“Emily, please don't tell me you believe that trash! Why would I assassinate you lover?” she said with her lips quivering.
“What's with the pretense now? There's no one here just us.” Emily creased her brows with eagerness to listen to whatever she wanted to say.
“I didn't murder him, besides he's alive. We had no dispute whatsoever so why would I hurt that fellow? ”
“Really? You hated him from day one.” Emily rasped, blaming innocent Celine. If only she knew Jones was only playing tricks on her to get rid of Celine.
“Im not ready to argue. Just want to inform you that Jones isn't dead.” Celine said.
Emily laughed loudly “Oh my, what the fuck do you think I am? I ain't gullible. Do you think I would believe those cooked-up stories?.”
Celine's mouth widened, she couldn't believe her ears. She knew Emily changed overnight and there is a solid reason she was being accused. With so much disappointment, Emily stormed out of the restaurant. Celine ran after her but with time, she lost her.
Celine eyes are welled with tears, the world seems to be against her. She's innocent yet her best friend, Emily blamed her for something she doesn't know of.
Her legs decided to walk her past the alleyway and suddenly a man appeared in a black hoodie, his face covered, in his right hand there is a dagger, and on the left a loaded gun.
Celine didn't notice the man following her until she heard the creaking sound the dagger made as it scratches the wall.
Celine turned around, still thinking about her best friend. Her blood ran cold when she sighted the man, the man paused at first then stared at her. She recognized that gaze at once.
He then raised his head and his face was exposed, Celine screamed out her lungs, it was Jones. It was more like she met a ghost, remembering what Henry said, she took her heels and started running.
Jones didn't run after her, he stayed still with a smirk and suddenly gaits towards her. Celine paused when she didn't notice him after her, panting as she leans her head against the wall. “Was that Jones? I think I lost him.” Celine was walking backward when her back hits a being.
She screamed, turning around and her eyes met Jones's grin “Do you think you can run away?” he questioned moving closer to her. Celine was walking back to Ward, nodding her head in refusal.
“Celine,” A feminine voice yelled her name, it was Emily. Emily is on the verge of taking vengeance but she was damn worried when she sighted a strange man moving closer to trembling Celine.
Emily ran towards her and Jones disappeared with disappointment.
“Celine, who was that?” Emily asked with so much concern. Celine was still panting and she couldn't say a word.
Emily helped her out of the alleyway and they lodged in a hotel to have a brief discussion.
When they got into their room, Celine crouched on the chair biting her nails with worry. She has never been so scared all her life.
“Why don't you kill me instead?” Celine asked with tears welling in her eyes.
“What? Why would I? What did that scary man do to you? Did he hurt you?”
“Jones was about to murder me when you appeared. Why did you stop him?”
“Jones? No Nah! That can't be Jones, he died.”
“Really? Did you see his body?” Celine questioned. Emily gave her a negative nod and She starts to believe her.
“Oh, my fucking gosh! But I saw it…I saw the video of those cruel men slaughtering him.” Emily gasps.
Emily's ringing phone obstructed their conversation. “Excuse me,” Emily said, she walked out of the room.
Celine starts to become calm, she gulps water to make her heart bear normal and then, She heard a knock at her door. “What's wrong with Emily? Did she forget how to use the doorknob?” Celine doubts, but she opened the door about to tell. Behold, the being behind the door was Jones. He stretches the gun to her forehead.
Celine couldn't scream, she covers her mouth with her hands. Jones walked in with a smile and gently shuts the door.
“What did I do? What do you want?” Celine's voice trembles. “You did absolutely nothing but your father, Henry did a lot.”
“No!no!” Celine pleads for him to spare her but he was adamant.
The door barged open and Emily appeared behind the door after having a thorough conversation with the cops about Jones's appearance at the alleyway.
Celine could hardly believe her eyes when Emily appeared behind the door. The gun-wielding Jones had frozen, his eyes darting back and forth between Celine and Emily.
“You're supposed to be dead,” Emily said, her voice shaking with fear.
Jones hesitated for a moment before raising the gun toward Emily. “You shouldn't have come back,” he snarled.
Emily didn't back down, though. “You won't get away with this,” she said, her eyes flashing with determination.
Celine was trembling with fear, her heart racing as she watched the two of them facing off. She didn't know what to do or how to help, but she knew she couldn't just stand there and watch.
With a sudden burst of courage, Celine lunged at Jones, grabbing the gun and trying to wrestle it away from him. Jones was stronger than she was, though, and he easily overpowered her, sending her crashing to the ground.
Emily sprang into action, tackling Jones and trying to get the gun away from him. The two of them struggled on the ground, rolling around “You deceived me, you made me believe Celine was a bad person.” Emily said.
“Aint we supposed to take vengeance together not fight against each other? Don't you still love me?” Jones said, struggling.
Emily had no response to his questions, her love for him perished when she found out he was using her all along.
Celine scrambled to her feet, her heart pounding with fear and adrenaline. She knew she had to do something to help, but she didn't know what.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the struggle ended. Emily had managed to disarm Jones, and the two of them were lying on the ground, panting and covered in sweat.
Celine rushed over to Emily, helping her to her feet. “Are you okay?” she asked, her voice trembling.
Emily nodded, her eyes wide with shock. “I can't believe that just happened,” she said.
Celine looked over at Jones, who was lying on the ground, his eyes closed. “Is he dead?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper.Download Novelah App
