into a smile, he was driving at the moment.
Henry was quiet for a moment, and then he said, "I'll be there as soon as I can."
Celine could hear the relief in his voice, and she knew that he was just as happy as she was. She hung up the phone and turned to Erickson. “I think it's time for Henry to know that I'm his offspring.” She said inwardly ribbing her palm against each other.
"Thank you for being here with me," she said, hugging him again.
"Of course," he replied, hugging her back. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
They walked out of the ward because the doctor wanted to carry out some tests on Bianca. Celine and Erickson sat in the waiting room, Celine cooed “Im grateful for your support, Erickson and there's something I would like to tell which might change your mindset about me.” Celine said, rubbing her palm.
“What is that?”
“Let's wait for Henry's arrival. ” Celine said, creating more time for her to think of how to let it out.
Together, they waited for Henry to arrive, eager to share the news that Bianca was getting better.
Henry was on his way to the hospital after receiving a call from Celine. As he drove down the empty road, he noticed a black Mercedes after him.
At first, he didn't think much of it. Maybe it was just another driver going in the same direction. But as the car stayed behind him, never changing lanes or turning off, Henry began to feel uneasy.
“What the hell!”
He tried to shake the car by taking sudden turns and speeding up, but it still followed him. “Who could that be?” Henry's heart started pounding in his chest as he realized he was being followed by someone who meant him harm. He becomes aware that it was a man in black when he sighted a black suit.
Finally, he gathered the courage to confront the car. He pulled over to the side of the road and waited for the car to pull up behind him. As soon as it did, Henry jumped out of his car, yelling at the men inside.
"How dare you double-cross the second in command, Lucas?" Henry questioned with his eyes darted at Lucas in the car. They alighted, walking towards him.
Lucas gasped for a moment, then smirked. "You lied to Boss and think you can go scot-free? His spy gave him information that you found that little girl but you decided to hide her."
Henry's blood ran cold.
He knew what Lucas was talking about. When he took Celine for breakfast, he took a strand of her hair and took it for a DNA test. He had to pretend like he had no idea of his relationship with Celine just to save her but now the men in black found his little secret.
“You son of a bitch!” Henry scolded.
Henry's mind raced as he tried to figure out how Lucas had found out. The men in black were notorious for their brutality, and Henry was no match for them.
Henry wasn't going to give up without a fight. He took a step forward, his fists clenched at his sides. "You're not going to touch my family," he growled.
Lucas laughed. "Your family? Do you mean that daughter of yours? Don't worry, we'll take good care of her once we're done with you and your little boy, Erickson."
With that, Lucas and his men ran to Henry like an angry mob. Henry fought back with everything he had, but he was outnumbered and outmatched. As the men beat him mercilessly,
