"You must remain a member of our team" Caleb said crossing his hands.
"I believe we can agree to that" Judas replied.

"I have joined the medic team" Eva announced breaking the silence.
They were back in the carteria the next day and they were all given roles that they should fulfil. The young boy have been sent to the daycare last night and should be learning things by now.
"Me and Judas were sent to join the runners?" Hannah put out as she ate
"Runners? What do they do?" Mr. Klein asked.
Mr. Klein was taken to become a guard of the safe zone since he has a history of being a guard.
"Well, I heard they are the ones who goes outside and gather materials and provisions. They are more on the front lines" Judas said, he wasnt sure of joining the runners but the experience he will get will be rewarding and it may be of help to him in the future.
"Hannah. You're okay with heading outside all the time?" Mr. Klein asked worried
"It was what I was given as they needed more runners and guards, which I would most definetly not be a good fit" she replied non-chalant.
"I'm sure I could-"
"Now don't you worry Klein! I will keep an eye on her, make sure she's safe" Judas reassured him.
Mr. Klein couldn't help but sigh, these two were too stubborn to deal with.

The very next morning, Judas and Hannah were called to the training grounds along with other runners who had already been there.
"Everyone please welcome our new recruits!" Caleb announced to the old runners who looked towards Judas and Hannah.
Some were excited but some had a dirty look on their face. Hannah and Judas were given a badge to wear to determine their group.
"The two will be joining the 5th group of runners" Caleb pointed towards a group that had way less people compared to the other groups.
Judas and Hannah glanced at each other, a look of worry on both their faces. Less people means more work to do.
They head over to the group and gave their greetings again. The group were very welcoming as it has been a long time since they last gotten any new recruits.
"Heyo! It's nice to see new faces around here! We are the fifth group of the runners and well....the worse ones" his voice turning from cheerful to a sad one.
"We could tell" Hannah replied, although she did feel safe in here, she still wanted to have her guard up.
The group laughed awkwardly, not knowing how to respond to her remark. Judas kept quiet too, unsure how he should break the ice.
"Well....then, we'll walk you through the things that we do on a daily basis"
There were a few list they had to do which were
1. Wake up earlier than the rest of the runner group
2. Make sure the other groups necessities are all up to date
"That's pretty much it" they said.
Hannah and Judas looked at them wide eyed. They thought to themselves, 'Isn't this bullying!?'
"Okay....", Hannah said, stressing on the o's
"And Caleb is okay with all of this?" Judas questioned
"Well, he doesn't really know....the other group is quite strong so going against them isnt an option....really" one of them said.
"Surely Caleb would be willing to help?" Judas asked on, curious
"We never went to him because the other group protects the people. They are the core in this safe zone and without them we'd be dead" a middle aged man answered, he spoke in a deep voice.
"And you are?" Judas asked, the man held his hand out and said 'Jonah'
They kept asking why they dont help out with the things the other groups do but they replied saying that they had failed completing an important task.
"Important task? What kind of task is this?" Hannah asked intrigued but none of them answered her even Jonah stood quietly.
Sensing the tension, Judas changed the subject and they returned to their happy selves once again.
They brought Hannah and Judas towards their base of operations. It was a rundown wooden house but it looked cozy to say the least.
"Youve got a nice place" Hannah complimented, running her fingers along the wooden panel.
"We do our best in making it the best home" Jonah replied, admiring the house he and his group had built together.
"This will be your rooms. Since we have less people, each and every one of us get their own rooms" he joked.
Hannah set her bag down on the small table beside her bed. It was cozy indeed and she was pleased that she didn't have to share it with anyone at all compared to when she was at the shelter.
"Settling in already?" A woman called out, she looked to be in her thirties.
"Yes...." Hannah curtly replied.
"You must be Hannah right? Jonah was telling me about you. I'm Christine, Jonah's wife and the housekeeper" She announced, smilling.
"Oh....it's nice to meet you" Hannah awkwardly replied
Christine laughed it off and left Hannah to herself and said that if she needed anything, she could find her at the porch outside.
Hannah nodded and retrieved something from her bag. It was a book, there wasn't much written in it.
Hannah uses it to write down about the zombies and the people she meets just as a reminder incase she forgets about them.
She placed the book in her desk and went to the wardrobe. She opened it and found a pair of clothes and a towel ready for her.
"Woah, I guess I really should use a shower" Hannah took a long shower after being unable to do so for a very long time.
"That feels better" Hannah exclaimed, drying her hair with a towel.
She decided she should get her clothes washed so she could use it again later. Hannah spotted Christine and asked her where they would wash them.
Christine said it was alright and took her clothes from her then heading off towards somewhere.
"Oh....thank you!" Hannah voiced out, hoping she would hear.
Se then went over to find for Judas. Its been long since she last saw him and she was wondering what he was doing.
"Hello? Are you here?" Hannah called out and poked her head into his room.
Judas was reloading his gun and making additional ammo to replace the ammo he loaded.
"Oh, hey there, is something wrong?" Judas looked up at her
"Looks like someone enjoyed having a shower. Now I feel like having one" Judas said, imagining himself being in the shower and staying there forever.
"Ah! I forgot to mention, there's also spare clothes in the wardrobe that you can use and Christine took my old clothes to wash them?" Hannah wasn't sure if her clothes were going to be washed or burnt honestly.
"Thanks for the information. I shall now enjoy a nice hot bath" Hannah nodded and left his room.Download Novelah App
