Chapter 47
A few hours later...
At the cafeteria...
"Man, that sucks," Tim says as he watches Taylor eating her tuna sandwhich in the most boring manner. The blonde boy thought about sitting with Taylor today for lunch in which he also wanted to ask her about her relationship with Eleanor.
"She really hates me now," Taylor states before taking a sip of her milk. Though Taylor's head had been chaotic since the video got posted, she felt Tim's company was quite ok after days of sitting alone during lunch.
"She's just mad, Tay. Give her some time," Tim says, attempting to cheer Taylor up so she won't lose her spirit.
"I don't feel like I deserve to be forgiven," Taylor says before taking another bite of her tuna sandwhich. Thinking about what she did back then, she regretted lying to her sister about her relationship just because she only wanted Joey all to herself.
"Some wounds needs time, Tay," Tim says. "You have to give her some time."
Hearing Tim's statement, Taylor still doubts about the possibility of Eleanor having the intention to actually forgive her after what she did. She wanted to act hopeless since she already lost hope, when she believed that her mistakes are not to be forgiven, especially by her sister.
A few hours later...
7 PM...
At Fred's apartment....
Fred is having a simple dinner alone at his apartment. He decided to cook a grilled salmon with a salad for tonight, complete with a bowl of blueberries he had prepared for dessert.
As Fred continues to cut his salmon, he suddenly hears knocking coming from his door, which he found to be odd. He didn't remember his friends saying that they would come. Not to mention, Fred doesn't even have much friends at college. He is an introvert and doesn't like to socialise much. He gets up from his seat and walks over to open his apartment door, not really expecting who would be standing on the other side.
"Hey!"
Upon opening the door, Fred's jaws almost dropped out of surprise as he sees Eleanor standing in front of him. He didn't expect to see her at this hour, more likely he didn't expect her to actually visit him tonight. Since the awkward moment at the carnival a few days ago, the two had not been in contact. Sure, Fred tried to apologize to her about his stupid action, and she was actually cool with it, but he thought the tension between would still be awkward and decided to keep his distance for a moment. Yet, seeing her presence right now melts the shield in his heart of distance, making him feel closer again.
"Hey, come in," Fred says as he opens the door wider for Eleanor to enter.
Eleanor walks inside Fred's apartment and quickly takes a seat on the couch. After locking the door, Fred turns around and notice that Eleanor is looking quite exhausted, and somehow sad. It's only been a few days, yet the moment he finally got to see her again, she is looking all sad, which he worried him inside. He thought something must had happen to her.
"Soo...umm, would you like some orange or apple juice?" Fred asks as he walks over to the fridge to get some juice for Eleanor.
"Whatever. Anything would do," Eleanor says in a lazy tone, which only made Fred more worried. There's really something going on with the girl that she starts to behave differently. He wanted to find out what it is, but thought that it would take time. Well, maybe a chat over juice would make her feel comfortable enough to tell him what's the case.
9:30 PM...
At Joey's house...
Joey is drinking his 3rd can of beer for tonight. After the incident regarding the video of him and Taylor, he felt frustrated knowing that the three of them are now the hot topic of the whole school. Not to mention, he felt guilty for Eleanor, knowing that he is involved with the secret relationship between him and Taylor, and that the last time he tried to explain things to her, she ended up getting very emotional which made him feel worse. Other than that, he also felt terrible knowing that he had broken the relationship between Taylor and Eleanor, just because he couldn't act like an adult and just be honest about who he wants to date in the first place.
As he starts to get tipsy, he suddenly hears the front door opening. He can hear the sound of a middle-aged man chuckling, and to his surprise, he also heard the sound of a giggling woman. Curious and shock, Joey got up from the couch as he witness his dad entering the living room, along with a young lady who he has his arm wrapped around her slim waist. This isn't the lady from last time, since Joey swear that this lady looked around his age.
"Mind your business and get out of my way," his dad says as he pushes his son away from his sight. Joey became furious at his dad's action and quickly turns around to pull his collar.
"What the hell, Jerk? Don't you know how to treat people with respect?" Joey asks in furious as his dad starts to choke at his son's tight grip. In this moment, the young lady could only stood still, frozen in fear as she watches the two man in an intense moment.
"Let go of me before I kick you out of the house," Joey's dad says in a low tone with boiling anger. Inside his head, he was ready to get rid of his son at all cost after he found him to be interrupting his personal life.
"Try me," Joey says with a deep tone. The anger in him gave him the guts to actually perform such violence to his dad.
In a quick swift, Joey's dad pulls his body away from Joey's grip, before turning around and instantly punch him in the face. Joey got furious and the two enter a big fight as they start attacking each other furiously, leaving the young lady to stood in fear.
"Get out of my house now!" Joey's dad kicks him to the ground as he shouts the words.
Joey stood up in pain from the attacks he received from his dad. Yet, the pain in his body is nothing compare to the pain in his heart, knowing that his dad had the guts to attack him in a way after his mom died. It was painful enough knowing that he had been playing with other women while his mom was sick, but after she passed away, he only got worse that he attacked him and kicked him out of the house.
"Just get out now," his dad shouts with full temper.
Hurt, angry, and in pain, Joey didn't bother to answer his dad. Instead, he only grab his phone from the desk and quickly leaves the house, not even bothering to get his clothes from upstairs. If his dad wants him to leave the house, then he'll do it cause he after he leaves, he swear it would be the last time he'll ever see him.
