Chapter 19

Standing in front of Caleb and the rest of the runners, Hannah felt like she was back in school again when they had to line up for the daily assembly.
Jonah stood in front of his group looking proud and determined.
Caleb gave out his speech to each groups of runners and ended it with a word of encouragement for them.
"........now get out there and make us proud"
With that each group head out towards the city and left the safe zone.
Hannah and Judas both saw Eva and Mr. Klein looking down at them. One of them seemed happy and proud while the other was shocked to see them go back out.

"...We're in the clear" Jonah spoke out towards his group.
They were tasked to gather some supplies from a pharmacy. It was a pharmacy that the other groups frequently visited to gather medicine or even the equipment they have there.
"Just get the ones we need and we're bouncing out of here immediately"
They gathered the ones that were written on the list that were given to them. As for the rest, they leave them in the pharmacy because they lack the storage for it.
Hannah skimmed through the shelves, her eyes passing by a few medicine that she was familiar with before the whole outbreak.
Hannah held it in between her fingers, staring at it for awhile.
"....It's fine to take it you know? It's not like anyone's uoing to really notice it missing" Judas appeared beside her.
She contemplated and decided to bring it with her. It would come in handy when she starts experiencing some severe pain.

The pharmacy was surrounded with the undead. Someone from the group were bitten when they went outside to check their surroundings.
Jonah tried going back out to save the poor man but was held back by Judas as they saw their member turn into a zombie.
"NO! PLEASE......please......." Jonah slumped onto the floor, his palm covering his face as he sobbed.
Hannah tried comforting the man as Judas tried placing a barricade in front of the entrance.
"I could use some help here Hannah!" Judas said nervously, he couldn't keep up with the amount of zombies trying to make their way in the place.
Hannah immediately rushed to Judas's side and pushed even more shelves towards the entrance.
"Hold onto this spot right here.....and don't let go no matter what" Judas instructed Hannah as he kept pushing the zombies out of the pharmacy.
It was obvious that the zombies were too much for them to handle any longer.
"We need to move ASAP!" Hannah warned.
The swarm forming outside was getting way too large for them to go against on their own.
"Jonah come on now we have to move! Jonah!" Judas shook Jonah a little to get him out of his trance.
Hannah noticed that the two weren't moving an inch and decided to help them out.
"Come on!" She grabbed ahold of Jonah's hand and dragged him as much as she could.
Judas followed suit and helped her out. They werent as familiar about the place than Jonah was but they knew staying there any longer would risk their chances of surviving.
They made their way through the pharmacy, searching for the backdoors.
"Where is it?!" Judas said out loud, clearly frustrated.
The remaining group member tried pulling Jonah back to his senses, in hopes he could figure a way out.
They reached a dead end, a room that was set to chill to store all the medicines they receive. Mostly those that aren't packed into a bottle or a satchel yet.
Judas inspected the place seeing if there was another way out. He was under the impression that a door to the outside could be attached to this room to make shipment much easier.
He paced around the room moving some shelves aside while Jonah slowly came back to his senses.
"There is no back door here....we- we have to head to the roof" Jonah said slowly, he kept saying to himself that he is responsible for the group and that he shouldnt let anyone else get hurt.
The other members supported Jonah as Hannah and Judas trailed behind them.
The undead were creeping up from behind, seeming even closer the more they try to get away.
They arrived safely on top of the roof but the metal bar that was trying to block in all the zombies was not enough.
"Well now what?! Where do we go from here?" One of the members said frustrated
They paced around the roof, looking for a way to leave. Jonah tried paging the other groups in hopes to get some back up.
"...Hello?! Hello!....Yes. We're on the roof now, there's a whole lot of them down below........Escape? No, no. We're trapped up here......yes? Alright." Jonah spoke on the walkie talkie and he puts it down once he's finished.
"What did they say?" Judas inquired.
"They're on their way. It might take them awhile.....they've got their hands full at the moment"
*BANG*
They turned towards the door that had been holding the zombies back amd realized that the bolts on the door were coming undone.
"We need to go!" Hannah urged, her eyes widening as she looked at the door.
Jonah peered over the edge to see if there were any more of them down below.
"The only choice we have is to climb down" he said firmly
The rest of the group glanced at each other, feeling wary of what Jonah had just said. They're heads were filled with nervous thoughts.
"It is our only chance of surviving. Unless you'd rather stay here and give up" Jonah glared
They all glanced at each other and agreed to follow Jonah.
Jonah was the first to get down, he wanted to make sure it was safe. When he saw that the area was clear he asked them to get down.
Everyone swiftly made their way down before the door busted open and the zombies came rushing out.
"Keep moving!" Jonah shouted at the rest of the group as he watched the undead fall off the side of the roof where they were currently at.
Jonah lead the group with Judas and Hannah trailing along behind him. The other members were lagging behind but they kept running trying to keep up with Jonah.
