Chapter 10 IX. THE GUESTS

There's a man with a terrifying aura. His face was red and with his whole appearance alone he seemed to be burning with anger. He had black wings and a black halo floating above his head. It was like Aki's but hers was gray. His clothes were red and black with the style like royalty in the TV shows. He had a pair of sharp red eyes, almost like Aki's eyes when she was angry or annoyed. The close presence of this man was never desired by anyone.
With him was a very beautiful woman, she seemed to be an angel with a very gentle face. She wore a white dress with a gold hem. It fitted her perfectly. She had a golden halo and a pair of pearl white wings.
"Què fas aquí a Mhortaeo? Com m'has trobat? Em vas seguir?" (What are you doing here in Mhortaeo? How did you find me? Did you follow me?) Aki asked one question after another.
'She's back to her old language,' M commented on Aki's incomprehensible language. Although he did not know the meaning of those words, he knew that there was a complete shock and annoyance in Aki's tone.
M gasped when he saw the terrifying man grinning in front of them.
'Who are they?' He was unable to ask Aki in his panic.
"És un bon començament per als teus pares?" (Is that how you greet your parents?) said the eerie man. He then laughed gently yet full of arrogance.
While the sophisticated lady who was with her just folded her arms and stared intently at Aki.
"Torna a Vandeshna," (Go back to Vandeshna) said the young lady in an authoritative speech.
"No hi aniré," (I don't want to) Aki answered, shaking her head while stepping backwards away from the two guests.
'Based on Aki's resemblance to these two, I can say they are her parents,' thought M.
He was about to leave and give the three some private space. He also shouldn't be there while they seem to have an argument.
"M."
But when he started to move his feet, Aki immediately called him out. She clung to his arm as if pleading him not to leave her. Her eyes were asking for sympathy.
Because of what Aki did, he was now being stared at by the two people he thought were her parents. M just swallowed and faced Aki again. "You three talk first, I'm just gonna be in the kitchen."
"Hm-hmm." Aki shook her head repeatedly before saying, "I don't want to go with them. I want to stay here."
"You know their language," the terrifying man commented in slight amazement.
'He also knows a language I can finally understand,' thought M.
"Why do you want it here?" asked the lady. They know how to speak English and Aki was the only one who didn't know the language.
"How do you know their language?" Aki asked her parents.
"What's your name, son?" The woman turned to M ignoring her daughter's question.
"M. It's M... M," he stuttered.
"M," repeated the sophisticated angel. "Strange name. Anyway, I am the mother of Aella—"
"Aki." They all looked at Aki's interjection into her mother's speech. "They call me Aki here, Forci."
"—of Aki," continued the lady after briefly closing her eyes. "Just call me Xeina. And this gentleman here is Rhazen, Aki's father."
"Come here, kid." Aki's father waved his hand.
M was filled with panic again. He couldn't figure out whether he should come closer or run away to save his life. The man in front of him was truly terrifying.
"Y-Yes?"
Aki tightened her grip on his arm when he tried to approach her father.
"What will you do?" she asked Rhazen.
"I just need to clear his memory."
"He doesn't know anything yet, Victo. Don't touch him." His chest tightened and his nervousness grew because of Aki's conversation with her father.
'What am I not supposed to know?'
"Are you sure?" Rhazen asked his daughter and gave M a scrutinizing look. "Okay."
"I won't go with you."
"Cin—"
"I don't want to leave here." Before her mother finished her sentence, Aki immediately objected. She tightened her grip on M's arm even more, almost hiding behind the latter. "M," she said again in a pleading voice.
He cleared his throat that was clogged with intense nervousness. He tried not to stutter as he spoke. "Ahmm... Miss Xeina, Sir Rhazen, Aki doesn't want to leave. Ahmm... You know, she's my sister's friend, hmm..." M couldn't find the right words to say. He admits that he wants to oppose them taking Aki away, but he doesn't know how to say it or if he had the right to object.
He remembered his sister, how can he explain it to her? He knew Mharc liked Aki's company very much. He never saw her that happy in the past.
Xeina laughed softly at the actions of her daughter and the young mortal in front of her. "We're not forcing you to leave here, Cin."
She glanced briefly at M before turning her attention back to her daughter. "The real reason we came here was to help you. We know you're having a hard time in Vandeshna and you're still looking for the right place to stay. Now, if you want it here, we'll let you."
M smiled slightly but Aki was still frowning, staring at her parents. She knew them very well. She knew that they would not just agree to whatever she wanted.
"But there are conditions."
'Just like what I've expected,' thought Aki.
"I'm home!"
Aki and M's eyes widened as they looked to the direction of the front door. Mharc was home and they didn't want her to see Aki's parents.
