Chapter Twenty Eight

Day 35 The Funeral Ceremony
A day Before the Funeral.
She feels dizzy and her stomach is not good its like crumbling, she was almost vomits because of the strange feeling. She felt that the whole area spinning, she grabbed the wall and forced herself to walk towards her bed, she almost throws herself on her bed, she closed her eyes to be able to relax. Maybe of too much happening that her mind can't handle. She can't believe that the man that she loves is now gone, he left her there's no way to him back again.
The funeral service for the fallen soldiers is just to begin, the Commander and the President of the Arland nation gave an honor for the fallen soldiers who fought against the terrorists.
She wears a black blouse and a black skirts above the knee, she puts too the necklace attached the dog tag of Sergeant Herrera where their names were printed on it.
She joins with the others to attend the Funeral ceremony to honor and remembered their heroism and love to their country.
The Military funerals honors, Intented to express deep gratitude for those who have served the nation and paying final tribute to honorable military service.
The ceremonial folding of the flag is about to begin, it is a moving tribute of lasting importance to serve, hence Sergeant Herrera families are not presents the commander decided to give the flag to her yet his body is nowhere to found she still offer a flower and her prayers to his beloved.
A nice weather at this moment of time the wind has been just light that softly touches her skin, the smell of winter that she could taste, she put flowers on the ground and put a cross on that, only this thing she could do right now.
She knows that wherever the Sergeant now, he is now watching her. She tries to be brave all the time, but for now she could not hold back her tears. If she could only back the time she will not allow the Sergeant to go in the battle she wanted him to be on her side.
Amanda comes over her to help her stands and bring her again on a tent on where she could rest for a while. She sat next to Amanda and waiting to finish the funeral ceremony. Twenty one gunshot fire given to the fallen soldiers in honoring their heroism it was as if she was not in herself, she just stunned and she did not want to speak even a single word. She just stared at the absence of, too many tears that she shed from yesterday until all night she was just crying.
Suddenly she stood up to Amanda's surprise.
"Why? Are you okay? Amanda asks her.
She didn't seem to hear Amanda's question and indeed she looked around, she sees a familiar face that was looking at where she is now. It could be true that she saw Sergeant Herrera looking at her from afar. She suddenly walks toward to the place where she sees a familiar face and she is sure that it was Sergeant Herrera.
Amanda gets surprise as she walked away from the crowd, she immediately followed it where she was going.
Chyrill walks fast and there's a moment she is running.
"I know that he was there, I see him. She said to herself. She stops a moment when she reached the place where she see the Sergeant, she's panting and breathing heavily.
She shouted his name over and over again.
" I know you are here, Please show yourself to me...
Why are you doing this? Tell me, help me to understand... Why is it happening?"
She just knelt on the grass crying with her fists clenched, she didn't know why, but she feels anger for what is happening right now. She is angry she should not fall in love with the Sergeant, so, then, she will never get hurt and it will never be too hard to let him go.
Amanda follows her, she sees Chyrill kneeling on the grass she approach Chyrill instantly and give her a hug. She knows that Chyrill need that at the time of mourning. She helps Chyrill to stand up and convince her to back at the funeral ceremony.
"Did you see him?" she asked Amanda.
"See who?"
"He is here, I saw him with my naked eye, he is starring at me, I know... He was there, but, why? Why he never shows his self to me?"
"Hey... Stop... Okay? Amanda tries to wake her up from her illusions.
Chyrill just cries she did not know when her tears stop to flowing. It was as if her heart was being pierced, it seems to explode because of the pain. Words can never fully express how much Sergeant Herrera means to her.
After the funeral ceremony, she back to her room with her heavy heart and her footsteps are heavy, she doesn't want to go inside her room, she would remembered the night they shared together she doesn't know it will be the last night she will be with Sergeant Herrera, if she could only know that it will happen, she won't let go Sergeant Herrera, she wanted to feel again his kisses and hugs his strong arms that wrapped her in the cold night.
The room grows cold and she can do nothing but to shiver, she can't lose him in pieces over a long time, there is something missing in her life. Somehow, she needs to accept and tries to be brave for so many times that she always says to herself.
Once again, she reads the letter that Sergeant Herrera wrote to her, she cried again and put the letter in her chest and its almost crumble. No matter how she tries the pain can't go away. This pain is tearing her apart
A life without him is like an empty shell that longing for comfort, an empty heart that needs love. I wore his promise in my finger, I can't understand his reason for causing me pain. Loving him is a life to me. Should I let him go and live a life alone.
