Stella walked past David's class very early the next day after assembly and became a little bit worried when she didn't see him on his seat like the rest. Remembering they'd broken up, she felt she wasn't supposed to be worried about his absence in school. "Maybe he got caught up in the rush hour. He'll come", she thought and continued walking. Free period, she walked past the class again and didn't still see David, after hesitating to turn to check on him. "That's strange. David hardly misses a day in school. I remember when he had malaria but still came to school", she became genuinely worried. One of David's closest friends sighted her by the window. He knew she was staring at David's seat, looking so worried. Stella saw him and acted up looking round the class and not being worried way too weirdly. He sighed;"Stella still loves David very much but won't ever admit because of pride." He continued writing down what he was writing. When school session closed, she went to him. He was sitting alone in the study park. "Do you know why David couldn't come to school today?", she asked, too worried to say hi. He shook his head;"Ever since his sudden disappearance from school yesterday, I haven't heard from him. I did try calling him yesterday but he didn't pick up." She wanted uttering another question but felt it'd show she still cared. Rather she said;"If he doesn't want to come to school, it's his cup of tea." She turned to go but the boy called on her. "If you want to know why he couldn't come today, you could call him when you get home", he said. Stella didn't say a word and left casually. David's friend watched her go. "When will this pride you're always known for end?", he asked himself and sighed. "When I get home...I'll try calling Dave and find out what happened though", he thought. Mr Robinson poured out the liquid medicine from a flask into a glass cup. "The medicine is meant to be taken warm", he said. He gave the glass to David. David was taking his time to take it, squeezing his face because he felt it would taste bitter. "Come on! It's going to help you recover very fast", he urged David to drink up. David had his first taste of it and what he tasted completely amazed him...it was a very sweet medicine to drink. "Woah! This may be the sweetest thing I've ever tasted in my life", he said. He hurriedly drank up his medicine in no time and even requested for more. "You're funny", Mr Robinson chortled, "You're only meant to take it twice a day, once in the morning, and once in the evening." "Buh what's the secret ingredient to this sweetness at the extreme?", asked David, licking up the glass cup with his tongue. "Well...there are lots of ingredients that led to that sweetness." "I'll love to learn how to produce such sweetness of a medicine." "Yeah", Mr Robinson nodded his head, "Your Dad didn't go to the office because of your injury today", he said after a short while. David sat up straight on bed, feeling a bit better than some days ago. "He was meant to have a day off...I mean a week off from work with or without me being injured, but he's doing his best. He checks up on me, he's been caring for me...way more than before." Mr Robinson, seeing David's health and body were getting better, became happier. "I really understand what you've gone through as a superhero. These injuries given to you by Death ain't easy to bear...I know!", he said, feeling sorry for David. David looked downwards and sighed. He spoke calmly;"That's what a superhero passes through...and I love it. I always feel very happy when I help others, when they deserve it, even if it costs me something...I'm surprised Death didn't use his lasers on me." "I just wish the someone I need to be by me was here", he added. Mr Robinson wondered who he was referring to. "Who's the fella you talking about?", he questioned. It's Stella. I don't know why, but I feel she's one person if I see right now, I'll be very okay", David replied, wearing an ashen face. "Oh yeah!", Mr Robinson stood up, "I'm going to pick her up today and have a word with her", he assured David. "Buh how are you going to do that?", asked David, having some doubt. "I'll give you a clue. There's a device I invented. I gave it the name, "Voice Thief". Now...think about it and tell me later today what I've planned", he smirked at David. He then remembered to say something else;"Uh-uh! Just so you know...Death can't fire out lasers from his eyes anytime he wants...it's something that can only happen once in a while." David left his mouth agape in surprise, probably because of the device's name he heard.
