Her Confession

Moon Ryeong lowered her head to conceal her guilty expression from the human. She can't bear looking at his heartbroken face. She had accepted and taken for granted all of his care and love. She genuinely wants to avoid the situation in which she has to hurt Jae Rim, but she needs to make the right choice in the end, and she chooses Helios.
"I've been trying so hard to push him out of my life and torture him every second of his life. I was so good at suppressing my feelings that I continuously destroyed his heart. I thought I'd be able to detest him for the rest of my life, but... I'm not even honest with myself, which unintentionally hurts him as well as myself... I've been behaving like an idiot for a long time..." She begins to speak in hushed tones without even looking at Jae Rim.
"Even in my previous life, I should admit that I have always had a strong attachment to him... But my disgust for him and my greed get the best of me. Even though I adored my king, that monster held a particular place in my heart. But I refused to admit it. Even though I despise him for his cruelty in causing the murder of my loving husband, I can't genuinely despise him..." she says.
"My heart was torn between hatred and concern for him. Helios has turned into a monster who I want to protect him with my heart... A monster who loves me alone even though I never exhibit kindness and always rejection... He should've stopped loving me..." When the lady said this, a tear streamed down her cheek.
"It has always broken my heart how he looks at me with such tenderness and love, but then it changes to such anguish and doom in his eyes when I show my hatred and cruelty towards him. How can a monster like him have genuine feelings for someone like me?" Moon Ryeong can't help but be reminded of every time she shares with Helios, causing a tremendous load in her heart.
"Even when he begged and begged, I never chose him and instead betrayed him. I always become the person who brings disaster into his life and abandons him in his miserable lonely life. I abandon him all by himself. But he's always there... Why does he always stay and wait for me? Each and every time, it makes me feel worse... It makes me appear crueler than he is as a monster... I..." She is unable to finish her sentence and is at a loss for words to explain her feelings.
"... I don't want him to leave my life... I should have admitted it sooner so that none of this tragedy could have occurred to him... He put everything on the line, including his life, for me, but all I did was..." Moon Ryeong comes to a halt as she struggles to keep her tears from falling any farther.
Without her even realizing it, She's not sure when it started, but Helios quietly crept into her heart, for no apparent reason. The one word he drew inside of her that is constantly buried within of her and she is unaware of it. But now, after nearly losing him, she has realized. She has always loved the vampire who is always by her side. She wants to love him.
Jae Rim can't help but sympathize with Moon Ryeong when he sees her vulnerable side. Even though it breaks his heart to watch her devastated when talking about someone else, he can't just sit there and feel compassion for her. Her figure, who is attempting to suppress her emotions, makes Moon Ryeong appear more frail, and he can't help but bring her closer into his embrace. He softly strokes her back and tells her it's acceptable if she wants to cry, which gradually causes Moon Ryeong to sob.
Moon Ryeong can only mutter to Jae Rim, "Mianhe... Mianhe (I'm sorry)..." as she buries her face in his grasp.
"Don't be worried; I understand. As long as you're happy." Jae Rim tenderly touches her hair, attempting to shoothe his own broken feeling. He looks up at the dark sky, not wanting to cry. His feelings for her are sincere, and all he wishes for is her happiness, yet it still hurts to give up the woman he loves for someone else.
Jae Rim has a strong feeling that there is something special between Moon Ryeong and Helios that no one, including himself, can enter. He realized earlier than the woman herself how important the great vampire was in her life. But he continues to push forward and try his luck with her, hoping that one day Moon Ryeong will just look in his direction. But it was all a dream for him. He must, however, accept it.
"Thank you very much; I wish you happiness as well. You are a wonderful man and an amazing father. There must be a kind woman out there who would adore you unconditionally. I am certain of it," Moon Ryeong says, feeling both grateful and guilty. But she realizes that there must be many ladies out there who would embrace and love a kind person like Jae Rim, something she cannot do for him. She carefully lifts her hand and embraces him closer, their final embrace before saying farewell.
Meanwhile, Helios, who is still unconscious in his room, moves. His hand grips the bed tightly and his brow furrows. His temple is drenched in sweat. He has recurring nightmares about the time he accidentally injured Moon Ryeong's neck and nearly killed her. The figure of thousands of innocent lives he has taken comes back to haunt him. Then a scene appears in which he inserts his sharp finger nail into the lady's chest. Moon Ryeong coughed up a lot of blood, and as he pulled his hand away, her frail body fell to the floor, lifeless.
His body jerked up, causing him to awaken. Helios is having trouble breathing regularly as a result of his nightmare. He looks everywhere but cannot find Moon Ryeong. It frightens him that the lady is not present. He rapidly stood up, which gave him a severe headache. But he ignores it because he wants to see Moon Ryeong as soon as possible since he is frightened that the lady has died, exactly like in his dream. He leaves his room and enters Moon Ryeong's. He has difficulty standing on his feet, let alone walking, yet he fights it with all his strength.
The lady's room is empty after the vampire opens the door. She is not present. As a result, he decides to look for her elsewhere, but not before he notices a shadow from the large window in Moon Ryeong's room. He approaches the window with hesitant steps and finds Moon Ryeong standing in front of the mansion's gate.
The lady buries her face while closely embracing a familiar man, Song Jae Rim. Helios' pace comes to a halt as he takes in the scene with his own eyes. He is relieved to find that the lady is safe and sound, but it breaks his heart to see her in another man's embrace. He can only see the two shadows of individuals hugging one other with a shattered heart from afar.
Helios can't endure seeing them together, so he turns back and plans to vanish in order to avoid witnessing the lady he loves choose another guy. But his shaky feet and terrible headache get the best of him, and he collapses. He is struggling to get back up and is just lying on the floor.
Moon Ryeong returned to Helios's chamber after sending Jae Rim's away, only to discover that the unconscious vampire is no longer on his bed. A slew of scary thoughts overwhelm her mind, causing the lady to feel frightened. What if Helios vanishes again? Her eyes are filled with anxiety, expressing how worried she is. She instantly searched everywhere for him.
"Helios!" When she discovered Helios lying down on the floor of her room, she was taken aback. Moon Ryeong approaches his body at the speed of light and assists the vampire in standing up. She supported his body and let Helios to rest on her bed. He still appears pallid and sweating.

"What brings you here? You should rest in your room," Moon Ryeong says, expressing her anxiety. But, once again, he remains silent and does not respond. He even avoids her gaze when she speaks to him. His lack of interest perplexes the lady. Moon Ryeong softly takes his hand in her palm and tenderly caresses him.
"Are you sick anywhere? Do you have a headache again?" she inquires, Helios smirking cynically at her comment, which causes Moon Ryeong to scowl.
"You don't have to stay here any longer if you want to go with him now..." he finally says, his voice gruff and deep. Moon Ryeong tilts her head, puzzled as to why he has suddenly rejected her attention.
"I just saw you hugging that man in front of the gate," Helios replied coldly. Moon Ryeong leaned back, attempting to make sense of the scene. She then smiles as she understands what he means.
Helios is still attempting to avert her stare and is unaware that the lady is smiling at him. Moon Ryeong delicately touched his cheeck with her palm, causing the great vampire to gaze at her. He is taken aback when she abruptly cups his cheek; when he looks at her, she is staring at him earnestly and smiling, which is unusual and perplexes him.
Moon Ryeong moves closer, softly closing her eyes and planting a kiss on his lip. She begins to probe his pale lip, leaving the vampire stunned and speechless in his position.
She wants to be honest and open about her feelings for him from now on, so she continues to kiss him passionately. She is madly in love with him.
