Chapter 40 ONE WEEK
During one week at her parents' house, Clara did not tell her at all about what happened at her house.
Mrs. Ellen wanted to ask, but she was afraid that later she would have to make Clara remember that problem. But now Mrs. Ellen will ask more clearly before Clara's problem gets worse.
Now the two of them are in the living room, and Mrs. Ellen accompanies Clara to watch television. Clara had been laughing at this funny scene, making Mrs. Ellen unable to bear to ask about her family's problems.
"Clara, try to be honest with me. What happened in your household? You haven't even wanted to go home for a week," said Mrs. Ellen, Clara, who was staring at the television near her mother, turned her head. Staring at Mrs. Ellen with a look that was difficult to interpret.
"Clara, do you remember what I said? If there is any problem, tell me, don't keep everything to yourself," Mrs. Ellen said again, making Clara exhale in resignation.
Clara exhaled, she changed her position to sit, which was originally lying on the couch. Staring into Mrs. Elen's eyes, who stared at her, required an explanation. "I'm really in trouble Ma'am, this is about me and also my in-laws," Clara answered, making Mrs. Elen's forehead wrinkled to hear that.
"What problem did you face, Clara? Why didn't you tell me?" Mrs. Ellen was afraid that this problem was even bigger than before. "We also won't forget what you said, right? Then why don't you want to tell you?"
Clara looked down for a moment before she looked back at her mother. "I want to tell you, but it feels like—"
"Just tell Clara, don't be buried alone. I am here, I will provide a good path for you."
Clara nodded, she knew too and what Mrs. Ellen said was true. "Mrs. Katy is sick at the hospital. Smith told me to accompany her to the hospital if I have free time," Clara paused and looked at Mrs. Ellen.
Mrs. Ellen was still silent, listening to Clara's story. Until Clara finished telling, then she would say something.
"But when I was going to accompany her, she kicked me out. At first, I refused, because I was afraid that later she would be alone in the hospital. If there was something I didn't want, I was afraid of who would be blamed." Mrs. Ellen nodded, confirming what Clara said.
"She kept forcing me to go home, even yelling at me. I finally came home, but it turned out that when Smith visited his mother at the hospital, his mother slandered me and said that I was the one who left her alone at the hospital," said Clara, looking at Mrs. Ellen who was very serious listening to the story.
Mrs. Ellen shook her head in disbelief, with what Clara told her. "Then Smith believes you or his mother more?" asked Mrs. Ellen.
"He must have trusted his mother more, in fact, that night I was yelled at by Smith, and that was the first time I was so angry with Smith," Clara replied sadly when she remembered that it hurt her heart. "Even Smith who usually would listen to me didn't, he still chuckled at his mother saying I was wrong."
Mrs. Ellen gently stroked Clara's shoulder, she understood how Clara felt at that time.
"Smith should also listen to an explanation from his wife, it's okay if he trusts his mother more. As long as he respects his wife's words first," said Mrs. Ellen, still stroking Clara's shoulder gently.
"Maybe you have said so far because there's no way Smith would be that mad at me if I didn't make a fatal mistake," Clara replied. Smith's emotions were ringing in his mind. Even if he couldn't get rid of it.
"I also know that Mrs. Katy doesn't like me, but why does she hate me so much? It even made Smith angry at me." Clara was annoyed again, she couldn't accept that Mrs. Katy always accused her like that
Mrs. Ellen smiled, hugging Clara's body from the side. "Just be patient, Clara, that's the risk of being married. There are problems, not just one or two problems, maybe more," said Mrs. Ellen, Mash hugged Clara's body from the side.
"In a household, problems do come up a lot. And you must always be patient in dealing with these problems, especially problems with your in-laws. That's a normal right and you also have to get used to the attitude of your in-laws," continued Mrs. Ellen explaining to Clara.
Clara nodded her head in understanding, she also knew that household risks were big. But somehow there must be a way out of everything #he's been through.
"Then, you don't want to go home after you were angry with your husband?" Mrs. Ellen asked, remembering that Clara had been at her house for a week.
Clara shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, I want to stay here first. I'm too lazy to just go home," Clara answered, making Mrs. Ellen exhale in resignation.
"Never mind, don't think about it. Every time you leave for college, you don't run into Smith on the street?" Ask Mrs. Ellen.
"No, I've never met him. I'm also a bit lazy when asked to meet him," Clara said, making Mrs. Ellen look directly at her.
"Hey! Don't be like that! He is also your husband, don't say that," said Mrs. Ellen, making Clara just grin incoherently.
Clara exhaled, she broke away from Mrs. Ellen's arms. "It's better for me to study, rather than remembering household problems that are so complicated. Especially the problems with my parents-in-law, maybe I'll go crazy if I keep remembering them," said Clara.
Mrs. Ellen laughed, hearing what Clara said. She was happier, seeing Clara who was not so deep into the problem and could forget the problem quickly.
"Okay, Mom, I want to go out first, lock the main door, OK?" Clara nodded her head. Without turning her head, she walked to her room to study for her college preparation.
Clara lay down on the bed and she missed Smith but for some reason, that feeling of disappointment was still inside her.
"Uh! Just try not to scold me like that, maybe I'm still at home," Clara retorted curtly, but she quickly dismissed the thought.
"Forget it! Let's study, tomorrow's class has started!"
Clara finally chose to study, rather than think about her parents-in-law and other household problems. Because education comes first, then later.Download Novelah App
