Chapter 94
"Sis, but..." Mona was out of words as she heard Sanaya. She did not what to do. It was already unexpected to the extent that she would like to think it was only imagination but...
"Do as I am saying. Get the divorce papers ready and book my flight by tonight." Sanaya ordered so in a serious tone. Mona's jaw plummeted as she heard her.
"Sis, are you going back to India?"
Sanaya stared at the space, she was enumerating something.
"I know I am talking out of place. But sis, I know you love Mr. Davis more than your life. Is there something that you have to divorce him and even go back to India? And why so soon..."
Mona looked down as Sanaya hurled a paper on the table angrily. "That shouldn't be your concern. Do as I am saying and remember apart from us, nobody should know about it. Got it?"
Mona saw the cold stares of hers. Yeah, she could be sad and maybe angry too, but why that look? Mona couldn't ask her any more questions but left the room.
It was too much for her to understand and far more she told her to not tell anybody about it. What was going on?
Soon time flew. From morning, now it was night. As Mona stepped into the room, she saw Sanaya be ready. Seeing Sanaya struggle to tie her hair, Mona quickly ran to her. "Sis, let me help you."
Mona was helping her with the hair when Sanaya stared at her. She could see how sad her assistant was. "I have already talked to Danielle, you will be..."
Not giving ear to her words, Mona sauntered away and asserted, "Here are the divorce papers. Your flight is at 10 pm." With those words as she was about to leave, Sanaya held her hand.
Mona stopped and sighed sadly.
"Take care of yourself more. You tend to take care of others and neglect yourself. Kyle is a nice guy, I am relieved to see you with him... I know after I will be gone, you guys will take good care of Nick. I..."
"Why... Why are you doing this? All of a sudden..." Mona turned towards her and asked.
"I... I am tired." She responded in a lower tone.
"Lies. It's all a lie. I saw it with my own eyes, you love him. If there's nothing serious then you would never divorce him and..."
"Mona."
Mona turned around again to hide her tears. Sanaya sat on the couch and looked at the divorce papers. She never thought one day she would divorce him. Even when she thought he was cheating on her, she did not think of really separating from him.
"Must you do this?"
To Mona's question, Sanaya took the pen and announced, "Sometimes we can do the best for our beloved ones is to stay away from them... It's enough to see them happy."
"Sis, did someone force you? It must be that Virat, right? Sis, if he did it, you don't have to..."
"Nobody... I am doing this on my own..."
"I don't believe it. You must be hiding something from me."
Sanaya smiled at her and taking the divorce papers from the table she asked her, "Is my luggage ready?"
"I..."
Mona could no longer stay there, she couldn't see Sanaya act that way so she didn't utter any more words but walked out of there. As she left Sanaya giggled, "This is the most I can do for him... It's best for us, Mona."
Sanaya signed the papers without shedding any tears. After signing the papers, she left the room. Just like she was promised, there were no guards outside to see her go.
Sanaya sauntered into Nick's room, outside nobody was guarding the door. As she stepped in, she could see him sleeping on the bed looking the same as he did this morning.
She placed a kiss on his forehead and grinned when a drop of tears left her eyes, kissing his cheeks. She touched her face and smiled again.
"Sorry, I am not strong like I thought. I can't do anything but divorce you... Nick, sorry." She nuzzled her nose against his nose and gently placed a kiss on his lips. Droplets of tears were falling on his face as she was crying, the moment finally came. The moment she was going to go apart from him. Standing beside the bed she touched her tummy. Would he be happy if he was to know about the news she wanted to tell him once he would woke up? She wondered...
Getting a massage on her phone, she walked toward the door. She wiped off the tears and put on a fake 'I-am-ok' mask. Just before opening the door she turned around and took a glance at him, "Wait for me to make everything right, Nick. We will meet soon again, I promise. Till then... Be safe, my love."
It didn't take much time to reach the airport. Outside the car, Mona was taking out her luggage. As Sanaya grabbed the luggage Mona turned around, on the way she didn't talk to her at all.
"I am leaving, you won't talk to me? Mona."
Mona stood still, declining to talk. Sanaya smiled and took her hand, surprising her. Giving something in her hand she contended, "This is the key to my apartment. From now on, you can live there."
Mona stared at her and Sanaya saw her teary eyes. Smiling at her Sanaya suddenly hugged her. "Don't cry, I am just going back to my home. If God wants, we will meet again."
"Sis, tell me na what happened to you. I will solve it and..."
"Nothing happened, silly girl." Sanaya protested.
"I know I am just an assistant, you don't want to tell me. But..."
Hearing her Sanaya looked at her. She wiped off her tears while blurting out in a low tone of voice, "You are not only an assistant but my sister too."
"Then why don't you..."
"Take care of yourself and everyone well." Sanaya started strolling towards the gate and Mona gripped her hand. She still wanted to stop her. "After Mr. Davis wakes up, he will look for you. He is healed yet, do you want him to..."
"He must not know I am going back to India."
"What?"
"When he wakes up, don't tell him where am I, get it?"
"But why..."
"I have my reason. I can't explain."
"Sis..."
Sanaya turned towards Mona, the one last time she was seeing her. Sanaya was prepared for all this. When she was leaving, she did not even get to meet Mrs. Elisa, Aiden, Kyle, and so many people. She could only leave like this since she was not left with any more choices.
"I am leaving, goodbye. Mona."
Mona burst out in tears as she saw Sanaya walk in. Mona ran towards the gate while screaming, "Sis, please don't go. Sis, please..." The door closed, and Sanaya was walking farther and farther away. Mona could only see her from far.
When Sanaya finally woke up this morning, she thought everything was gonna be ok again. She thought Sanaya was gonna stay happily ever after with Nick but... In less than twelve hours, Sanaya not only divorced him but also, left LA. Was there no turning back? What was happening? Why so confusing? Mona felt like her head was about to explode. She couldn't take it anymore. She sat at the place and started crying like a baby. 'Why did not I stop you? Why couldn't I? What will I tell them when they will ask me about you, sis? Why did you leave? I thought I finally have an elder sister and it's going to stay that way forever but why ...'
While sitting on the street she could hear the announcement. She had no hope now. Sanaya... She was gone.Download Novelah App
