Chapter 98
Sanaya's whole family, including her long-distance relatives, were more than shocked when they got to hear that he was her husband.
"So, you guys are married for more than two years already?"
"No, he is lying. They... They are already divorced." Virat walked toward them while trying to explain things.
As he took a step toward Sanaya, Nick held her hand and stood before her, making sure Virat could not reach her. "Divorced? Who told you that may I know? Mr. Virat. Of course, if you don't mind."
"I... I know that. She signed the papers, I saw it with my own eyes... I mean..." Suddenly understanding what he was saying as Virat put his hand over his mouth while looking for alternatives Nick couldn't help but giggle.
When Virat was about to say something, he only chose to keep his mouth shut for some time. Nick in a serious tone asserted, "I think you didn't expect this to happen so soon... Don't worry, you will be getting more now than you imagined. "
"What?" Virat was surprised. What did he mean exactly?
Nick stared at her and then smiling at Virat he announced in an intense tone, "Officer."
In no time police with constables came in view. They surrounded Virat and Virat all surprised, asked sounding a lil annoyed, "What.. what are you doing?"
"Mr. Virat, we are here to arrest you for the murder of Miss Marina and all your illegal activities." The police offered to announce so. As soon as he heard the officer, Virat denied it. He chuckled, acting as if he was trying to put a stop to his laughter but he was failing to do so. "I am so sorry, officer. But I couldn't help. Can you say it again, please? What did you come here for?"
"Mr. Officer. I think you misunderstood something. Virat is a very good boy. These are false allegations against him." The old man protested. He stood on Virat's side. When everyone was waiting for the truth to be unfolded, Sanaya kept staring at Nick only. Wait, how much did he know and how? Probably Mona told him? But it was unlikely as Sanaya warned her not to tell him anything...
"You are a respectable man in our city, might be that's why you don't know, Mr. Roy Chowdhury. Mr. Virat had done a lot of bad things but every time, the police failed to catch him just because of a lack of proof. He not only killed his ex-girlfriend but he even attempted to kill Mrs. Davis and also, Mr. Davis. We must thank Mr. Davis, he helped us a big time."
"What?" Sanaya's mom looked at Virat with utter shock and the police continued, "Yes."
"You... You tried to kill my daughter?" As Sanaya's mom asked so in a furious tone Virat immediately blew it away. "No, aunty. Believe me, they are lying. I..."
"Officers, please take him away." Sanaya's dad volunteered while glaring at Virat angrily.
Virat still kept denying everything. As the police were to take him away, he looked for her grandpa's help but even the old man this time was disgusted. He was standing still, surprised.
"Grandpa, you know me. I love Sanaya very much, I can never harm her. I mean it, grandpa. You know me, they are lying grandpa." Virat denied going with the police and this time Nick added fuel to the fire, "Officer, I hope you won't neglect your duty. He dared to hurt my wife, I know what to do if you don't do your job nicely. He has to pay a lot yet in the LA."
"Rest assured, Mr. Davis. He can't escape this time. Yes, Mr. Davis. I will be going then." With the sudden tone and words of the police officer, everyone understood that Nick was not some ordinary, powerless man. Even the police officer and honorable men bowed to him. Regardless of all the crocodile tears of Virat, they took him away. As they left Sanaya gaped at him. There was still a little cut over at some corner of his forehead that she could see it. From the side of him, she saw him be somewhat distinct.

Police took Virat away. Sanaya was surprised actually. She had planned it all before, she was going to give all the evidence to the police but what she didn’t think was that Nick would be here like this.
“How did you…” she asked him in a hazy tone.
Nick turned his head towards her and just when he was about to say something her mom wandered toward her. “He tried to kill you, did you know it?”
Sanaya smiled awkwardly and glared at her. “Oh my God, how can he do this? Since you knew it then why didn’t you tell me?”
“It would not… change anything anyway so…”
“Sanaya.”
She smiled sadly and looked in the space, “I told you everything. Even after knowing it all, you did send me to marry him.”
“That… I know it’s my fault. I believed what he said but…”
“It’s ok, Maa.” Sanaya forced herself to smile. She did not want to make her mom sad though she was not happy. She knew that Virat could take in her but she still hoped her mom would not do that since she knew Sanaya was pregnant but…
“Oh dear, thank God. He stopped the wedding at right time or… wait, he…” Seeing her uncle puzzled sanaya held Nick’s hand tightly and Nick glared at her. She walked a little ahead facing everyone.
“Everyone, this is my husband, Nicolas Davis.” She announced before everyone’s eyes. With wide-open eyes, they started chatting when Nick was only glaring at his wife. This was the first time she introduced him to her family. He was a little bit nervous but happy.
“Husband? She is already married? Since she is married, why they were trying to marry her off with Virat? Maybe they did not know. But whatever you say, this guy seems rich and handsome too. He must be a good husband. He might be from another religion… He seems to love our San very much. The way he stopped the wedding was so awesome... How romantic!”
When everyone was chattering, the old man was so furious and so her father was. Her mom seemed to like Nick.
“Jiju, ami Manya.(Brother-in-law, I am Manya.)” The youngest member of the family ran to Sanaya and Nick with great excitement. She was 16 years old, she had a good relationship with Sanaya before she left the house.
Nick seemed to not understand what she said. “Ami Man(trying to pronounce what she just said)… Ahh”
Surely since he didn't understand Bengali. Sanaya grinned and explained to him, “She said she is Manya, she is one of my cousin sisters and the youngest member of my family.”
“Hello. Manya.” Nick contended.
“Jiju, apni sei Nicolas Davis na je akjon bikhyato businessman ar jar pic…(Brother-in-law, are not you the Nicolas Davis who is a famous businessman and whose pic…)”
“Ahh sorry, I don’t get it.”
Manya seemed curious so Sanaya helped her with all her queries. When the relatives heard that he was filthy rich and he had both fame and power they were more stunned. The people who were saying earlier that she did wrong and that since she married a foreigner she would suffer, were now stifled. They no longer seemed to dislike Nick.
Both Sanaya and Nick were staring at each other and talking through their eyes when suddenly her dad wandered toward them. He gaped at Nick for a moment before grabbing Sanaya’s hand while announcing in an angry tone, “What nonsense are you mumbling? How can a guy from another religion be your husband?”
“Dad, I am telling the truth. He is my husband. We…”
“Shut up!”
As her dad was about to take her away from there, he pulled her in one hand. Nick grabbed her hand and let out, “We are married. I know this is a surprise for you but…”
“You… Don’t meddle in.”
Nick was not ready to let go of her hand. He didn’t want to let her go anywhere anymore. But suddenly Sanaya looked at him and whispered, “Don’t worry. I will go and talk to him. Then I will be back to you as soon as I can.”
“But…”
Sanaya looked at her dad and as her dad let go of her hand she walked to Nick. She caressed his shoulder and kissed his cheek. When her mom smiled, her dad coughed. Sanaya leaned in closer and whispered in his ears, “I will be back soon. Wait for me to come back, I have a surprise for you.”
“Surprise?...” Nick took a gape at her dad and then kissed her forehead. He let her hand to slowly, “I will wait for you.”
Before walking away Sanaya looked at her mom and her mom smiled at her. “Don’t worry, I will take care of my son-in-law.”Download Novelah App
