Chapter 4 Glimpse Of A Twisted Conflict
It remains daytime, and a cabin can be seen inside a forest. Inside the said cabin, Ranaliantra is standing in front of a long glass window; through the window, her eyes can perceive Semfes who continues to rest on the mattress without any consciousness.
"When are you going to wake up, huh, Semfes?" she closes her eyes for a short matter of seconds, "we'll have many things to discuss, but I'd like to see how fast and strong you are."
Somewhere in the forest, Alamia is sitting on the soil near a river and she has two buckets on each of her sides; the buckets are filled with fish that are flapping a bit. Furthermore, she has one empty bucket.
She rises from the soil, then she picks up the empty bucket, and proceeds to step closer to the river, where she kneels and extends her hand toward the river.
She begins to close her eyes as she dips her hand into the river.
"This should work," she spoke.
Henceforth, she begins to open her eyes and points to the bucket above the river, in a short matter of seconds, multiple fishes jump from the river and land on the empty bucket.
Thereafter, Alamia is sitting in front of numerous burning wooden logs as fishes are being cooked while they're pierced by wooden sticks.
She holds one of the wooden sticks and turns beside her and extends the stick.
"Here you go, Semfes," her eyes widen as her lip opens wide, "oh, I thought… I guess I'm all alone now."
She turns away and throws the stick pierced through a cooked fish, and then she closes her lip as her eyebrows furrow.
Tears begin to flow from her eyes as she closes her hands. "I-If only I was strong, I should have defended him and kept him away from any danger."
"S-She's right, I-I am just a weak, useless woman," she embraces herself while crying, "I don't deserve his protection and undying trust for me!"
Later on, Alamia is walking on a narrow pathway surrounded by numerous trees. She's carrying two buckets in her hand, and one bucket containing three cooked fish.
The bush near her begins to rustle yet she didn't stop walking nor did she look at it.
"Stop right there!" a boy comes out from the bush and points a rusty knife at Alamia who is not facing him, "I'll slaughter you if you don't give me your money!"
A thread ties around his knife while Alamia ceases her movement. The thread lifts the knife from his hand and the boy's eyes are widening while staring at his knife.
Alamia turns around and speaks calmly. "I comprehend what you're going through. You're just a kid, you don't deserve this kind of life."
"I left my life when I was betrayed by my friend!" he points to himself, "if you want to beat me then go for it! I don't care even if you kill me right now!"
"Oh?" Alamia's hair begins to arise as a dark blue aura occurs around her body, "you want this, aren't you?"
The boy's eyes are widening as he breathes fast while his hands are shaking. He closes his eyes and gulps. "I guess, this is where it all ends."
He feels something on his shoulder, and he opens his eyes and moves them to his shoulder only to see a hand settled on it.
He looks up and sees Alamia staring calmly at him. She continues to be calm and tells him. "I don't believe that you want this… you're still a child and you got a bright future ahead of you."
He shrugs his shoulder and her hand slips from his shoulder. He glares at Alamia and looks down, his whole body shakes as he begins to cry.
"Y-You were the only one that told me such words," he wipes his eyes, "thank you."
Alamia gives the boy her bucket filled with three cooked fish, and then he looks at her bucket and his eyes grow wide.
"Is that fish?" he pointed his index finger at the bucket.
"I want you to have this," Alamia tells him, "I am worried that you won't like this–!"
The boy pulls the bucket from her hand whilst Alamia was shocked. He smiles gently while looking at her. "Thank you! Thank you for this food! I haven't eaten for five days."
"Five days? How awful," she said.
The boy tells her. "I am Kukira, and if you don't have anywhere else to go, please, stay in my humble home."
Later on, daylight continues. Both Alamia and the boy are inside a wooden house that has parts made of stone.
Alamia moves her eyes everywhere and sees wooden furniture, a few cobwebs on the ceilings, and a fireplace.
"You live here on your own?" Alamia sits on a wooden bench, "did your patience sometimes run out while building this house?"
Kukira is currently feasting on Alamia's remaining cooked fish, and he's sitting on a wooden chair in front of a wooden round table.
"No," Kukira wipes his lip, "I just found this house and when I found this house, no people are staying in this house, so I cleaned it since that day."
Alamia nods repeatedly. "I can tell that you sure like cleaning."
Kukira looks beside him and sees the fishing rod flying closer to him. The fishing rod releases the knife on the round wooden table.
"Wow, this fishing rod is pretty." Kukira touched the fishing rod.
Alamia's eyes widen as veins all over her whole body appear on her skin. Her eyes begin to turn white as she looks upward.
Her eyes return to their original state, she moves her eyes everywhere and sees multiple trees and a Nagbabagane standing beside a little humanoid with dark skin, and burning eyes, and he raises his hands.
"What's happening?!" Alamia spoke to herself.
Red flames appear floating behind the little humanoid, and the red flames form a large flat circle
The ground begins to shake as deep lines form on it; the ground rises into pieces and Alamia remains standing on a chunk of soil that is levitating.
From the large flat circle, numerous Nagbabagane emerges and they all run in a certain direction.
"Wait, they can't see me?!" Alamia blinked.
Now, she is in front of multiple buildings, and she looks upward and witnesses the bright red sky with fireballs falling from the skies.
Hence, she moves her eyes down. "What is this madness? Where am I?"
Multiple people are screaming as they scramble in different directions. Some of them are grabbed by other Nagbabagane, hence they swallow the human they captured.
A voice echoes in her head multiple times as her eyesight gets blurry.
"Alamia!"
"Alamia!"
"Alamia!"
Her eyesight goes back to normal and she moves her eyes around her.
"Wait?" Alamia blinks and her eyesight goes back to normal, "what happened?"
Kukira is standing beside her while his hand is settled on her shoulder. He moves his hand away from her shoulder whilst Alamia is breathing faster as her eyes are broadening.
Kukira asks her. "Hey, are you okay?"
Alamia moves her eyes toward Kukira and she nods. "Yes, I'm okay… I just uh, I need to return to my friend."
"Well then, have my knife, please," Kukira gives his knife to her, "your fishing rod can't protect you against beasts that you might encounter out there."
"I decline," Alamia holds his hand and pushes it back to him, "I'll be safe, don't worry."
The door of the house explodes and both of them turn their attention toward the entrance, there they see a cloud of dust fading away.
From the cloud of dust, a Nagbabagane steps inward the house. He raises his large dark igniting hand and points it at Kukira. "You! You must come with me or else I will slaughter you!"
Kukira narrows his eyes as his eyebrows furrow at the gigantic burning humanoid. He proceeds to step forward but a hand blocks his chest.
He moves his eyes beside him and sees Alamia looking forward in a very serious manner.
"I'm sick of being protected," Alamia moves her hand down from his chest, "it is now my time to protect those who matter to me."
"You," Kukira's eyes widen, "must be kidding."
Alamia runs toward the Nagbabagane, and she raises her hand; a fishing rod lands on her hand and she holds it.
Alamia inhales deeply while running and she breathes a strong force of water, and the Nagbabagane summons the magma wall from the ground.
The water strikes the magma wall and the magma wall breaks into pieces. The water strikes the Nagbabagane on its chest and he flies away from the house and crushes into multiple trees.
The Nagbabagane arises and points its hand at the house only for a fishing line to wrap around his wrist.
He is pulled towards the sky, and the fishing line slams him into the ground. Alamia pulls her fishing rod and inhales deeply, therefore, the Nagbabagane is pulled towards her.
The Nagbabagane reaches Alamia, hence, she releases a great force of water from her mouth; the water strikes the Nagbabagane cutting him to pieces.
The fishing line returns to Alamia whilst pieces of moist large and small rocks are scattered on the soil.
Her upper body folds forward, she's breathing quickly as a gentle smile forms on her lip.
She straightens her upper body and looks at the sky. "I finally did it! I protected someone using my powers, and now I can protect you Semfes!"
Her bodily fluid fills her eyes as they fall in a gentle stream down to her cheek, and she continues to cry while smiling.
A large deep voice echoes near her. "Do you think that this is where it all ends?"
Alamia opens her eyes and wipes her tears from her eyes, above her eye level, a tall muscular burning humanoid can be seen floating while its red eyes are staring down at her.
"You've just defeated an ordinary Nagbabagane, and you think that you're so powerful?" he points his index finger at Alamia, "mark this in your mind that the last thing you'll see before your life ends is me!"
From his fingertip, a small fireball manifests and it expands at a fast rate; forming a large sphere and releasing hot air.
"Goodbye," the humanoid releases the large fireball toward Alamia, "our meeting was short but I'm flattered to kill a human again."
Alamia opens her eyes, and she arises and looks around her, seeing many trees and a large wooden cabin.
"What?" Alamia turns in a certain direction and her eyes widen at the sight of Kukira laying on the ground, "No! What happened to you?!"
She runs toward him and kneels in front of him, and she touches his wrist, and closes her eyes.
"He's still alive," she opens her eyes, and a soft smile forms on her lip, "I'm glad."Download Novelah App
