Chapter 6 So This Is What Love Is

It remains daytime, Revior and Obiel are walking inward to a guild in a village. They stop walking until they reach the main desk and there, they see Romina.
Obiel steps closer as Revior steps aside a bit while standing in front of the main desk, the people around them continue giving their attention to what they're doing.
Romina looks at Obiel and moves her lip closer to him. "I see, it's you, 2nd high-ranking, Obiel."
"Well, you have a good memory," Obiel chuckles a bit, "to be able to recognize me even if we haven't seen each other since 500 years ago."
Romina settles her hand on the desk and touches her cheek while lifting her eyebrow at Obiel. "What can I do for you and the 3rd high-ranking?"
Gabriel begins to speak words in an unknown language while he speaks, Romina is smiling while looking straight into his eyes.
"Bravo. Understood," Romina snaps her fingers, "let's wait for them to fall to their deepest sleep."
Everyone near Romina begins to stop moving; some of them drop their mug, and some remain standing in their place.
Henceforth, all of the people standing collapse to the ground, and those who are sitting; their heads fall to the table and some slip from their seats.
"So, it is true that you can use that dangerous ability," Revior is moving his eyes at every being who was affected by Romina's skill, "by heating their drink using your firepower, the heat transferred to their mug contains sleeping traits.
"That rare fire of yours can make any being sleep or drowsy under your command."
Romina chuckles while staring at Revior, and then she ceases her laughs and tells him, "I can't believe this, I never knew someone would say that to me!
"It has been so long since I've encountered someone like you."
Later on, Romina puts a scroll on her desk whilst Revior and Obiel look at the scroll.
"I present to you, gentle nagbabagane, the map that'll lead you to the person that you seek the most," Romina points her index finger at the scroll, "but there's an exchange to use that."
Revior asks while looking at the scroll. "What exactly is that?"
Romina moves her hand away from the scroll and moves her eyes toward Revior. "That will be your fire essence or in other words, a percentage of your fire essence will decrease while using this map bringing you to your death."
Revior immediately says, "I'll do it."
Obiel slams his hand on the map and points to himself. "No, I'll do that! Stop making yourself a hero in my eyes, Revior."
"If you say so," Revior looks down and closes his hands, "if that'll make you feel happy then do it."
Romina raises her eyebrow while staring at Revior whilst Obiel grabs the map from the desk.
"Let's just go." Obiel turned around and walked toward the entrance.
Revior moves his eyes toward Romina and she looks upward, henceforth, Revior walks toward Obiel.
Romina shakes her head while gazing at the two nagbabagane. "What in the mortal world did I see and comprehend? 3rd sure is soft but no wonder he'll do something that will shock 2nd and the rest of us.
"I'm assured that the 3rd is devoted to him, the great master Arak."
Meanwhile, inside a forest, a woman with a masculine mix with a feminine appearance is walking in a certain direction.
Her eyes widen as she raises her hands causing the knights behind her to put to a halt.
"That gauntlet!" she runs toward what seems to be a round cage, "this gauntlet is what I made for my father!"
She's seeing a dried hand wearing a dark glove and the hand is protruding from the cage's hole.
Her thighs begin to tremble as she falls to her knees, and bodily fluids fill her eyes at a fast rate. She looks upward and begins to release screams of madness.
"The murderer will pay!" she yelled loudly as she closes her hands, "I will find you and tear you to pieces!"
She looks down and begins to throw fast punches at the ground while screaming as she's releasing tears.
Ergo, multiple human bodies are laying on the ground while being covered by a huge piece of clothing.
Several knights are gathered around the sphere cage whilst the woman earlier is standing near the dead bodies.
"Ma'am Lyn," a knight breaks from walking beside her, "it's time to burn them."
"Burn?" Lyn looks at the knight, and her eyes are narrowed at him, "at least, let me use my ability on my father."
"Understood." the knight bowed down
Mae steps toward her father's deceased body, she kneels beside him and grabs his glove; pulling it gently from his hand.
She begins to close her eyes as she inhales deeply and whispers, "I'm sorry, father."
She twists one of his fingers and hauls it until it's removed from its place. She steps away from her father, likewise, she pulls one finger from the other dead adventurers.
Later on, large flames are burning all the lifeless bodies whilst the knight watches over the flame.
Lyn is sitting in front of the layers of human fingers. She raises her hand and aims it at the pile of human fingers, and a green line emerges from her fingertips; the green line goes toward the fingers.
She closes her eyes bit by bit and she opens her eyes, in front of her eyes, Revior can be seen and he's putting adventurers inside the cage.
All the adventurers are extending their hands toward Revior, and he's thrusting his flaming fist without hesitation.
Lyn narrows her eyes at Revior as her breathing accelerates.
She can hear their screams and witness how Revior's mercilessly treating them; punching them and poking their skin with burning sticks and coals.
Her eyes grow wide as a man from the cage is extending his hand towards Revior while tears are streaming from his eyes.
"Please! Set me free! I beg you! My daughter, she needs me!" he yells at him with sadness in his voice, "Today is her graduation day! Please, she needs me!"
"You don't deserve to live," Revior points his index finger at him, "at this moment, your life will change because today you are no human but one of the stocks of my evolution."
"Darn, you nagbabagane!" Lyn yells loudly, "I will remember every inch of you. When I encounter you, I'll slaughter you!"
Presently, Lyn opens her eyes and she arises from the ground. She holds the handle of the sword and pulls it from its sheath, thence she raises it and points it at the clear blue sky.
She announces, "Today! We have an important duty to fulfill!"
The other knights begin to turn in her direction whilst the other numerous knights step out from the shadow of the trees.
"We will give justice to those who died at the hand of a nagbabagane," she swivels her sword until it's pointing downward, "we will give them their extinction."
Hence, she thrust her sword onto the ground; its blade penetrated the soil. Every knight raises their hand as they scream her name repeatedly.
"Prepare yourselves for war," Lyn told them.
After some hours have passed but it remains daytime, Obiel and Revior are ambling on a pathway.
Obiel sighs. "I know we can fly using flames but why can't we use it?!"
"Relax, walking is reasonable because it'll hide our identity," Revior tells him, "what if someone that knows the person we're using as a disguise sees us?
"What if the identity we're using can't use fire?"
Obiel rolls his eyes while he inhales deeply. "I know the answer, Revior."
Revior looks quickly at Obiel. "I want you to say the answer, Obiel, say it."
"Oh, you piece of coal," Obiel narrows his eyes as he shortly raises his hands in frustration, "I know that we'll raise the suspicion of those people related to the ones we're using as a disguise.
"Then something might occur that will serve as our hindrance to fulfilling this mission."
Revior releases short waves of soft laughs. "I knew you would say that. How are you feeling now that you are knowledgeable about the answer to your question?"
"Oh, I feel great, great!" Obiel rolled his eyes.
"Good," Revior said.
Obiel sighs and glances at Revior. "You, I know that we aren't fond of talking about this mission and what we'll do after accomplishing it.
"I want to know what you'll wish for in exchange for your loyalty."
Revior looks down and looks up to the sky, and he smiles gently. "I want to have my daughter back, I want to see her as a woman with a heart of nagbabagane."
Obiel smiles and giggles. "I don't know anything about love but that thing sure is awful to hear."
They continue to stroll until they reach the scenery of a bridge above a river that will lead them to a village.
Revior tells Obiel. "After crossing this village, we'll finally be able to reach the location of the lady with the Y."
"Yes, and boom! We will now end the entire human race," Obiel laughs softly, "this is exciting!"
Together, they walk to the bridge until they enter the village. There, they see numerous people wandering in different directions; some are heading onward to the stalls.
Obiel's eyes widen and he moves his eyes downward and sees a girl hugging his abdomen.
Revior holds his shoulder and whispers to Obiel's ear. "Relax, this kid might know the one you're using as a disguise."
"I'll listen," Obiel glances at him, "I might learn their nature."
Revior nods and Obiel holds the child and gently pushes her away from him, hence, he kneels while smiling.
"I didn't know that he had this in him." Revior's eyes widened.
Revior smiles gently and then he glared at the girl. "You go–!"
Revior is gripping Obiel's shoulder. "Sorry, what he means is–!"
She goes toward Revior and throws punches at his thighs, Obiel's eyes widen as his lip opens a bit while seeing what she's doing.
"Don't hurt my papa!" she puffed her cheeks as she cried.
"Oh… uhm… hey!" Obiel hugs the girl and gently pulls her from Revior, "papa is okay, don't worry."
The girl turns around and embraces Obiel's neck whilst he looks up and sees Revior looking at them while smiling a bit, and then Obiel glares at Revior.
Later on, the girl is sitting on a bench while sipping water from a wooden cup while Obiel and Revior are standing in front of them.
"What are we going to do?" Obiel whispered into Revior's ear.
Revior remains looking at the girl. "Well, I think you must play along, especially since her father is gone because of me."
Obiel glares at Revior. "Are you blaming yourself? That's disgusting."
"We've lost some of our missions, right?" he calmly looks at Obiel, "what did you feel that time?"
Obiel narrows his eyes a bit while staring at Revior. "That's why I persevere to train every day, since that moment, I avoided feeling disappointment."
"That girl feels the same," Revior serenely tells him, "the sadness you've felt for failing your mission is the same feeling that girl is feeling for losing her father.
"All beings experience sadness like what we feel upon failing a mission."
"I hate to say this," Obiel sighs, "I'm a 2nd high-ranking nagbabagane, and I am devoted to Arak. For the success of this mission, I'll fill in the missing part of her father in her life."
Meanwhile, the girl looks up and sees Obiel's face cloaked by her father's face which is calmly staring at her.
Obiel speaks to her. "My dearest, do you want anything like money or uhm… jewelry?"
"Jewelry?" she tilts her head, "you always bring me in front of a riverbank and we'll eat kutsinta while staring at the sun."
"Then… can you bring me to where the kutsinta is being sold?" Obiel asked.
The girl nods, hence, both of them stand up and walk in a certain direction. While walking, the girl holds his hand.
Obiel's eyes grow wide as his shoulders jerk, and then he holds his daughter's hand.
Henceforth, Obiel and the girl are standing in front of the riverbank while the rays of the sun are shining over the river.
Revior remains standing near them, and he's gazing at Obiel and the girl.
"I'm sorry for killing your father." he wiped the fluid from his eyes.
The girl gently pulls his hand, and so, Obiel moves his eyes toward her and she's sitting on the grass field.
Obiel does the same, and he settles the plastic bag on the soil between him and her.
"Uhm… do you remember what I'm calling you whenever we're sitting here?" Obiel remained to stare at the sun which was beginning to move from the horizon.
"Rest, papa, enough doing missions," the girl tells him, "you're so exhausted that you don't remember my name."
Obiel gulps and looks at the girl. "I-I need to earn money for us and your future."
"I don't need money, papa," the girl looks at him with a gentle smile and eyes mimicking a smile, "I am more wealthy than any other people because I have a kind loving father like you that loves me no matter what happens."
Obiel remains silent and tears unexpectedly fall from his eyes. "I… I-I will listen to you, but love is not always what we need to live in this world, my dear.
"How wonderful it would be if a world without the need for money existed and everyone is treated equally."
She rests her head on Obiel's arm. "Being wealthy is not what I need, papa… if Beiy has all the time in this world to be with you then I will be the wealthiest girl for I have you always by my side, father."
Obiel remains staring at the girl, he leans his head toward her and plants a kiss on her forehead.
"You're the kindest girl," Obiel moves away from her and gazes into her eyes with a gentle smile on his lip, "you're the most wonderful creation that I see."
"I am the creation of your love, father," she giggled.
The whole day, they run everywhere, splashing water from the river, and Revior remains standing near them as he looks at them with a tender smile on his lip.
It is now evening, inside a room of a house with no light but the moonlight is streaming on the glass window near them, Obiel is sitting beside the girl who's laying on a mattress.
"Papa," the girl turns her eyes beside her and sees Obiel, "you're calling me Beiy whenever you're with me."
Obiel looks at the girl. "When I'm gone on missions… w-who's taking care of you?"
"No one, father," Beiy smiles gently, "when I'm hungry, I would go to a bakery, and the lady there would give me bread without anything in exchange."
Obiel slowly nods his head as he bites his lip while staring at the ceiling. "I'm sorry for being away from you and for not fulfilling my role as y-your father."
His eyes widen and he looks at his hand only to see Beiy holding it. Therefore, he moves his eyes toward Beiy only to see her smile illuminated by the moonlight.
"No matter what, I'll always be here waiting for your return, papa," Beiy begins to close her eyes, "with you I'm at peace and I don't need anything else, papa."
Obiel moves his face closer to her face; planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"Whenever I'm gone," Obiel moves his face from her and points to her chest, "I'm always right there in your heart, my dear Beiy."
"I love you, papa." Beiy closed her eyes.
"I love you, my dear… you're the only one who touched my flaming heart." Obiel slowly arose and he walked away from her.
Obiel smiles gently while walking away from the house. "So, this is what love is."
Meanwhile, Revior is standing outside of the house.
"Even those person who is devoted to their duty will never hesitate to betray their master," Revior speaks, "I can see that he's going to accomplish that."
