JENNIFER'S STORY: 2

Jennifer's POV
Of course, he ended up quarrelling with me and left the house. He also didn't bother to drop me off as he had promised.
I entered the cool living room in Romans mansion after I have been ushered in by the door maid.
"I will go inform Miss. Eliora." she said, I nodded and she left.
I sat on the couch with a deep exhale staring at every corner in the room. It was admirable and stunning. Romans always had the best taste.
Eliora gave birth prematurely causing her some minor casualties but out of fear, Romans figured she stayed in rehabilitation for a while. As soon as I got a notification that she has returned, I didn't hesitate to visit her.
I also wanted to see the new baby, Rina.
"Look who is here." I heard her smooth loving voice and I turned with smile on my face.
"Eliora." she spread her arms wide open and I embraced her tightly.
She didn't know how much I have missed her.
Romans restricted everyone from having any kind of contact with her. We were broken for months until now.
"I missed you so much, you are looking so tall. How have you been?" She said as we sat together on the armchair. Holding hands.
"I have been good. I missed you so much, I didn't have who to confide in these current issues." I said with a small smile on my face and she tapped my hands.
"Everything is going to be alright. I also can't believe Romans would lock me up for months." she said sarcastically with a wink and I laughed shortly.
"That's not jail, at least you enjoyed luxurious." I stood up.
"Look at you, you are all fat. I would have mistaken you for a pregnant lady." I teased her and she laughed.
"Stop it girl. I'm not so fat, am I?" she fringed sadness and I smirked.
"Alright. I need to see my godchild, you and your husband succeeded in keeping me away from her for ages." I said as though I was threatening her.
"Sure." she laughed as we walked into the elevator, advancing upstairs.
"How has Romans been treating you?" I broke the silence soon after the elevator ding open, she smiled.
She pulled the door open as I stepped into the bedroom. The air condition first flushed on my face welcoming me to the main room, I closed my eyes for a minute.
"Fine. He has always been good to me, you know that." she said and I nodded.
"Oh! Sweet child." I rushed over to the baby that was lying in her cot.
She was dressed in peach, looking so beautiful. I would call her the replica of Romans.
The eyes, the lips and the golden hair were the same. I poked her cheek softly with a smile on my face.
"Baby Rina..." she chuckled.
"And you? How's Desmond?" she broke my peaceful moment a few minutes later.
She walked away from us, facing the big window that showed the dazzling evening city. I waved shortly at Rina and strolled closer to her.
"Well, you already know the story... don't you?" I tucked my hands into my back jean pocket as she turned to me.
"Jenny... there is one thing I need to ask you before we proceed." she faced me sounding serious.
"And what is that?" I curled my lips staring at her with curiosity dancing in them.
"Do you love Desmond?" the question came so unexpected that I stared at her in daze, unable to process the right word.
I loved Desmond but his attitude lately was kinda alarming. I was becoming scared. What if I end up loosing everything?
I exhaled heavily and faced her. I knew a time like this would come. I have to cross this stage and have no doubt on someone that has been with me for four years.
"Yes. I do." I nodded in affirmative.
"What are your fear?" she questioned and I sighed.
"Why all these questions?" I rolled my eyes away from her, feeling annoyed.
"I don't mean to annoy you, babe. Just answer me sincerely." she said calmly with her hand resting on my shoulder, I nodded.
"I'm afraid that my parents won't acknowledge him in the end." I said dolefully before facing her again.
"And what do you need your parents for? Aside for their acknowledgment?" she raised a brow staring at me. I pursed my lips for a minute trying to take in all her cynical words.
I could vividly tell that she was leading to somewhere.
"Nothing more. I have my own fund that could sustain me and I can take care of myself without them." I said cryptically unsure, with my lips curled.
"Then follow your heart. Don't be afraid. Your parents will have no choice but to accept him when you make the first move." she said vividly while nodding her head.
I was perplexed at first before I made a comeback.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Leave your parents and choose Desmond over them." she bent over and whispered softly to my ears, her words sent chills up my spine as my gaze increased in astonishment.
"WHAT!!?" I screamed uncontrollably.
"Trust me." she reassured me with a broad smile.
I was still unsure and confused as to what she meant.
Should I abandon my parents in the name of love?
"So, what should I do and how do I start?" I asked impatiently waiting for her response.
Her statement made everything to dawn on me. I couldn't believe I have been foolish all these times without having this idea.
"This is what you need to do." She paused and walked closer to me.
She whispered some words softly to my ears and my gaze increased on her.
"Are you serious? Will this work?" I panicked.
I was trying to be on a safer side. I wouldn't be able to recover the loss, if ever it fails.
"Trust me." She nodded her head, looking more serious than she would ever be.
She placed her hand on my shoulder and I sighed in relief.
If someone was to tell me that Eliora would change into a matured sensible woman, I wouldn't have believed.
Immediately, my phone started ringing.
