Emily knelt beside him, checking for a pulse. She breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Celine. "He's still alive," she said.
Celine's heart was pounding in her chest. She had never been so close to death before. The room was filled with the sound of their labored breathing.
The minutes stretched on, and the silence between them was unbearable. Celine tried to speak, but her throat was too tight.
Finally, they heard the sound of sirens outside. Celine felt a rush of relief. The police were coming.
Jones was taken away in handcuffs, and Celine and Emily were left alone in the room. They sat on the bed, numb and exhausted.
Emily put her arm around Celine. "Are you okay?" she asked softly.
Celine shook her head. "No," she said. "That crazy guy almost killed us. He didn't care a bit about you."
"It's okay," Emily said. "We'll get through this together."
Celine leaned into her friend's embrace, feeling safe for the first time since the ordeal began. She knew that they had a long road ahead of them, but for now, all she could do was hold on to Emily and wait for the storm to pass.
Emily sat across from Celine, wringing her hands. She could feel the weight of her mistake sitting heavily on her shoulders.
"I'm sorry, Celine," Emily said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I can't believe Jones tricked me into disliking you. I should have seen through his lies."
Celine looked up from where she was sitting on the couch. She could see the sincerity in Emily's eyes, and she knew that she meant every word.
"It's fine," Celine said, taking a deep breath. "At least he's gone with the police officers. Good thing they arrived on time."
Emily nodded, relieved that Celine wasn't holding a grudge against her. She knew that she had a lot to make up for, but she was determined to do whatever it takes to regain Celine's trust.
"I promise I'll make it up to you," Emily said, reaching out to take Celine's hand. "I'll do whatever it takes to prove that I'm on your side."
Celine smiled, feeling the warmth of Emily's hand in hers. She knew that it would take time to rebuild their friendship, but for now, she was grateful to have Emily by her side.
"Thank you," Celine said, her voice filled with emotion. "It means a lot to me that you believe me now."
Emily squeezed her hand, a small smile playing on her lips. "Of course," she said. "I'm just sorry that it took me so long to see the truth."
Celine stood up and walked over to Emily. She wrapped her arms around her friend, pulling her into a tight embrace.
"It's all over now," Celine whispered, holding Emily close. "I'm just so glad that Jones is with the cops."
Emily leaned into the hug, feeling the tension in her body start to melt away. She had been so scared during the whole ordeal, and it was a relief to know that it was finally over.
"I can't believe it all happened," Emily said, her voice shaking slightly.
Celine pulled away from the hug and looked at Emily. "I know," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "It's been a nightmare."
"But we made it through," Emily said, a small smile playing on her lips. "Together."
Celine nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude toward her friend. "Yes," she said. "Together."
They sat in silence for a few moments, each lost in their thoughts. Celine couldn't believe how much their friendship had been tested over the past few days, but she was grateful that they had come out on the other side.
"I don't know what I would have done without you," Celine said, breaking the silence.
Emily smiled. "Likewise," she said. "I'm just glad that we had each other."
Celine nodded, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that there would be more challenges to come, but for now, she was just grateful to be with Emily, safe and sound.
Celine and Emily walked out of the hotel lobby, both feeling a sense of relief wash over them. They had been cooped up in the hotel room for hours, and it was a relief to finally be out in the fresh air.
As they made their way to the front desk to pay their bills, Celine couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. She had never thought that their trip would end like this, with a brush with death and a newfound appreciation for her friendship with Emily.
"Excuse me," Celine said, approaching the front desk. "We'd like to pay our bills, please."
The front desk attendant nodded and pulled up their accounts. As she rang up the charges, Celine and Emily stood in silence, lost in their thoughts.
When the attendant handed them their bills, Emily stepped forward to pay. Celine protested“No, you don't have to.”, but Emily insisted, saying “It is the least I can do after everything that had happened.”
As they walked out of the hotel, Celine turned to Emily. "Thank you," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "For everything."
Emily smiled. "Of course," she said. "That's what friends are for."
Celine nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude toward her friend. She knew that their trip had been far from ideal, but she was grateful for the experience. It taught her to appreciate the people in her life and to never take a single moment for granted.
As they walked away from the hotel, Celine felt a sense of optimism wash over her. She didn't know what the future held, but she knew that she had Emily by her side, and that was enough for now.
“I would love to meet Erickson,” Celine said, with her face staring at the floor.
“Alright, I would drive you there,” Emily said, they hop in her car and Emily drove off to Henry's home. On their way, they had a pleasant discussion forgetting the misunderstanding they had.
Celine sighs when the vehicle halted.
“Are you sure you are ready for this?” Emily questioned.
“Yes,” Celine alighted.
“Im coming with,” Emily said. They alighted. Celine was confused when she sighted no security man on the porch, her brows squints.
Then, her gaze met a security man's body lifeless in a corner. They gasped. “Oh, my fucking gosh! It's not safe to go in. ” Emily ordered, grabbing Celine by the wrist.
Celine eyes dart to the door knob with an icy expression “Im going in there.”Download Novelah App
