Amanda heard a woman's voice singing while she was seated on her room's chair, as if her voice could lull you to sleep.
"Little one, little one, sleep now Your mother is not here, She went to buy some bread. Little one, little one, sleep now."
She went out of her room and looked for the voice of the woman who sang the lullaby. She went down the stairs and thought that the woman whose song was outside the house She opened the door and saw the auntie embroidering on a handkerchief while sitting on the rocking chair.
"Oh dear, come sit down and look at my work; it is beautiful, isn't it?"
"You are a great auntie; your voice is also beautiful; I can hear it up there."
"Thank you, dear, I just wanted to ask, are you hungry?" "Ah, it is not Auntie."
"Come and sit next to me, and put your chair here in front of me, and I will fix your hair."
"You know I used to do this to my daughter, who used to have beautiful, wavy brown hair."
Amanda was combing her hair and singing a lullaby.
"Is my voice really good or not really good?" she asked again with a laugh.
"Yes, auntie, your voice is awesome, and by the way, auntie, where are your husband and your daughter?"
"They have left me, dear," she said sparingly.
Amanda didn't ask again because she noticed that her aunt's mood would change when she asked about her family. "Auntie, let me cook you a snack first. Would you like it?" "Alright, dear," she answered with a smile. Amanda went to the kitchen and looked at the stocks in the refrigerator. "Auntie, there's nothing to cook here in the kitchen." I'm going to the mall to get groceries first. Auntie, are you coming with me? "Yes, just a moment, and I will get my bag." Her auntie went to the room, and she slowly followed her; she only reached the door and peeked into the room without the auntie knowing that she followed. She saw some medicines on the table. When Auntie took action to face the door, she quickly left. "Dear, come, and let's go." "Alright, Auntie, I will just get my wallet upstairs; I forgot it." "I will wait for you here, dear." Amanda wondered what those medicines were for. Maybe her aunt had a serious illness, and she felt pity, especially since she was alone. "Auntie, come and sit here next to me and put on your seat belt." During the trip, they were silent, and Amanda noticed Auntie Shaira's hands; it was like a mannerism. "Are you okay, auntie?" "I'm fine, dear, and I'm sorry if we ran out of food in the fridge."
"If you hadn't told me today, we would not have had anything to eat today." "It's okay, Auntie; we have a car; that's easy." When they arrived at the mall, her auntie was a bit restless. She put her scarf on her head and bent down when she saw something; they are the police. Amanda didn't ask why she hides her face with the scarf. While Amanda was at the grocery store, she noticed her auntie, who was very scared. It no longer looks at the goods but at the people who pass by. So Amanda called it.
"Auntie, come here and do some shopping; maybe you want to buy something!"
"Auntie? Auntie?" She called her again because she didn't seem to hear her. She approached it and seemed anxious or restless, as if she were afraid of something. "Auntie, are you okay?" "Come, and I will buy you some food to eat." They ate, and Amanda noticed that her aunt was eating in a hurry. "Take it easy, auntie, when you eat." "Let's go," she said, which Amanda did not understand. "Alright, Auntie, wait. I will just finish this first." They left the mall, and she hurriedly entered the car, and Amanda was shocked because she did not understand her aunt's reaction. She did not sit beside her. Her auntie looked out the window and suddenly covered her ears. It was seen in Amanda's car mirror. "Auntie, are you okay?" but she didn't answer, and when they arrived at the house, she went straight to the room and immediately locked the door. Amanda put her ear to the door and listened to what her auntie said. "You! It's all your fault! You're worthless!" The auntie was uttering words inside her room. Amanda wondered why her auntie was so strange. So she tried to knock on it, but she heard some commotion, so when her auntie's room was quiet, she went to the kitchen and put the groceries in the fridge and brought some food that she could eat if she was hungry, and she went upstairs to the room. When she went upstairs, she heard her auntie speak again and laughed all of a sudden. Amanda thought that her auntie might have a mental illness. She wondered what kind of medicine it was. She sat down and opened her laptop to do her work, and she also checked to see if anyone had left a message on the phone and saw James' missed calls. Her phone was on silent, so she didn't answer it. She contacted James and told her what happened.
"Babe, do I still have to stay here?" "Auntie is a bit strange; I just noticed her like that," Amanda decided confusedly.
"Babe, it's a pity if your auntie has a problem like that, and what about when she's alone?"
"If she's like that, no one will help her, and you're her only relative."
"That's what I thought, babe, and sometimes Auntie's house is creepy."
" Hello babe? Hello?"
The two of them lost communication, and upon checking by Amanda, it turned out that her internet had expired. While she was sitting, she first closed her eyes and did a breathing exercise. Every puff of air from her mouth sounded like a strange voice that she heard, and she decided to stop first. Suddenly, a cold wind hit her body, and her bristles stood up.
"In Jesus name, in Jesus name," she recited the name of the Lord, and the cold touch of air disappeared. The pounding in her chest grew stronger, but she still overcame her fear. Since she would not be able to go to town and buy internet, all she did was lie down on her bed. At night, she plans to go there early. She got down and went to the kitchen and thought of cooking, and when she looked at Auntie Shaira's room, it was slightly open, and she saw that she was carrying a doll, and she heard what she was saying.
"Ssssh, hold on, mommy is here."
"Daddy won't hurt you, okay?" Amanda slowly went to the kitchen, where she had to cook dinner. When she finished cooking, she knocked on her aunt's door.
"Auntie, come, let's eat. The food is ready."
"Alright, dear," her aunt answered from her room.
"Baby, stay there. Mommy will eat first to get stronger and healthier."
Amanda heard and wondered what happened and about her aunt's history.
"Dear, why did you cook for me?"
"I don't want you to get tired. "Let's eat," said her auntie, who was excited to eat.
