CHAPTER 13

THE BRACELET
Amanda does not come down to the kitchen since she is now preoccupied with completing an application that her boss has assigned to her.
"Dear, I brought you coffee and bread for you; I just noticed that you didn't come down."
"I'm sorry, mommy; I'm just really busy right now."
She ate what her auntie brought. After 20 minutes, she felt dizzy and called Kitty.
"Hello Kit? I'll tell you something sometimes I don't really know why after eating I feel dizzy."
"Maybe you're pregnant?"
"I don't know Kit, I don't have a pregnancy test here."
"Buy at the pharmacy! When did that start?"
"I don't know when Kit, when I drink the medicine the dizziness gradually disappears."
"Go check-up. Maybe it's because you're pregnant and you're risky for taking different medications."
"Should I tell James?"
"It's up to you if you say it!"
"Alright, Amanda, if you need anything or help, don't be shy with me."
"Thank you Kitty."
She didn't feel comfortable, so she drank it. Her  nausea was unbearable, and she laid down on the bed and heard a noise in the other room. Knocking on the walls and the woman's cry were what she heard; she covered her ears with a pillow until she fell asleep. She slept for four hours because she was so dizzy and felt a headache when she woke up today. She went downstairs to drink water in the kitchen and felt very lethargic. She thought of going to the pharmacy because there was only one medicine left and she was going to buy a pregnancy test just in case she was pregnant. She went upstairs and took her purse and car keys to go to the pharmacy. When she opened the door, she couldn't open it, and it was locked from the outside.
"Mommy Shaira, where are you?" Amanda called. Her aunt did not answer.
Because she wasn't feeling well, she went back to her room and rested until she fell asleep again.
Amanda missed many calls, and one was from her boss, whom she didn't realize had called.
"Amanda, Sir Claude was looking for you. Call him when you read this message," message from Kitty.
When she woke up, she read it all and called her boss.
"Hello sir, I'm sorry I didn't answer."
"Amanda, I need the application now. Send within today! What I did tell you?"
"Okay sir, I'm sorry again."
Amanda forced herself to get up and do what she was told to do. After one hour and thirty minutes, she finished and called the boss.
"Sir, please check my work. I'm done."
"Alright, I'll check and inform you if there is a revision."
"Okay, sir, thank you." Amanda went to her drawer and ate a biscuit.
After a few minutes, she went back to lie down and Lara called.
"Amanda, how are you doing there?"
"I don't feel good, Lara!"
"Take your medicine!"
"Lara, the downstairs door is locked, I can't leave the house, and auntie isn't here."
"How's that, Amanda? We are worried about you." "Well, if only I could come to see you there, I would really go; I can't help you right now, I'm busy at work."
"Okay, Lara, I will call you later. I have work to accomplish right now."
She was tired and had fallen asleep. When she awoke, she puzzled why she wasn't in her bed and staggered into a room.
"This is the second time it's happened. I don't remember coming here."
"Show yourself if you need anything!" she exclaimed.
"Why do you always make me feel scared?" she added.
Suddenly a bracelet fell on a table, and she approached it. She picked up a very beautiful bracelet from the floor.
"Whose could it be?" She thought about giving it to her auntie, and she went down. She knocked on the door, and the door was opened for her because she couldn't see the inside of the room because only her head was out.
"What is that?" grumpy question and straight face.  "Ahmm, can I just ask if this is yours?"
"Did you forget that?"
Amanda wondered. Auntie closed the door after she asked. She returned to her room and looked at the bracelet, which she liked, and she put it on.
"Maybe this will be the key for Auntie to remember her memories and the answers to my question," she said to herself.
The next day, she woke up early to cook because she couldn't eat properly.
"Dear, why are you there? Let me do that!"
"Mommy Shaira, just relax there and I will cook." "Don't be stubborn, dear!"
"Okay, Mommy Shaira. Ahmm, can I just go to town and buy medicine?"
"Are you trying to escape? I forbade you to go out for a long time!" Her auntie replied hostilely.
Amanda was perplexed when her aunt Shaira told her harsh words, despite the fact that she has only been living here for a month. I always told you to stay in your room rather than wander outside. I only want to buy medicine because I get dizzy sometimes, Mommy Shaira.
"You are deficient in nutrients, Farhye; you never want to eat my food, and you always want to be the one to cook."
"You know I noticed that you often leave the house," she added.
Amanda wonders why she called her Farhye.
"Ahmm... Mommy Shaira, I never left the house; I'm always here at home. I have work to do on my computer."
"Oh, just listen to me dear." Her auntie's color has come out, and now it has started.
