She was checking her nails as her demons beat up the three of us. Both Azriel and Merikh were just wearing their pants. For whatever reasons, she had their shirts off. Probably to see if her demons can make them bruise. They were beating up Merikh this time and my throat has been burning from all the shouting, begging them to just stop. Azriel tried his best to stay up, standing tall, and not letting Bernael see he’s getting weak. “Oh. My. God! Will you shut the fuck up?!” she yelled at me, standing up from her throne. She presses her perfectly manicured fingers on her forehead, “you know what, you and you, take this Nephilim out of my sight. Torture her, kill her, fuck her. I don’t care. Just get rid of her,” she swayed her hand like she was trying to swat invisible flies. “Bernael, I am warning you, don’t –“ She motioned her hand to quiet Azriel, “zip it, sweetheart. You talk too much.” I heard their quick conversation as her demons tried to take me away. *** “Okay, enough,” Bernael commanded her demons. The three of them stopped beating Azriel up. They parted to get her a view of him. He has bruises on his stomach, chest, and arms. His lips were busted, bleeding from all the punches. He didn’t fight back, he took every blow. Merikh was weak but he’s getting more furious with every beat his brother was taking. He wanted to fight back but he couldn’t. He couldn’t do a damn thing to help his brother. Then he saw Bernael’s head abruptly lift up, her face was unreadable. He heard some grunting that’s echoing in the hallway. “What the hell is going on?!” she yelled, “what are you standing there for?! Go and see what’s happening!” The demons ran towards the commotion, leaving Azriel and Merikh laying on the ground. She lets out a frustrated sigh. “Great, just fucking great,” she whispered and started to pace. Then they heard Azriel laugh, she stopped her pacing. “What the fuck are you laughing at?!” she asked, walked towards him, and kicked him on his stomach. She walked back to her throne, she was about to sit down when she sees a shadow walking towards them. She slowly stood up straighter and took a few steps forward. Azriel chuckled again then he groaned, as he tried to sit up. “You’re in for a treat, Bernie,” he said, coughed and spat some blood out of his mouth. He wiped his lips with the back of his hand and tried standing up. He limped towards his brother. Azriel helped his brother up, then he hears Bernael gasp. She stumbled walking backwards, “no,” Bernael was wide-eyed, “this…this can’t be.” He looked where Bernael was looking. He turned his head and he sees Mia stab the last demon. She may be bloody and limping, her hair unruly, but she walked straight to his and Merikh’s side. “You still think I can’t beat you?” Mia asked. Azriel can feel her anger. Her wanting revenge. She simply just wants to kill this bitch. *** Bernael’s face turned from surprised to cunning. She gave a sinister smile at me, “oh, sweetie, I never thought you’ll ever beat me because you never will.” “That’s it?” I sarcastically asked. “That’s it? What?” she was looking irritated and confused. “Your come back. That was it? I was actually expecting something sassier, considering.” “Considering what?” “That you’re a grade-A pain in my ass!” my voice boomed. “And that’s how you do it.” “You are fucking annoying, you know that?” she commented. “Try living with her,” Merikh said, then groaned in pain. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at Merikh, mouthing “what?” He just looked at me and slightly shrugged his shoulders. I looked back at Bernael. I can see that she’s pressing down whatever anger she’s feeling. Her chest was rising higher than normal as she breathed. I walk towards her as she walked backwards with every step. “So,” I started, “what’s your role around here? I mean, what’s a fugly bitch like you get to play puppeteer?” She rolled her eyes at me, “my role here is to finish what they were too fucking weak to finish!” “And that is?” “Making earth the new Hell.” "Oh really? Do tell.” “Beleth opened the gates. What do you think the reason was? For fun? Lucifer led the apocalypse. But do you have any idea why and how it even started?” I furrowed my eyebrows at her. It was her turn to laugh. “Oh, you poor thing. You don’t even know, do you?” “Know what?” “That your father dearest started it.” “That’s not – it can’t be.” “Oh it is, sugar. He died a few years ago. Went to Hell for it. And do you know what the first seal was?” “The first seal is broken when an innocent man breaks and tortures a soul.” “Very good. You know your Bible,” she smiled, “and your daddy, did just that.” “You’re lying,” I gritted my teeth. “Am I? In return for his resurrection is none other than,” she paused for a moment, “you.” “You lying, bitch!” I charged towards her, taking her by surprise and punched her in the face. She pushed me back and I slid a few feet away. Azriel healed himself and Merikh while I distracted her. She walked towards me, grabbing me by the shirt and threw me to the other side of the room. “Hey!” a voice shouted from behind her, she turned around and Merikh swung his staff at her. She was able to avoid it then Merikh took another swing, and she stopped it with her bare hands, the sharp end pointing towards her chest. He pushes his staff as hard as he could. She fought and pushed him back, sending him off to slide a few feet away from them, leaving his staff on the ground. Azriel took this opportunity to strike her with his sword but she was quick enough to grab Merikh’s staff and block the hit. As the two of them fought each other, I crawled towards Collin’s body on the floor and whispered an incantation in his ear. I immediately stood up and raised my hand at Bernael and flung her to the wall. She grunts as she hit the ground, dropping the staff. Azriel picked up his brother’s staff then ran to Merikh to help him up. She stood up, limping, and her shoulder seemed dislocated. I watched her place a hand on the upper left part of her chest and push her shoulder back to its socket. It made a loud crunch and the three of us just looked at each other, somehow grossed out. I walked towards her and threw another punch at her, she blocked my knuckles then punched me on my stomach. I grunted but was able to fight her back. We were punching each other with a little threat here and there then Azriel yelled my name. I looked over at him and he threw Merikh’s staff. I caught it in a nick of time and fought her with it. She was able to avoid the hits and fights back with punches or kicks. “In case you’ve forgotten,” she said, pausing, “I was once an angel. I know how to fight.” “Oh, I didn’t forget. It’s just really fun to annoy the shit out of you.” Then I swung the staff to her shin, making her fall to her back. I took a few steps back until I reached the two brothers. She stood up, her face is red from rage. “You are really getting into my nerves!” she shouted, “everything that’s been going on was my doing! And I can’t even get this fucking Nephilim away from the both of you!” I stepped in front of Azriel and Merikh, “what is your goal here? You want me for what? Close the gates of Heaven? Open the rift to Purgatory? What?! Or is this just some kind of a desperate attempt to show the angels, and maybe even God, that you did not deserve to be a fallen angel?! Was that it?! Because as far as you’re concerned, you followed Lucifer’s footsteps! You did that to yourself and you don’t get to play the victim here, and act like a child throwing a damn tantrum!” “You got some nerve,” she replied, “how dare you say that I needed to prove myself. I don’t! I deserve the throne! I orchestrated everything! Your mother’s death. Your father’s. Summoning Beleth. Everything! I am the best! I deserve everything!” She stopped near where Collin was laying, “Collin! Now!” Merikh yelled. Collin stood up wrapped his arms around her, trapping her. She was startled, “I killed you. I…you should be dead! Why are you alive?!” “Guess you thought we’re going to come here unprepared,” Collin replied. Azriel walked towards them, “we’re not alone, Bernael.” One by one, the angels appeared. Her eyes were getting wider in shock. She was panting, trying to break free from Collin. “Don’t fight it,” a deep voice said from behind then he walks around to face her. “Uriel,” she whispered. “It’s time, Bernael. It’s time we take you back.” She violently shook her head, “no, no, no!” She continues to shriek as Uriel takes her away from Collin. The other angels guarded her, while the rest helped Uriel to hold her down.

This story reminded me of Supernatural and Constantine, with its blend of supernatural elements and thrilling action. At first, I was skeptical, but the author's reveal was flabbergasting, leaving me eager for more.
Your word choices are exquisite, enriching my vocabulary. The writing is so clear and engaging, even when I was sleepy, I could visualize the scenes.
This is a true masterpiece! I was gripped from start to finish, shocked by every twist. I crave more of this world.
