Chapter 49

11:30 PM...
At Taylor and Eleanor's room...
After taking a warm shower, Eleanor walks over to her bed after getting all cozy in her baby blue pajamas. She had enough of today. In fact, she had enough of the past days since the video drama started. Tired and sleepy, Eleanor just lie down on her bed and shuts her eyes, hoping that she would fall asleep sooner tonight.
"Are you asleep?"
Eleanor flutters her eyes open. Her sister's voice had awaken her sleepiness with the disappointment in her heart still running around inside. For the first time in her life, she hated the fact that she's sharing a room with her twin sister, though they sleep on different beds. Growing up, other than sleeping in the same room, they've always shared everything together such as toys, clothes, and make-up. Yet, just because they shared everything together, that didn't really justify a reason for them to share Joey, but also wasn't a excuse for Taylor to date him behind her back.
"No," Eleanor answers in a flat tone, not bothering to sit up to see her sister's face, who is literally also lying down on her bed.
"How long are you gonna keep this up?" Taylor asks.
Eleanor widen her sleepy eyes, as if she didn't believe to hear her sister's question. She wanted to think it was a mistake that Taylor asked her that, but she heard what was heard.
"Ask yourself, why did you start playing with fire when you're worried of getting burn in the first place? Now here you are acting as if I was the sinner," Eleanor blurts out, though she didn't raise her voice too much.
Hearing her sister's answer, Taylor could silence her lips with the guilt in her heart only getting more uncomfortable. Slowly, tears starts to run down from her eyes. After another failed attempt to make things normal with her sister, she felt guiltier than before as all her hopes of reconciling is now gone. In this moment, she felt like she had lost her sister for good, just because of her own selfish lies.
Meanwhile, in the silence of the night, what Taylor didn't know is that Eleanor is also crying in silence. Despite still being upset with her sister, she felt terrible for ignoring her for the past few days. Yet, she also felt hurt about her relationship with Joey behind her back, which she still couldn't forget or even forgive till now.
The next day...
At school...
Taylor is walking through the hallway of school alone. Again, the students still have their attention on her, which she is starting to get bored of. As she continues to walk, she sees Tim running towards her direction, which made her wonder a bit inside.
"Taylor, there you are," Tim says.
"Yeah, and what's up with the running?" Taylor asks in a clueless manner.
"There's something I gotta tell you," Tim says. "Joey's leaving."
Taylor widen her eyes, but her lips are left shock with confusion as she didn't quite get what Tim meant.
"What do you mean he's leaving?" Taylor asks.
Tim takes a deep breath. He found it's gonna be a bit difficult to explain to her regarding Joey's situation. Yet, Joey had requested his final request before leaving Los Angeles. It's the least he could for his best friend.
"He had a fight with his dad last night and got kicked out. He stayed at my place and told me that he's gonna drop out of school and go to San Diego tonight to stay with his brother and look for a job," Tim says in the most simple way he could present the words, though deep down he's already afraid to see the reaction from Taylor, which he had a feeling she's gonna freak out.
Hearing that, Taylor felt her heart getting crushed into a millon pieces. Just when she is still frustrated about her broken relationship with her sister, hearing that her best friend (or she could say boyfriend for the past few days) will be dropping out of school and moving to a new city was something she wasn't ready to hear at the moment.
"Why didn't he tell me? Where is he now? Why did-"
"Calm down, Tay. He was afraid you would react like this by that he asked me to tell you," Tim says as he puts both his hands on Taylor's shoulder in an attempt to comfort her who was starting to panic.
"He wanted to see you and Eleanor tonight before his flight," Tim says.
Hearing this, Taylor couldn't hold back her tears any longer as she starts to let the tears run down her eyes. Just when she already lost her sister, she also lost the man she loved who is the reason why she lost her sister in the first place. Losing two people she loved with all her heart in the same moment, she felt like the world had been too cruel to her.
As Taylor continues to cry and sob her eyes out, Tim look at the girl with a heavy heart. It's the first time he's witnessing the calm and collected Taylor crying her eyes out like a toddler. It hurt his heart. In this chance, he pulls Taylor's body into his embrace, hugging her tightly in an attempt to comfort her. He could feel her crying into his chest, which had left some stains on his shirt. Yet, he didn't care about that, and not even about the amount of students passing by who are staring at him while whispering to each other. Right now, all that matters is that he comfort the sad girl with care and affection.
A few hours...
At the cafeteria...
After a dramatic morning crying session, Taylor lost her appetite upon thinking about Joey leaving LA tonight. She decided to skip lunch and only drink mineral water to keep her awake. Right now, she didn't mind that she is hungry since her soul already feels like dying slowly. Meanwhile, Tim decided to sit next to her while having his grilled chicken sandwhich, just to make sure she's ok after all the crying from the morning.
"What time is his flight tonight?" Taylor asks after drinking her water.
To be continue...
