RED'S POINT OF VIEW I couldn't shake the feeling of regret as I watched Max and Lance in the room. I knew he had messed up by taking down Max's confession and pushing her away. I had let my fears and insecurities get the best of me. As much as I wanted to hate Lance for being with Max, I knew deep down that it wasn't Lance's fault. I had no right to be jealous, and I had no one to blame but myself. But what if I took a risk now? What if I told Max how he felt, and they could try to make it work? I couldn't shake the feeling that they were meant to be together, and I knew I would always regret it if I didn't try. I took a deep breath, trying to steel my nerves. I walked towards Max and Lance, my heart pounding in my chest. "Hey, guys," he said, trying to sound casual. Max turned towards him, a surprised look on her face. Lance just nodded, giving me a small smile. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but can I talk to you for a second, Max?" I asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Max looked at me, her eyes searching my face. I could see the confusion in her eyes, and I knew I had to make my move now. "Sure, Red," Max said, standing up from her seat. We walked out of the room, and I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. "Max, I know I messed up. I shouldn't have taken down your confession, and I shouldn't have pushed you away. I was just scared, and I didn't want to lose you," I said, my voice shaking with emotion. Max looked at me, her eyes softening. "Red, I-" "I know it's too late now, But I can't help the way I feel. I still love you, Max, and I can't shake the feeling that we're meant to be together," I interrupted her. Max looked at him, her eyes wide with surprise. I could see the conflict in her eyes, and I knew that I had put her in a difficult position. "I'm sorry, Max. I shouldn't have said anything. I just wanted you to know how I feel," Red said, feeling defeated. But then, to his surprise, Max took his hand, and her eyes sparkled with emotion. "Red, I don't know what to say. I-" Before she could finish her sentence, I leaned in and kissed her, unable to hold back my emotions any longer. Max responded, and the kiss quickly turned into a passionate embrace. At that moment, I knew that I had taken a risk worth taking. I had finally told Max how I felt, and she had responded in kind. Even though the road ahead would be uncertain, I knew that I had taken the first step toward a future with the woman I loved. Max pulled away from the kiss, her eyes still closed, and a small smile on her face. "Red, I don't know what to say," she whispered. I looked at her, my heart racing with excitement and anticipation. "You don't have to say anything, Max. Just know that I love you, and I'm willing to take whatever risks necessary to make this work," I said, my voice full of sincerity. Max looked at Red, her eyes filled with emotion. "I love you too, Red," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. They both stood there for a moment, just looking at each other, soaking at the moment. And then Max took his hand, and they walked back into the room, ready to face whatever the future held. Lance looked up as they entered, and a small smile crossed his face. "Everything okay?" he asked . Red looked at Max, and she nodded, a small smile on her face. "Everything's good," Red said, his voice filled with relief. "I'm glad you two sort it out. I'm happy for the both of you," Lance said, smiling at us and looking at our hands held together. "best friend to lovers, wow," Felix said, teasing us. "Who knew I'd fall in love with my best friend?" Max said, blushing. "That's the best kind of love," I said, looking at Max with a smile. "The kind that grows from a strong foundation of friendship." Max smiled back at me, and I knew that we were both thinking about all the years we had spent together as friends before realizing our true feelings for each other. "Thanks, guys," Max said, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "I'm really excited to see where this goes." "Me too," I said, feeling more confident than ever about our future together. And with that, we all settled back into our seats, ready to enjoy the rest of the evening together as friends and now, as a couple. We all laughed, the tension of the moment dissolving in the light-hearted banter. But underneath the laughter, I could feel a sense of relief wash over me. It was as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and I could finally breathe again. As the night wore on, we talked and laughed, catching up on old times and sharing stories about our lives. Max and I held hands throughout the night, a silent declaration of our newfound love. It was strange and wonderful all at once, this new dynamic between Max and me. We had been best friends for so long, but now there was something more, something deeper and more meaningful. As the night wore on, we all started to get tired, the excitement of the evening finally catching up with us. I really love max. I'll do everything to make this relationship work. I thought to myself as we all said our goodbyes and left the hospital room. As we walked home, Max and I stayed close, our hands still intertwined. I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment and happiness wash over him. I knew that there would be challenges ahead, but I was ready to face them head-on. I had Max by my side, and together we could conquer anything. As we reached Max's house, we stopped outside her gate, still holding hands. "I had a really great time tonight," Max said, looking up at me with a smile. "I did too," Red replied, smiling back at her. "I'm really glad we talked things out. I was worried that we would never be the same after what happened, but I feel like we're even closer now," Max said, her voice filled with sincerity. "I feel the same way," I said, my heart swelling with love and affection. Max leaned in and kissed me gently on the lips, and I responded in kind, our kiss deepening with each passing moment. When we finally pulled away, we were both breathless, their faces flushed with passion. "I should go inside," Max said a small smile on her face. I nodded, feeling a sense of longing as Max pulled away from him. "I'll see you soon," he said, his voice filled with promise. "Definitely," Max replied, before turning and walking through the gate. I watched her go, my heart beating fast with excitement and anticipation. I knew that we had a lot of work ahead of us, but I was ready to face it head-on, as long as I had Max by my side. With that thought in mind, I turned and started walking home too, my heart full of hope and joy.
