NOLAN I have been restless since Olive found out about my real identity. And though I said I wasn't going to tell her anything because I can't tell her my reason for hiding my identity, but will wait until she is ready to talk, I felt I had chosen the wrong option. I felt telling her the truth will have been the best option to choose but that will put her in danger. That put the rest in danger too. They will become my weakness just like the parent. I was worried after I tell her, I will want to let my guards down. And when I do, it will be the end of me. I couldn't trust her. Trusting people had been a difficult thing for me. Looking into what had happened to my parents who had lost their lives because they trusted too much and also thinking about how I had been betrayed twice, trusting has become an issue. There was no way I would tell her the trust. And there was no way I would accept being the ruthless alpha. I had come up with a perfect thing to say. There wasn't any other prove except for the phone call and the mask. I could just tell her I noticed she likes the ruthless alpha and I was only trying to act like him by having a fake call. I can also tell her, I saw the mask and brought it home and wanted to try it on. Though the plan sounded perfect, I had a thought Olive would believe me completely. All through the night, I couldn't sleep. No matter how hard I tried, my eyes weren't ready to close. My heart kept beating so fast and I wondered why?. I wondered if my heart was beating this fast because I misses her face or maybe I have fear of losing her if she doesn't believe me. I kept pacing around the room, wondering what she was doing right now. I wondered if she was asleep or can not sleep like me. When I noticed the ray of light, I knew it should be morning already, so I headed for her room. She was asleep. I wanted to wake her up so we could talk but I changed my mind. I sat down on her couch watching her sleep for a while. She seems peaceful and I doubted if she was angry with me. I also doubted if she had a sleepless night. When she stretched a bit, I stood up to leave. I do not want her to wake up and see me. I walked to the window and opened the curtains slightly. Giving her the last look, I headed back to my room. ** I was dozing off when Bella rushed into my room. I was furious she disrupted my sleep but when I saw the way she was breathing so heavy, I knew something was wrong. "W-what's wrong?. Are you ok?" I asked She nodded. "Yes. Actually, no. Olive is leaving". I batted my lashes. Olive is leaving?. "She is leaving the fire pack. We've been trying to stop her but all have proven abortive" I furrowed my brows. Olive is leaving? And Bella had to run all the way here to tell me Olive is leaving and all their attempt to make her stay back had proved abortive?. I was surprised to hear that and it was difficult to believe it also. I wondered if Bella was trying to play pranks on me. "Are you being serious?. Or you're joking?" I asked suspiciously. She scoffed. "Do I look like a joke? Huh?. She's leaving for real!!" I rolled my eyes. "She is leaving for real?" She nodded and I furrowed my brows. Why has she thought that leaving was the best option?. I sighed. "So what do you want me to do?" She frowned. "Did you just ask me that?. Are you not supposed to come to talk to her?" I groaned. Now I understand why Bella is here. She has come to tell me if I would be able to tell her to stay or rather, ask why she suddenly wants to leave. "If you can't stop her, do you think I can?" I asked. Though I knew the answer, I wanted to hear her view. She shrugged. "I suppose. You brought her here. You should be able to talk to her" I sighed. Bella knew nothing about what is going on. Only me and Olive and maybe Nigel know what is going on. I suspected she might have said it to Nigel because he had been acting a little bit strange. I also knew she was leaving because of the thing she heard me say on phone. I knew she wanted to leave because she now knows my secret. I had thought she would be so angry and come yell at me but I had never thought she would think of leaving the pack. I wondered if Nigel knew about her leaving from the onset. I wondered if he supported her to leave. Maybe they had a conversation together and he agreed that leaving was the best option for her. I couldn't help but wonder why she thought leaving was the best option and why she wasn't ready to listen to everyone that has tried to stop her. Why is she leaving?. Has she forgotten she made a promise to me?. I could still remember when she said she was going to be my luna. She has told me I was weak and she would protect me. Where are all the promises she made?. I guess finding out I am the ruthless alpha makes her think I won't be needing her anymore. "You ain't saying anything," Bella said I sighed. "I can't make her stay back, Bella. I can only persuade her but if she wants to leave, she must have her reason for that. I..." "Is there something going on?. Do you guys fight?" "No, we're good. I think she just needs space" "I don't believe you. I can tell something is wrong. But right now, you have to follow me downstairs to talk to her before she leaves. We can talk about other things later" I sighed and stood up. "Pass me my shirt" She handed my shirt to me and we headed downstairs. ** Like Bella had said, Olive was leaving. She was already close to the gate when I got there. I stood afar off watching how Ella and Nigel were trying to stop her from leaving. Bella turned to face me. "Ain't you going to go closer to her?" I shrugged. "I don't think that's necessary. She doesn't want to stay" Bella frowned. "What did you just say?. I came to your room so you could make her stay and all you have to say is, she doesn't want to stay?" "You don't expect I force her to stay, right?" She scoffed. "You're so annoying. I am going to join the rest. You can as well stay here alone" I watched her leave and I shrugged. Why are they trying to make her stay?. Can't they see she is determined?. Can't they see all their plans to make her stay is not working?. Why do they keep begging her to stay?. For what reason do they think we will be needing her?. If she thinks running away now is the best option, I can't go against her option. I will let her leave if she wants to. "Nigel, let her go," I said. Everyone stared at me. I could see the shock in their eyes. Even Olive could not hide her surprise so quickly. She stared at me but looked away quickly. I sighed. "She wants to leave. Let her go" Nigel furrowed his brows. "What are you saying?" "You heard me. If she wants to leave, she can as well leave" I answered "Nolan, what has come over you?" Bella asked "Y-you want her to leave?" Ella asked "You can go with her if you want to" I answered Olive finally spoke up. "Ella, go take your bags, we are leaving together" "I can't leave. My mate is here" Ella answered "We aren't wanted here. We are leaving!!!" Olive yelled. I could tell she was furious. I could tell she was angry. From her voice, even her look. When Ella spoke up, I was surprised at her response. I thought she would go with her but instead, she said, "I am not leaving, Olive. And I know you don't want to leave too. Why can't you just settle whatever has happened between you and Nolan amicably? Why..." "There is nothing to settle. If you don't want to leave, you can stay back. I will go and nobody should try to stop me", that was Olive's reply. I watched Olive drag her bags out of the gate. They kept calling her name but she wouldn't answer. Bella turned to look at me. "You won't stop her?" She asked I nodded. "I won't" "Then consider me your enemy, from today!!!" She yelled and ran off. Ella stared at me. "I had hoped you will make her stay but I guess I was wrong. You never wanted her in the first place". I couldn't say a word but only watch her ran off too. Nigel stated at me and without saying anything walked out on me. I sighed. If Olive wanted us to talk, she would have stayed. She wanted to leave. She has her reason for leaving and there is nothing I can do about it. I stared at the gate hoping she would open it and walk in, smiling, and then she will say, "you thought I was going to leave, huh?" I waited for a while, but she never showed up. I stared at the gate for the last time and right there I knew she wasn't going to come back!!!. She is never coming back!!!
