Chapter 3 Order Of The Firefly

Alamia remains kneeling while her hands are carrying Semfes whose eyes are closed yet he remains breathing.
Revior's eyes are white as his mouth is open while his whole body is pinned on the ground by a long orange lightning rod.
"I should have assisted you back there," she whispers, "yet I just stood there as I watched you suffer for my safety."
Her tears fall on his face, and then she raises while carrying Semfes in her arms.
Her fishing rod remains floating beside her, and then she turns quickly beside her only to see a woman staring at her as she remains standing in her position.
"You're!" Alamia gasps, "Ranaliantra?"
"And you are the one who gave her life to resurrect my mother," Ranaliantra closes her eyes and she chuckles, "without further ado, we've sensed something intense transpiring here, and now we know that it was only you."
She moves her calm eyes in a certain direction, and her eyes remain calm. "I see, a Nagbabagane, no wonder your friend is lifeless.
"A Nagbabagane has a level of flame rivaling the intensity of lava, and it is believed to manipulate lava and magma."
Alamia narrows her eyes a bit at Ranaliantra, and her fishing rod ties its fishing line around Semfes' abdomen; the fishing rod lifts him from her arms.
Alamia steps closer to Ranaliantra and both of them are looking at each other.
Alamia closes her hands. "Don't you dare say that once again or I might beat you?."
"Understood," Ranaliantra inhales deeply, "I might have offended you and I am sorry.
"Now, can we bring you and your living friend to our cabin? So that we can heal you and talk to you about what occurred here."
Alamia opens her hands as her eyes calm down. "I apologize for what I said. Please, heal him."
A man is running in their direction and Ranaliantra turns in his direction.
She says, "Oh, it's Tobias."
"Tobias?" Alamia turns in his direction, "wait, is he the one that's–"
"Yes, he is the one," Ranaliantra sighs, "he's the one who loved pranking us."
"He's like a kid isn't he?" Alamia said.
"A kid?" Ranaliantra looks aside and spits on the ground, "more like an idiot."
Tobias halts in front of them while regaining his breath. He looks at Ranaliantra with lessening eyes. "You're so harsh!"
Ranaliantra looks away from him. "I don't care."
"Okay, okay!" Tobias inhales deeply, "like an educated person, I'll just let this slide. I just want to go home and take a rest."
Tobias closes his eyes, and his whole body is starting to be covered by silver. His whole body begins to expand while his height is increasing; reaching the skies.
Tobias is now gigantic, his body is made of silver and it's muscular, and his head symbolizes the head of a serpent.
"Let's go." Tobias moved his gigantic silver hand toward the two women.
Alamia hops toward his silver palm whilst Ranaliantra steps toward his silver palm.
Tobias settles them on his large shoulder but Ranaliantra remains standing while Alamia is sitting, and the fishing rod remains levitating beside Alamia while carrying Semfes who remains unconscious.
Alamia inhales deeply as her eyes are narrowing while looking down, and Ranaliantra is gazing at her and then she moves her calm eyes toward Semfes.
Afterward, Tobias returns to his normal form while the two women along the fishing rod are walking inward to the entrance of a large cabin.
"Is she okay?" Tobias mumbles, "I can sense something that will happen."
Meanwhile, Alamia and Ranaliantra are standing beside the bed on which Semfes is settled and resting.
Ranaliantra turns her eyes toward Alamia, and she remains calm. "Are you thinking about something, Alamia?"
Alamia says, "If only I'm stronger that time then he shouldn't need to protect me. If only I could protect him but what I got is a fishing rod and nothing less."
Ranaliantra calmly says, "Yes, you are weak. You are a useless woman who couldn't even stand for yourself."
Alamia's eyes are widening as she remains gazing at Semfes. Her heart is beating fast and her hands are shaking along with her trembling breath.
Ranaliantra closes her hands. "Do you think that you can keep him safe from a Nagbabagane? A creature capable of manipulating lava?"
Alamia looks down. "I-I can, I can do–!"
"Do what?" Ranaliantra turns herself toward Alamia, "what can you do if both of you encounter a relentless beast?
"You're just going to stand on one side and watch him die while fighting, right?"
"Stop scolding me!" Alamia turned toward her and released a force of water from her mouth.
Ranaliantra jumps away from the water and she lands on the nearest wall, hence, she jumps toward Alamia and swings her foot toward her face.
Alamia falls and her buttocks hit the floor. She looks upward and a purple energy spear is pointing in front of her.
Ranaliantra swings her purple spear away from Alamia and throws it toward the wall.
"Now, I can say that your victory against me was just how good your luck is," Ranaliantra snaps her fingers, "wake up, Alamia, being a woman doesn't mean that a man will be needing to fight for the sake of your life.
"All genders must be equal in all things. You're not just a woman but a fighter as well."
Alamia yells, "You speak too much! You're just lucky that you're strong, powerful, and can do whatever you want!"
"Being strong, powerful, and being able to do what I want is not just a thing that I gained so easily" Ranaliantra remains looking calmly at Alamia, "I didn't wake up in this state nor did I seek to be like this! I trained hard every day to survive."
Ranaliantra turns away from her. "Even if it rains or not, I continue to train myself countless times just to gain this power, unlike you, a woman who did nothing.
"You are a human who needs to be protected, and a human who truly depends on her comrade not on herself.
"In other words, you're useless."
Alamia looks down as she begins to weep with heavy breathing; her tears fall in a gentle stream down to her chin.
Ranaliantra closes her hands and fixates her eyes on Semfes' mug. "Is there a day that you asked him if he was tired of protecting you? Is there a day that he was at peace knowing that you can defend yourself?"
Alamia arises and she runs toward the door whilst Ranaliantra doesn't look at her as she leaves the room.
Alamia scrambles from the room and runs in a certain direction.
The door begins to move forward and Tobias enters the room while looking aside.
"Oh, finally," Ranaliantra turns toward Tobias with calm eyes, "Just so you know, I've taught her a lesson."
"Ranaliantra, I think your words penetrated her heart," Tobias looks at Alamia, "she was crying so bad when I saw her running."
"Let her be, she needs to learn about being independent," Ranaliantra told him.
"This man," Ranaliantra points her index finger at Semfes, "you fought him didn't you?"
Tobias smiles gently. "Two words: strong and fast."
Meanwhile, the sun sinks from the horizon.
In a village, in front of a desk inside a guild, two men are standing in front of the main desk.
Romina hands them a folded paper. "Both of you will need to go to Radiant Forest to investigate what happened to the other missing adventurers."
"Thank you," Hackilion gently grabs the paper from Romina, "we'll be heading there immediately."
Romina raises her eyebrows. "What about the beneficiary? We got some carriage and knights."
Hemetus yawns while walking towards Hackilion and Romina.
Hemetus replies to Romina. "Who needs carriage and knights? If you have a friend who can command rocks to fly?"
"Shut up." Hackilion rolled his eyes.
Henceforth, both of them are sitting above a thick branch of a massive tree with multiple sharp dark stones which emerged from its body.
Both of them are wearing clothing that has the same look as the thick branch they're sitting on.
"We're going to remain here, right?" Hemetus asked.
"Yes," Hackilion replies calmly, "we will wait for the mastermind of the missing cases."
The wind begins to blow gently over them, and both remain staring everywhere not until Hackilion's eyes grow a bit big.
"I found him," Hackilion whispered.
On the ground, a Nagbabagane is standing in front of a round gateway.
He begins to point his dark large hands at the gateway; his palms radiate red light until a big force of flame emerges from his hands.
The flames hit the gateway, and glowing red letters are appearing on each rock. The rocks release a strong force of flames which spreads everywhere.
Hackilion and Hemetus leap from the thick branch whilst the Nagbabagane flies away and bounces on the ground.
Afterward, the flames left some burning trees, Hackilion and Hemetus landed on the same branch whilst the Nagbabagane arises from the ground.
Hemetus' eyes are widening while breathing faster. "What were those flames? It's stronger than mine."
"I know you realized something but hold on tight," Hackilion told him.
Hemetus closes his hands and it shakes aggressively. "I felt like my pride had been crushed."
Hackilion narrows his eyes at the Nagbabagane. "He's doing something."
The Nagbabagane is sitting in front of layers of wood, and then he points his finger at it and smoke are occurring from the woods as particles of fire are emerging from it.
Henceforth, the woods begin to burn and the Nagbabagane chants multiple unknown words.
"Why won't we attack him?" Hemetus bites his teeth, "so that we can question him."
Hackilion raises his hand at Hemetus. "Calm yourself, and your anger as well. If we attack him or go all out on him, then we will no longer have the creature which is the beholder of the answer to this mission."
Hemetus inhales deeply and opens his hands as he looks at Hackilion. "Fine! I'll listen to you this time, and then I won't obey you next time."
"Fine by me," Hackilion told Hemetus.
The flames in front of the Nagbabagane begin to release large smoke, and a humanoid figure whose skin is dark, whose eyes are red, and dark red flames on its head can be seen by the Nagbabagane.
"What is he doing?" Hackilion pointed his index finger at the smoke.
Hemetus' eyes broaden. "Impressive. He uses a type of flame that only those with a higher form of fire can see."
"So, what is he doing?" Hackilion asked.
Hemetus remains looking at the smoke. "He's talking to his kind but it's different from him. The one that he's talking to seems to be superior to him."
"Superior? That means, if that creature has a superior then does that mean that they have an army?" Hackilion said.
"Bullshit, every species has–!" Hemetus' eyes are widening, "what if… what if they're preparing for something?"
Meanwhile, the Nagbabagane kneels in front of the humanoid and says, "Lord Arak, the portal won't activate by any means, I have poured the greatest percent of my fire yet it doesn't work and always ceases to function."
Arak inhales deeply. "That is not your duty as of now, Revior. I am truly disappointed that you've slaughtered the humans that you've captured."
Revior bows his head. "I am very sorry, but if you'll give me a chance to–"
"I am giving you a mission to redeem yourself from your failure," Arak raises his hands and a face of a young man occurs from the smoke from the layers of wood, "I want you to catch this little boy and he will be the key to our salvation."
Revior moves his head upward and his eyes behold the presence of a boy, and he bows his head once again. "You will never expect disappointment from me, my lord. I will fulfill your request because I believe it will lead our race to our success."
"Follow me, do everything I desire, and you shall receive your wish," Arak points his index finger at Revior, "tell me your biggest wish."
Revior's dark lip curves upward as he moves his head up and looks at Arak. "I want to be with my daughter, I want to see her once again and give her the love that I have."
"It warms my heart knowing that you remain loyal and devoted to our race," Arak begins to fade away, "do heed that I will grant your wish after all of these."
During the interim, Semfes' eyes begin to open, he arises and looks around him only to see multiple trees with numerous fireflies flying everywhere.
He moves his eyes downward only to see sparkling yellow grass, and he gently touches the grass and his eyes widen as a smile manifests on his calm lip.
"The last mystical dragon's successor, Semfes Alshian," a female humanoid is walking towards him, "it's an honor to meet you, young man."
Semfes shifts his eyes to where the voice came from, and there he sees a tall beautiful lady whose hair is white and long, her eyes are gold, and her skin is pale; she has a curvaceous body, and feminine clothing that exposes half of her bosoms, and her abdomen.
"Who are you," he began to arise, "you look unrealistic to my eyes."
"I am Fami, and I am the spirit representing the fireflies," she halts near Semfes, "I've helped you once to decide upon Alamia's disappearance."
Semfes rubs his nape. "So, you were the one that sent that firefly?"
Fami chuckles. "Why do you look pale, my child?"
"Well," Semfes looks upward, "I almost kill the firefly. Yeah, and I'm struck by your beauty."
Fami raises her hands a bit, few fireflies fly towards her hands; they gather on her palms and radiate bright yellow light.
Afterward, the fireflies fly away from her palms and all of them surround Semfes' head. He moves his eyes upward and raises his eyebrow.
"You are my chosen champion to stop the forthcoming conflict between humans and Nagbabagane," she points her hand at Semfes, "the conflict might end humankind. I want you to get stronger, and more powerful."
She steps closer to Semfes and kneels in front of him and moves her pale lip towards his lip; until both of their lips touch.
Semfes' eyes widen as orange lightning wings emerge from his back, and an orange lightning tail emerges above his buttock.
Fami moves away from Semfes, and then Semfes' brown hair is turning to orange, and his eyes turn yellow. His orange lightning wings disappear from his back along with his tail.
"With my power mixed with Vixo's power, you can end this conflict," she arises from kneeling, "search for the lady with the Y, and deliver her away from the Nagbabagane."
"Wait," Semfes narrows his eyes, "who is this lady with the Y? Where can I find her?"
"Search deep within your heart and listen to it, for your heart will tell you when your eyes lay upon her," Fami calmly tells him, "you will need to bring her away from Arak.
"Arak is the leader of Nagbabagane, and he is planning to seek the lady with the Y; by eating her, he can transcend to another level, and that level of his will even surpass me."
Semfes' eyes widen as he shakes his head while looking at Fami. "What if I fail? What if I break your expectations?!"
"You will never break my expectations." Fami chuckled and went closer to Semfes and kissed him on his forehead.
She steps away from him. "You are Semfes Alshian, you've defeated Eshirem, and you managed to warm the cold heart of Vixo. You are greater than what you think."
Semfes looks down and moves his hands closer to his eyes. "You're right… I can trample any difficulty that will come to me! I accept your offer!"
Fami begins to levitate, and she remains to stare at Semfes with a wide beautiful smile on her lip. "That's it! That's the Semfes I know."
Semfes starts to close his eyes as a gentle breath of wind blows toward him. His eyes mimic a smile as his lip curves upward.
"I'll protect that lady," Semfes says, "for the sake of humankind, I'll do everything in my power."
