CHAPTER 7

                 THE OLD GARMENTS
Her aunt entered the room after knocking on the door.
"Dear, I know you only brought a few clothes, and yet I will give them to you."
"Auntie, that's quite too many."
"Dear, these are my old clothes that I don't wear," the aunt said elatedly, excited to see Amanda wearing all of the clothes she brought.
"It will suit you, and you will look great in these clothes; try all of them."
Amanda was reluctant to accept the clothes because she felt shy.
"Come on, sweetheart, don't be shy!"
"Thank you, Auntie."
"No need to thank me, dear; I noticed the clothes you wore repeatedly."
As Amanda took a look at the clothes, she noticed that they all had similar fashion preferences. Amanda tried on all the garments and found that she truly liked them all.
"Sweetheart, let's go for a ride later when you're not doing anything."
"Of course, Auntie, I will go with you."
She continued trying on the garments, seeing whether they fit, while her aunt left the room. When she looked in the mirror, she noted that their tastes were similar.
"What if I ask her what I saw in the forest? Maybe she doesn't know. I will just look for good timing when she's in a good mood, or I will get to know her well first."
The process takes time to find the answer.
"Wow, this auntie seemed to have a loving manner. She was kind, but sometimes she just had something that I didn't understand. She was showing compassion; maybe something bad happened to her family in the past, so she wanted me to ask permission first if I ever left her home," she spoke while facing the mirror.
Amanda tried to understand her aunt's behavior. Her aunt would like to go on a ride with Amanda, as she is new to the town.
"Oh, sweetie, you look stunning in the clothes I gave you, and it's great that you cherish them."
"Thank you, auntie, and it's a good thing that you hid your clothes."
"You're welcome! "Shall we go?"
"Yes, Auntie, I'm prepared."
"We're going to take the challenging, curvy road before we can reach the summit mountain," her aunt chuckled.A stunning spot was shown to her. They have finally reached the mountain top, and Amanda was amazed by the spectacular view.
"The place here is extremely relaxing and peaceful," Amanda said.
"This was our land before, but when my mother got sick, we had to sell it because we were out of money; then we want to buy it back, but we can't."
"You had mentioned earlier that your children had left?"
"Yes, dear, they ran away with their father."
"It's sad that you are alone." Her aunt just smiled.
"What happened that they ran away?"
"I just don't know and don't remember anything more," her aunt just replied sparingly.
Amanda didn't pursue continuing the conversation with her aunt.
To enable her to share them with her pals, Amanda started snapping some pictures.
"Wow, super nice Amanda, and we also wanted to visit there soon," a message from her closest friend Kitty.
Through a video conversation, James spoke with Amanda.
"Hey, babe, I have seen the photos, and it's incredibly amazing, and I want to visit there."
"Yes babe"
"How do you feel that you have reached the top?"
"The grandeur of the globe and the stunning horizon may be seen from mountain views, which are also quite peaceful and calming to the eyes." You feel as though you are going to count the stars when you are at the top and can clearly see the gorgeous blue sky filled with them. Mountains have extremely distinct landscapes, while beaches always have the same views of the crashing waves and the clear ocean.
Her aunt overheard them conversing.
"Amanda, you have a boyfriend, right? What if you tell him to visit our house?" her auntie said.
"Are you okay with that auntie?"
"Yes, of course."
"Auntie, if he has time and has completed the task he is working on, he will come here."
"That's great, dear."
Amanda felt a little relieved that her aunt shared a little about her life.
When the sun seemed to be setting, her aunt asked her to go home.
Amanda went straight to her room and laid down because she was exhausted from the trip. Her phone rang.
"Hello James, Auntie said you should come here when you have time."
"Babe, for sure, tomorrow I will go there and call you after."
"Okay, babe, be careful!"
"Take care, babe. I love you always. Bye!"They said goodbye to each other, and she just sat on her bed and relaxed before she started to work.
She was in the middle of the forest, and it was dark, and she saw a man walking, and it was not far from her. It just bent down and started to run. Because she did not know that man, she was terrified. She was running because the man was chasing her. She sweated a lot because she was so scared. She saw a big tree, and she hid there. She took a deep breath and relaxed because she had been running around in the forest for a while and now she was just sitting. She peeked and looked around, and when she peeked to the left, she saw the woman with blood on her clothes and long hair, but her face was not visible. It approached her, and she couldn't stand, so she just backed away from the seat. The woman came closer and closer, and she screamed and trembled. Suddenly she got up and opened her eyes, thinking the incident was real, but it was all just a dream. She fell asleep while sitting.and she noticed that it was now morning.
"Hayss, also in the dream, these spirits want to scare me."
"Calm down, Amanda," she said to herself while sitting on the bed, and because she was feeling annoyed, she came down.
"Auntie!           Auntie!"           It was not answered, and the door was locked. Amanda went out and went to the balcony and saw her auntie, who was there at the vegetable farm.
She hadn't noticed when she first arrived that this farm was owned by her aunt.
"Your farm, auntie, is very beautiful."
"Oh, you surprised me, dear."
"Yes, I sell it in the market. Have you noticed that I'm not here at home sometimes? I was at the market. It provides for my needs, and this is my source of income."
"You are great, auntie. Are you the only ones who planted it all?"
"Well, yes, I am still strong enough to do some digging."
"Auntie, if you don't have the money, don't worry, I will give it to you."
"Dear, I'm used to being here on the farm. I also get bored when there's nothing to do. I enjoy growing vegetables and crops."
Her aunt was pleased that Amanda had contributed to the planting.
"I didn't know you worked here!" Her aunt smiled at her and said, "You didn't ask me what my job was or where I was going."
