Chapter 78

Nearly the dawn, the sun would peek through the curtains soon. Probably everybody in that tall building was sleeping but the one in the middle east still had lights on.
"All done." Taking a yawn, she outstretched her arms. She was finally done with the dishes and she was heading toward her room now.
Sanaya stepped into her room carefully on her tiptoes and the first thing she saw was him. Nick was sleeping on one side of the bed soundlessly. He seemed to be wearied.
Seeing him doze, she let out a sigh. He would probably stay with her if she wouldn't have sent him forcibly.
Sanaya looked at the wall clock.
Tick! Tick! Tick!
'Let's take a two hours sleep.' She slowly made her way towards the bed. She got on the bed slowly and then laid down. A sigh of comfort left her mouth as soon as her body enveloped the soft bed.
A tough day it was!
When she turned the lights off, Nick turned his head towards her. Thinking he might have been disturbed, she held onto her breath.
But unlike she thought, he kept his eyes closed and held her hand rather. 'Did he wake up because of...'
Sanaya was observing his movements. He seemed to be sleeping but holding her hand. Surprisingly, he gradually tangled his fingers with hers.
'I woke him up...' She was waiting for him to open his eyes but he didn't do anything. Worried if he woke up or was asleep, she moved a little close to him and saw his chest going up and down. She sighed.
She could still remember how sad and miserable he was looking back then, just like a scared kid.
'Good night.' Sanaya strode some strands of his hair over his forehead and bussed his forehead. A tough day went by, they had to be strong.
She tried all she could to cheer him up and somehow thankfully, it worked.
The next morning
"Wake up... Hey, wake up." As if someone was pulling his hand, Nick could hear a familiar voice so close to him.
"Nick, wake up." He felt someone pulling his hand again. This time he opened his eyes and he was amazed.
He sat on the bed and stared at his wife who was the one pulling his hand. She was still holding his hand.
He contended, "Good morning."
"Good morning." She proclaimed.
Nick took a look at her, from head to toe, and implored, "Are you going anywhere?"
"Hmm but not only me but us."
"Us?"
Sanaya bobbed her head and grabbed his hand again. "Wait, what is this about?"
"We are going to tour today." She replied to him and started dragging him towards the bathroom. Nick with half-opened eyes as he was still weary questioned her, "Tour? Tour to where?"
"That's a secret."
"Huh?"
Sanaya pulled him into the bathroom and declared, "Take a shower first. Breakfast is ready. After we have breakfast, we will leave."
"..."
Closing the door from outside she smiled. She set an alarm so she could wake up on time and prepare everything. 'I am gonna make you happy today.'
After breakfast as Sanaya was about to walk upstairs, he suddenly held her hand, hindering her to go upstairs from behind.
"..."
She didn't give him chance to ask her questions. Instead, she whirled around toward him and told him, "I will go and get ready first. Kyle will be here soon with your clothes so wait there." She pointed her fingers towards the couch.
"But...."
"Go."
She quickly ran upstairs, leaving him standing alone and quiet. She was ready for a trip indeed. Some times passed, and Kyle already sent the clothes.
Unusually, she was taking more time today to get ready. Nick was already prepared, he was waiting for her while sitting on the couch.
"Nick, can you come up for a minute?" Unexpectedly she called him.
Hearing her voice he quickly wandered upstairs. He sauntered into the room and looked around. His jaw plummeted at the sight of her.
Sanaya was putting on her earrings when the bangles in her hands were making a jingling sound. As she saw him through the mirror she smiled and turned around.
She was smiling at him, effecting him to be speechless and blab, "Here." In her hand, he saw a beautiful vermilion box.
He remembered the day he helped her to drape her saree and she looked so beautiful. From the day of the wedding to today, she was always beautiful. Nick found himself unable to take his eye off of her.
"Nick? Are you listening?" As she saw him to be dazed, she called him.
"You look so beautiful." He contended in a stupefied tone.
Sanaya chuckled at his compliment as she heard him, "Do I?"
"Hmm."
She broadened her hand more toward him and affirmed, "Are you gonna keep staring at me? I am waiting..."
"Ohh." Nick saw the vermilion box before too so he knew what could be in it. Sanaya closed her eyes and he opened the vermilion box.
As she opened her eyes, she saw him still looking at her. As if he was possessed, he kept staring at her.
"Let's go." Pulling him out of his daze, she held his arms and was walking out of the room but as suddenly her phone started ringing, she looked at the screen.
"Give me a minute, I will be back soon." With that, she stepped away.
Nick glared at the vermilion in his hand and a smile left his mouth.
"What is it? Mona."
From the other side of the call, Mona's voice sounded uneasy but alarmed. "Mr. Virat is here waiting in the reception. I told him that you won't be coming here today but... But he still insisted on waiting."
"What?"
"Yeah, sis Sanaya. What should we do now? He seems to be waiting here regardless of the time."
"Let him wait then. He will leave after some time."
"But sis, can we do that? I mean he is still a powerful man, he can help..."
It was least expected that he would stop chasing her anyway. Sanaya looked at her behind once and then answered her, "We can't take his help. Let him wait and leave after some time. He will leave anyway."
"Ahh... Ok then..."
Sanaya remembered she made it clear to him last time that she did not want him to help her and she did not know go what reason he wanted to meet her again. The first time he left such a bad impression, she was not concerned about meeting him.
Stepping out of the room as she saw Nick, she ran to him. Holding his hand she smiled at him and blurted out enthusiastically, "Let's go, hubby."
'Hubby...' He was stunned. She seemed to be happy though.
"Where are we going today?"
"You will see."

Since when I was teen, I seldom imagine myself being the person referred from the book or novels I have read, and somehow dreamt of having it happen in my life.😍
