Chapter 16 The Plan

SEIJI's POV
I don't know how I went pass through the guards back at the mansion as well as the bundles of people crowding outside the hospital before I reached the operating room.
"Sir! You can't be here—"
"Step back!" I groaned when a nurse attempted to stop me. "I need to see her!"
"But, sir!"
"I said step back—"
"SEIJI-AH!"
I stopped at one pace when I heard Eun hyung's voice echoed throughout the empty hall. He's running towards my direction. The others still ain't here and it looks like they weren't able to escape the guards back home.
"Hyung!" I moaned, trying to get some help, so I could enter the emergency room but he only shook his head. "But, hyunggg! Shane's inside!"
He stopped in front of me and looked at the nurse. "Let me handle this."
The nurse glanced at me and looked back at him. "Thank you, sir," she stepped back and went away.
"Hyunggg!" I wailed, stamping my feet in distress.
"I know how you feel but we can't do anything, by far," his eyes wobbled. "L-Let's just trust the doctors and her!"
"Her who?"
The two of us gasped and looked behind me and to our surprise, we saw Shane and Sebastian. I wasn't able to react right away and only stared at her.
She's sitting on a wheelchair. Her left leg and right shoulder were bandaged and bruises are even visible on her forehead and cheeks. She even had her lower lip cut.
I batted my eyes when hyung flashed pass by me and sat in front of her. He raised his hand and was about to touch her but stopped.
"W-Who did this to you?!"
His voice went higher and higher as his brows met in anger. Shane's lips thinned and immediately looked down.
"I-I'll tell you when we get home," she muttered.
I bit my lip. Seeing her in this situation hurts as hell especially because I know she went through all of these because of us.
I heaved a sigh, trying to pull myself together.
Sebastian was only standing quietly behind her. He's also injured. His right arm has been bandaged and some parts of his body were covered with scrapes.
"W-who's inside then?" I asked, trying to break the lump on my throat.
"Ian, Clark, and an old friend," Shane answered casually. "The two will obviously make it, I just don't know about the other one."
"Old friend?" I asked again.
Shane looked at me. "You know him, Se."
"I do?"
"Remember that annoying boy before? The one who used to pull pranks on me?"
My lips parted. "Midori? T-Tanaka Midori?" She nodded. "But how did he get in there?"
"Hmm… he's been hired by someone to annihilate me, of course."
"SO HE'S THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INJURIES?!" I bawled. "WHY IS HE INSIDE?! HE SHOULD JUST DIE!"
"We need him to trace the mastermind," Sebastian edged.
"Oh, yeah! Good thing that he'll live so I could kill him myself," hyung thundered all of the sudden. He then stood up and walked in front of the operating room.
Shane looked at me in askance. "What happened to him?" She whispered, grimacing, and I only shrugged.
I'm fuking hurting, so just shut the shit up, pabo!
I walked near her and carefully ruffled her hair. "I'm so glad you're fine. I could have searched the entire city before this day ends."
"Heh!" She snorted. "That's funny because you can't even went pass through the guardsㅡ" her eyes widened in realization. "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU, TWO, HERE?! WHERE'S THE GUARDS?! WHO'S PROTECTING YOU?!"
"Ahh~" hyung and I exchanged looks and ended up spacing out.
"Ugh!" Shane groaned, massaging her temples. "Those guards only have one job! ONE JOB and yet they couldn't do it right!"
Shane kept on nagging even after we reached her hospital room. It's so damn big that we couldn't hear each other talking from afar so we have to stick close.
"Those three idiots will stay here with me in this room," Shane muttered as Sebastian help her sit on the bed. "And I will obviously be protected by my guards, so I want the two of you to go back home to where it's safe. I already talked to Sunho oppa's grandfather and asked him to give you some of his most trusted guards since I already fired those fools who let you pass."
Hyung and I coughed when she glared at us.
"Ahh~ we're sorry," hyung mooed. "We didn't think of it that much. We flew our asses off when Yi hyung got a call from the managers, saying you were rushed to the hospital. I mean—that's just a normal reaction from someone who cares a lot—" he batted his eyes in realization of what he just said and immediately looked away. "I-I guess?"
Shane seems to look shock but she was able to contain it right away and smiled. "I'm so sorry for worrying all of you, but I'm fine."
I sighed as I sat a bit away from them, just then the door opened and nurses came in, pushing three different beds inside the room.
We only watched them settling on the other side. They were arranging apparatus for the patients while the three doctors talked to Shane and then left afterwards.
I stood up and went near Midori who have more tubes connected on his body than the other two.
"Oh!" I grunted when I saw his injuries.
His whole body is covered with bandages, like literally! He's eyes, mouth and nostrils are the only ones left uncovered. He barely breaths and without the help of these apparatus, he's good as dead.
I assumed Shane is responsible for all of these so—I covered my mouth in disbelief—I really should be careful about what I say around her.
"I think I can't add more injury on this guy," hyung gasped behind me. "I think he's dead."
"See that, hyung?" I pointed the heartbeat regulator.
"Oh, he's alive. Hurrah!" He grimaced and then looked at me. "Anyway, Mr. Kim's trusted guards will come for us any minute," he quoted. "Do you think Shane will be fine without us here?"
I sighed and looked at her who's talking on the phone.
"You got the question wrong. She's a strong and independent woman, we are the ones who won't do fine without her."
"Even so, she's still a girl."
"A girl who don't need a knight to save her," I sighed again. "Because if she does, she wouldn't have survived. And these people weren't be here by now."
"Hmm…" he looked at me in askance and I only shrugged it off.
I don't know! I really don't know how to act especially now that I confirmed he had feelings for her. Seems like my fantasies are all shattered into pieces even though I know—from the very beginning—I don't have a chance when this happen.
I know I should be happy for them. My beloved brother and the girl I really love be together—I should be happy, right?
We looked at the door when it opened and four men in black suit entered followed by Sunho hyung's grandfather. Hyung and I rushed to where Shane was and bowed to welcome him.
"Hmm… how are things going, miss Irie?" He started. He don't look like he care for hyung and I so we decided to back off a little.
"Negative," Shane answered. "And this happened."
Hyung and I exchanged looks.
Mr. Kim nodded as if he was thinking. "So, neither there." He hissed and then looked at hyung and I. "What are you, two, doing here?"
None of us were able to talk, so he sighed, shaking his head.
"If you continue being this stubborn, you will be the reason of this woman's downfall," he looked at Shane. "She's doing everything just to lock your coffins with everyone of you outside, but you kept digging graves."
Mr. Kim's hisses went louder and louder making our feet feel really hot, they could burn.
"The person behind all of these is one piece of a smart shit!"
My lips thinned. This is the first time I heard Sunho hyung's grandfather curse.
"So please, be cooperative and do everything we say."
Hyung and I looked down and sheepishly nodded. Shane seem to have taken pity on us and she stood in front.
"Hey! You can't be standing right now," I winced when hyung immediately held her shoulders to support her.
As if a cue, I looked away. I know I should be happy for them but—I need time—plenty of time.
"Thank you…" I heard her whisper.
My eyebrows raised when Mr. Kim's body guards suddenly checked the entire place.
"It's best to be safe than sorry," he muttered and signaled his body guards to step out of the room, leaving the five of us and the three unconscious jerks behind.
Mr. Kim cleared his throat and looked at us seriously. I could feel his eyes digging into my internal organs.
"This might be an eccentric or perhaps an unacceptable plan, but this is the only way we see to protect them," he sighed, looking at Shane. "And I want you to reconsider that, Miss Irie."
Shane's eyes wandered down the floor, all so gloomy for reasons we don't have any idea about.
"W-what plan was that, sir?" Eun hyung suddenly asked.
Mr. Kim turned to look at him. "All of you must sail very far away from this place in separate countries."
Hyung and I exchanged looks.
"W-what do you mean by separate countries, sir?" I stuttered and looked at Shane when she held my arm.
"Se, I want you to listen carefully," she looked at hyung fidgeting. "Both of you…" she paused for a second, eyes shifting into places.
She must be battling with her thoughts right now and what she said shuttered my entire soul.
