With a cloud of sadness hovering over her, she fell to her seat with a slumped shoulder. Her confidence died down so did that rejoicing soul of hers. She looked up to Henry with a dreadful stare “You are at fault,”
Henry was unable to compose himself anymore, the tears of joy wiped off, and he had no gut to look into his daughter's eyes. His eyes fell to the floor his soul drowning in disappointment.
“If you haven't left mum for that woman. This wouldn't have happened!” Celine stood up, “Go take care of the bruises on your face” she stormed out of the hospital and fell to her knees with tears streaming from her eyes.
Despite being blamed by them, he didn't hesitate to check on Bianca before running after them. Getting into her ward, the doctor was done conducting tests on her.
“Hello,”
“Oh hi, Mr. Henry.” The doctor in charge greeted me. Henry feigned a smile to avoid unnecessary attention.
“Don’t pull on a long face, sir. She's getting better. ” The doctor said with a smile. After meeting Henry's glare, he understood he passed his boundary. He walked out to attend to other patients.
Henry heaved a sigh, he sits close to Bianca's bed. “I’m sorry, Bianca. I might not make it to the end. I hope the phase would have been over by the time you get up.” Henry said he's confident of Bianca's safety in the hospital.
He placed a kiss on Bianca's forehead before walking out of the hospital. He was driving his car to his home with the belief that he would find Celine and his family at home.
He halts the vehicle to a standstill when his eyes met Celine sauntering at the roadside. Celine looked away with a pretense that she didn't notice him. He alighted.
“Celine, I'm sorry.” He apologized,
Celine eyes met his “Please, I'm not ready to discuss this with you.” she ignores him, swiftly rejecting his apology.
“Let us travel out of this country.” Henry pleaded. Celine looked away like he does not exist.
Henry continued “Jones is alive.” Celine turned to him, and that sounded like a piece of good news to Celine. She moved closer to him with interest to know more about Jones.
“Gosh! Emily will be so happy about this.”
“But not us.” Henry's response made her jerk like a bee stung her head. Henry knew her next question would be 'why?' “He murdered my men, we have to travel out of the country. He might come for my family.” Henry said.
Celine sneered “Coward! You can't deny the truth that you are only scared of losing your head.”
He felt insulted but being close to his daughter felt like he was close to Bianca. “Let us go home,” he concluded.
Celine's brows furrowed. “You call that home? It's more like a jungle!” Celine scoffed at him. She folds her arms around her chest. Using Hekrn behavior as an excuse seemed wrong when the truth is that she can't look into Erickson's eyes, he's so mad at her, and going to his home would only make him disgusted, Celine thought inwardly.
“But I can't let you stay out. It's dangerous.”
Henry tried to convince her but it proved abortive. “Why do you care? You never cared when I was little, why now?” she questioned, Henry wanted to reply but he pursed his lips.
He knew arguing with her would be a waste of time, he needed to outsmart her. Just as planned, he placed a tracker behind her ear while sliding a strand of her hair. “You are my daughter” he whispered.
Celine walked out of him, fastening her footsteps. She didn't want to fall for his silly tricks. Henry walked to his car with a grin.
Celine creased her brows as Henry drive past her without saying a word, she became relieved and also suspicious. “So arrogant!” She exclaimed.
He made his way to his vehicle, slamming the door shut as he got in. He drove off without a backward glance, the anger still simmering inside of him.
Celine rolled her eyes at Henry's behavior, used to his temper and outbursts. She continued walking down the roadside, trying to ignore the hurt and disappointment she felt at his actions.
As she turned the corner, Emily appeared out of nowhere, a concerned look on her face. "Celine, are you okay? What happened with your dad?"
Celine shook her head, not wanting to get into the details of her complicated relationship with her father. "It's nothing, Em. How did you know he's my father?" Celine raised her brows. Emily bites her lips, she couldn't blurt out that she had been spying on her the whole time.
“I guessed” Emily replied.
“Well, that's a good guess” Celine continued walking, hesitating to tell her about Jones's existence.
Emily looked at her skeptically, sensing that there was more to the story than Celine was letting on. "Are you sure you're okay? It seems you have something to say to me."
Celine sighed, feeling a sense of relief at the offer of support from her friend. She knew that Emily would always be there for her, no matter what. "Yeah, I think I do. Can we talk somewhere private?"
Emily nodded, leading Celine to an empty restaurant down the road. As they sat down together, Celine poured out her heart, sharing the details of her complicated relationship with her father and the pain she felt at his actions.
Emily listened, sipping water.
“Is that all? How about we inform Helen so she can know her right place?”
Emily's suggestion was rejected immediately. “No! I don't want to create enmity. What if she tries to hurt my mother?”
Emily rolled her eyes, she knew Celine won't accept to burst the news to Helen, she had to place her plans herself.
Celine coughed, stopping Emily from staring securely at her.
“Have you heard from Jones?” Celine whispered, she felt relief breaking the silence.
Emily gasped in shock, her brows furrowed as she darts her gaze at Celine. “Are you mocking me? You have the guts to ask about Jones's body after murdering him.” Emily thought she said inwardly but she couldn't kill the fire burning in her heart and her mouth erupted with rage.
Celine staggered, still shocked at her statement. Emily starts panting with her eyes widened, “You wicked bitch!”
