After we watched Bernael getting dragged by Uriel and his army of angels, we looked around for Elliot. We’ve searched high and low in this maze that Bernael once called home but we couldn’t find Elliot anywhere. We were about to give up when we heard a faint howl, followed by a whimper. We were afraid that it might be a werewolf trying to trick us, then I remembered that he was a Skinwalker. I ran towards the sound of his low howl and the trio ran behind me. When we reached Elliot, he was chained in a dark cell. His only light was coming from the moonlight that was shining through. Seeing him in his dog form, a black Doberman, with cuts and a seemingly beaten-up body made me want to kill Bernael myself. We stood outside the cell door, looking at him. He suddenly moved his front paw, like he was motioning for us to come inside and get him. I transported myself inside the cell and slowly walked towards him, “hi Elliot. It’s me, Mia.” I slowly knelt down in front of him, letting him smell my hand. I saw his tiny tail wag. I carefully pet his head, “I’m going to get you out of here, okay?” He carefully moved slightly to tell me that he understood me. I stood up and went to the wall where the chain was. I tried yanking it but it was too thick. I couldn’t break it. I stepped aside when Collin and Merikh appeared on my side. The both of them pulled it out of the wall effortlessly, I turned my head to Elliot and saw Azriel kneeling down behind him – healing all his wounds. He wasn’t reacting at all. Turns out, Azriel got him to sleep with just one touch. Another perk for being an angel. While he was healing him, I carefully opened the cuffs around his neck that they made into a collar with my own angelic powers. Azriel woke Elliot up with another touch. He immediately stood up, startled but he was okay. He smelled us one by one, his tail wagging. Collin tried his own powers to get the five of us out of the cell. He raised his hand towards the door and it busted open with a loud boom. “Why didn’t we do that in the first place?” Merikh asked as we got out. “Because Elliot is in his dog form. Loud sounds startle dogs,” I explained. We went back upstairs where we were earlier when we were fighting Bernael, Elliot led the way. Then he started growling by the archway leading to Bernael’s throne-looking chair. “What’s the matter, Elliot?” Collin asked as we walked up behind him. He was growling, an angry growl to be exact, and looking at the figure standing by the throne. Azriel seemed to recognize the back of this figure, “Uriel? Why are you still here?” he said as he slowly walked towards him then he stopped. Uriel’s body dropped to the floor, revealing Bernael holding a bloody knife who pushed him down. She looked at Uriel’s corpse then her gaze shifted at us then smiled. “I see you got your pet back,” she said, pointing at Elliot, who was growling at her like a Hellhound. She stared at him until he whimpered as he fell to the ground. “Bernael, enough!” Azriel shouted, his voice was loud and angry. We heard thunder outside. Azriel is so furious he made it rain. Elliot quiet down, he’s still alive and panting, but he was weak. Too weak to stand up. Collin knelt down and made him sleep, then he stood up slowly as he glared at Bernael. “What did you do, Bernie?” Azriel asked, well, kind of demanded. She rolled her eyes and chuckled, “did you really think that if you use that tone with me I will get scared?” she laughed loudly, “it never scared me before and I am sure as Hell, it wouldn’t scare me now.” “What did you do?! Answer me!” She rolled her eyes again, “fine. I killed Uriel and his army, happy?” “Why?” “Why? WHY?! Because I am not yet done with your fucking Nephilim!” I walked beside Azriel, “what do you want from me?! You already took everything! My mom. My dad. What else do you still fucking want!”
One side of her lips went upward, she was smiling. “What I want? I wanted you to suffer. I wanted you to feel the pain of losing everything you hold dear.” “I didn’t do anything to you! Whatever shit you got yourself into, that’s on you!” “You didn’t do anything to me, yes, but your mother did. She’s the one who sent me to exile! As revenge, I got her killed. Stephen Roth was easy to manipulate. All I ever did was dangle his entire family to accept my offer. What’s the offer? It was to turn him into a vampire. The catch? He has to get you. No matter what it takes or else,” her eyes shifted to Collin, “his whole family will die. Then I found out he turned all of them into vampires. Haha! I have no idea why, it’s not like I couldn’t kill them.” She snickered then she walked down the platform where her throne is standing, she turned to face us again, “and then, and then, your boyfriend here, Merikh. Yeah, I used his weakness against him. I got his grace. I gave it to Roth to use it as leverage and get Merikh to hunt you down.” I glanced over my shoulder, Merikh was getting furious. Then I turned my head back to Bernael. “Then Azriel showed up at the right place, at the right time,” she paused, “he asked his dear brother to help him. What was he going to do? A witch, Rory, asked for his help to keep you safe. It was the perfect opportunity! Not only will he be closer to his target, but it was also his chance to gain your trust. Then he ruined it! He called the whole thing off! Why?! Because he fell in love with you, no less!” She shook her head, “oh Merikh. You’re a weak, motherfucker.” “Don’t you see, Mia?” she continued, “all of this, everything you’ve gained, was because of me. You lost your parents, sure, but you gained a best friend, a boyfriend, and an angel. Too bad he wasn’t rolled into one person, huh? Honestly, you were supposed to die months ago.” “Yeah, I know. The Djinn was supposed to –“ Her laugh cuts me off. “I’m sorry. Hahahaha! A Djinn? Bitch, what are you talking about? I never sent a Djinn! I was talking about the werewolf! You know that woman. Whatever her name was. She was supposed to kill you but you outsmarted the bitch. But a Djinn? Really? That blue bastard? I would never! No! Whoever sent that, it wasn’t me. I mean, those things will send you someplace in your mind where everything you dreamed of is happening.” She paused and walked towards me then she grabbed my face. “I relish in your pain. What made you think I’d let them take you to your dream life?” she whispered to my ear and let go of me. She turned her back and without any second thought, I swung my hand. I sent her off flying to the wall, she lets out a groan as she tried to stand up. I seemed to walk real fast ‘cause the next thing I knew, I was behind her and grabbed her hair. She screamed at me, yelling to let her go. When I reached her throne, dragging her behind me, Azriel held her up and sat her down. She was yelling at us to stop then Merikh placed a hex bag in her mouth while Azriel held her down. I snapped my fingers and she was stuck on her chair. She was trying to speak but all we can hear are muffled sounds. I walked up to her and bent down to her ear, “first rule of fighting with me, don’t turn your back ‘cause I will make damn sure that you will never get to turn around ever again.” I stood up straighter, then Collin stood in front of her and stared down at her. “Adiuro te pro omni malo, quod feceris,” he started, “Oramus Dominum, omnes angeli et omnes sancti, sumite hoc malum, et ducite illud ubi est. Oramus Dominum, omnes angeli, et omnes sancti, te rogamus audi orationem nostram!” Collin repeated the prayer over and over until she started convulsing. Her eyes were shedding blood, so did her nose. A light inside of her shone through her skin, her chest rose up as the light were coursing through her and exited from her eyes and mouth. Then she laid lifeless on her throne. Head resting on the backrest, a bit tilted to her side. Merikh walked towards Elliot who was still asleep, Azriel followed him then he knelt down to wake him up. He got startled again as he got up but this time, he was calm and just waiting for us. A gush of wind suddenly filled the room, Collin and I turned around and saw an angel standing in the middle of the room. He seemed older than the others. He walked towards Bernael’s corpse. “Shame,” he said, this angel has a British accent, “this girl had so much promise. Really. She just threw it away, for what? Revenge has always been in her heart.” He turns around to face me and Collin, “I’m Balthazar. One of the Archangels.” We shook his hand, “so, who did this? All of you, I presume?” he asked. We nodded then he turns his head to look at Merikh and Azriel, “you two. Come.” The both of them walked towards their brother like two little kids about to get scolded. When they reached him, Balthazar gave both of them a big hug. He placed both his hands on their cheeks, “I am proud of you, boys. Both of you have always been a team,” he paused and looked at Merikh, “I am extremely sorry for not defending you during your trial. I have no excuse nor an explanation why I missed that day, and I apologize for not being a brother to you.” Merikh held his brother’s hand, “it’s fine. I understand,” he said and smiled at him. He lets go of both of them and then he snapped his fingers. We were brought to the town where I parked the truck. “What’s going to happen to Bernael?” I asked. “She’s already rotting in Nowhere. There’s no need for you to worry or even think about it. Let her rot away,” he chuckled, “alright, I have to go back over there and make sure they clean everything up.” Balthazar was about to leave but he turned around to face us again, “go home. All of you. Rory and Russo are probably getting worried already. You deserved the rest. We’ll take it from here. So, please, no more stopovers. We’re all kind of tired of begging to let all of you live another day,” he said then he chuckled as he said goodbye and just disappeared. We started walking towards the truck. “Shotgun!” Azriel shouted and ran towards the passenger’s side. When he opened it, Merikh was already sitting there. The smile on his face disappeared then he grabbed his brother’s shirt and pulled him out. Collin laughed as he rode on the driver’s side. I went to the back compartment and fished out some of my dad’s shirts that he kept in there as a spare. Then I sat at the backseat beside Merikh, tossing him and Azriel the shirts. I looked at Merikh and I smiled at him, then I laid my head on his shoulder. Elliot sat beside me, still in his dog form, then he laid his head on my lap. I placed my hand on his head and petted him. “Ready?” Collin asked us. “Yup, let’s get out of here,” Azriel replied as he wore his seatbelt. The four of us drove off and went back to Reno Beach where our new enchanted hideout is.

This story reminded me of Supernatural and Constantine, with its blend of supernatural elements and thrilling action. At first, I was skeptical, but the author's reveal was flabbergasting, leaving me eager for more.
Your word choices are exquisite, enriching my vocabulary. The writing is so clear and engaging, even when I was sleepy, I could visualize the scenes.
This is a true masterpiece! I was gripped from start to finish, shocked by every twist. I crave more of this world.
