Chapter 10 OFFER ACCEPTED

"Is this your house daddy?" Avriell looked around at the house we entered.
The house is very big but it seems that no one lives here. My daughter started walking in the middle and looking up, obviously amazed at what she was seeing. We used to live in a condominium or an apartment. So she seems overwhelmed by what she sees now.
Clyden walked closer to Avriell and pointed to a door on the second floor. He even lifted her up so she could see what he was talking about.
"The pink door, that was your playground." He said before putting Avriell down.
"Mine? But this was not my house," she answered confusedly.
"Everything you see is yours, even the house." He smiled at her.
Avriell jumped in so gladly.
She walked closer to the table and pointed to the vase.
"Even this?" Avriell asked.
Clyden nodded.
Avriell pointed at the painting in the wall again and Clyden nodded.
She pointed to the couch and her father nodded.
Every nod of her father made her giggle.
"You are both safe if he was at your side." Suddenly the driver who was next to me spoke, I thought he didn't follow us here inside.
"I'm not asking for your opinion." I cursed and was tormented by him.
"I'm not asking for your reply." He mocked how I rolled my eyes and how I said my response to him.
I couldn't answer anymore when he walked closer to Clyden. I also approached Avriell who was still jumping in so much happiness. I stop her and make her sit on the couch.
"Are not you tired?" I raised an eyebrow at her while fixing her messy hair.
She just shook her head because she was still amused about how the house looks. I hadn't even tied her hair properly when Clyden picked her up and gave it to the driver.
"Go with him first, okay? Go play with him upstairs. Your mom and I will talk." He said softly to her.
Avriell immediately nodded but I disagreed. I approached and forcibly took Avriell from the driver and put her down next to me.
"In the room with him with my daughter? No..." I shook my head. "I don't know him, I can't trust your driver. Maybe later on he will do something to my daughter while they are upstairs"
A already got traumatized.
The driver was surprised by what I said. He raised his eyebrows and looked at me. I don't know why but I noticed the small smile on Clyden's lips because of what I said. Did I say something wrong?
"Driver?" He pointed to himself in disbelief before looking at Clyden. "You heard it, she said I am your driver? F*ck! This is your fault, I owned the car and yet I am the driver of yours? I hate this."
That makes me silent. Well, I don't know that he was the owner because he looked like Clyden's driver, really, because he follows him everywhere. I do not know.
"His name was Dan, a friend of mine, not my driver nor your driver." Clyden introduced him to me nicer.
"Driver.." Dan frowned because he still couldn't accept what I said.
"Even if I still don't want to, she will stay by my side. I don't know him." I still stand.
"I know him." Clyden calmly said.
"But I don't...." I gave him a piercing face.
I saw how Clyden stopped himself from getting mad, he was keeping himself calm. I noticed that Avriell wanted to speak but she didn't know how to start it. Not until Clyden gestured Dan to take Avriell again and this time I couldn't stop them because he already blocked me.
"What the hell?! Go away! If something really happens to her, I won't forgive you!" I tried to remove his grip on my hand and waist.
"Mommy, I'm okay! The driver will take care of me!" Avriell said while laughing.
"I will not," Dan disagreed because of what my daughter said.
I didn't pay attention to that and still tried to release Clyden's grip on me. He sighed as I still didn't stop untying, I will not stop! Not until he lifted me up so easily to make me sit on the couch and suddenly pulled a gun from his waist and put it on the table in front of me. I didn't expect it.
While I was in fear because of the gun presence, he was so normal to sit on the other side.
"If something happens to her, shoot me." He pointed the gun.
I don't know but in that way I felt like I calmed down. I don't know if I was scared because he was carrying something like that or if it indicated that he was not capable of hurting Avriell because if that ever happened he would let me shoot him.
Thank him and I can't k*ll someone even if what he did to me was not acceptable.
"Avriell wasn't here, don't act like you really care about her which is obvious that you are using her to make me say yes to your offer." I was the one who spoke first because I noticed that he was just waiting for me to talk.
He sighed, disappointed or something. Is he thinking that I will thank him? Never!
"The opportunity that I was offering to you is only yours, nothing more nothing else, my daughter is no longer involved in that." He said seriously.
"My daughter..." I corrected him.
"Our daughter..." He corrected me too.
I rolled my eyes at him and looked away.
"You know what, can we try to talk without arguing? Can we?" He tried to talk to me properly.
"No, what am I, stupid?" I whispered softly but I didn't expect that he would hear it.
"This woman..." he breathed in patience.
I didn't hear another word from him after that, instead I felt him stand up because someone called him on call. I was about to go upstairs to escape him when I heard him mentioning Trina's name.
I immediately felt nervous that's why I came closer and waited for him to hang up the call and so I can ask.
"You said Trina? Am I right?" I want to clarify what I heard.
"Yeah, your friend." He nodded and put down the phone. "Media thought that she was you, that's why we were able to leave without any hassle because of her. One of my people saw her and the bad thing is, the media totally rushed her until she got hurt accidentally."
I didn't think about her anymore. What kind of friend am I?
He showed me a picture that made me feel guilty. It was Trina, she had so many wounds and how she looked before I left her was so different. Her hair is a mess, her makeup, her clothes, obviously mobbed by the media.
"It's my fault," I couldn't help myself to be sad.
"It's not the time to blame yourself," he took his jacket and put it on. "One of my lookups followed her and she is with them now and safe. She almost refused but he agreed later on when I sent a pic of Avriell and you that you're safe. You will stay here, I will pick her up here, it's safer."
I agree immediately.
"Please make sure she is safe, please." the first time I pleased him.
"I thought you didn't know to ask and talk to me properly, it was a nice progress." He muttered but also nodded.
He passed me and took the key from the table. He was about to open the door to move out when I called him by his name.
"Clyden..." I called him.
He didn't talk and looked at me but I knew he was waiting for what I would say.
"About the offer....." I can't take this anymore, Gezel has already reached my limit, all of this is too much.
I can't watch it anymore and just let it go. I don't want to adjust for her forever, I already did my part. It's time for payback.
"We can talk about that when you go back." I said with full determination.
I didn't wait for him to reply, instead I went upstairs to look for Avriell. When I opened the door, I saw her sleeping peacefully on the small bed while Dan was on the small couch. He also fell asleep but because of his height only his head and a small part of his body fit on the couch, the rest, on the floor.
I looked around the room. It's so messy, it's obvious that Avriell tried to play with all the toys that were here, she looked tired and so she fell asleep. I fixed the mess calmly because they might wake up. I also tried to take the teddy bear she was hugging but every time I tried to pull it, she moved and hugged it tighter so I decided to just let it and stopped. I just stopped fixing when I heard the door open, Dan woke up and moved out of the room. He may have seen me cleaning and so he moved out.
I didn't say sorry about what I said to him, he looked kind and respectful. I was just being overreacted but never mind. I lay at the side of Avriell while waiting for Clyden with Trina.
An hour later. It made me sit when I heard a car arrive. I kissed Avriell's cheek before going out. And I was right, it was Trina and Clyden. I feel more guilty when I actually see her.
"I'm okay, it's just a small wound, it's not hurt that much." She said when she noticed how I looked at her.
The guilt still hasn't disappeared from my face. I was about to get a handkerchief and ice for her wound but it looked like Dan already expected it, he was already holding the things I needed to help Trina's wound.
"Is this Ruiz's driver?" She pointed at Clyden. "He was driving so fast, it seems like my life is in more danger to him. This driver seems like a having a nine lives if---"
"Trina.... Shh," I try to stop her from talking.
"Why? It's true--Aww!" I firmly applied ice to its wound. "Are you mad at me? It hurts!"
I looked at Clyden and Dan slowly because of what Trina said. Dan's expression was so obvious that he was almost to explode in laughter, his face was so red, while Clyden, I could not see any emotion but the way he held the key, there was anger because of the extreme tightness.
"They are really friends," Dan chuckled to him.
