Chapter 38 The Last

"Izen are you sure?" he asked worriedly. He tried to stop Izen who was opening the case file on the table. But he didn't have the guts to do it.
Izen nodded quickly, "I'm already very well." Izen smiled.
The person still looked at him worriedly, “B-but you were still relieved of duty and ordered to rest.” he tried to stop Izen, “Moreover your co-workers matter. It will definitely make you sad.”
Izen patted the person's shoulder, "You calm down." and makes the person appear calmer.
"Sure." the police officer answered in a flat tone.
"I'm not comfortable just lying on the bed. It will be more convenient if I get to work soon.” Izen is back at work. He felt he might find something or a related case.
“You really look fine,” suddenly someone from behind Izen joined the conversation. "Perhaps I can ask more about the Redwiston Rudal case." Jihan approached.
Izen looked at him, "Jihan,".
Jihan opened his book, “About Redwiston Rudal. The last time you were with him was before you fell into a coma a month ago. You were investigating a case at that time, weren't you?" Jihan looked at Izen and brought his face closer, "What case is it Mr. Izen?"
Izen hesitated, he didn't know if Jihan would easily believe the case regarding research on the human senses. And he also didn't want someone unrelated to know about this, it was too dangerous. He was the one who made Rudal now nowhere to be found. That's because he took Rudal to solve this case. That's why he didn't want anyone else to be involved.
For a few moments of silence. Izen didn't answer anything and Jihan was still waiting for an answer from him.
"Sorry to bother you," until someone's voice broke the silence between Izen and Jihan. The two of them turned towards the source of the voice, “There is an urgent case. Mr Izen." the police officer looked at Izen.
"Sure, let's go there." Izen smiled. “Sorry Jihan, there is an urgent case. Our conversation can be finished another time.” Izen walked out following the police officer.
Jihan didn't stop Izen. He just stared at Izen who was slowly walking away.
"The victim just called the police." said the police officer. They are already at the scene. "Unfortunately he was not saved. But there is a possibility that the perpetrator is still not far away.”
Izen crouched down, looking at the victim lying on the floor covered in blood. "He was running south west, he probably wanted to go to the train station." said Izen.
The police officer was confused, “Eh? How do you know?"
Izen looked up at the police officer, "I saw it, what else if not that?" Izen looked confused.
"How did you see it?" The police officer was even more confused. Because they went to the crime scene at the same time and he didn't see the culprit at all.
"If you want to catch him, hurry." said Izen.
The police officer fidgeted, but he immediately alerted the other officers to the location of the culprit and immediately chased after him.
Izen alone in there, "Oh there's one more," said Izen, "Because I was paying too much attention to the others I just realized," there is another person there.
"Don't turn around," another man's voice from behind Izen, "I'm have a gun. And I aim it to your head." he said.
"I know," said Izen casually. The man was confused. "I can hear it." replied Izen as he turned his body towards the person.
“I-I said don't turn around!” the person was frightened and subconsciously pulled the trigger of the gun in his hand. Gunshots were heard. The person fell to the floor with his hands shaking violently. “Y-you-you…?” he was scared.
“W-w-why don't you die?” he stammered, after someone he shot with both hands and he saw himself with both eyes looked fine. He dropped the gun on the floor.
"Because I caught the bullet?" Izen seemed to be questioning it too.
“Y-you mo-monster… how could a human catch…” she was terrified and tried to run away from that place in a hurry.
“Mr Izen!” another police officer who was downstairs came into the room, "We heard gunshots, are you all right." those who came saw another perpetrator and immediately arrested that person. Handcuffs him and secures the man.
“H-he-he's a monster!!” the man was screaming.
"Are you out of your mind?" the police officer pulled the man into the car. While the man was still shouting that.
Izen crouched down in front of the corpse again. The smell of blood is pungent and still fresh. He was silent there for a few moments.
“Mr Izen?” asked another police officer.
“He was killed with a knife. The man with the gun was not the culprit. You can find the knife in the river not far from here. He threw it when he ran away." Izen muttered.
“Master Izen how come?” The police officer was confused.
Izen gasped, he realized it. He shouldn't have known all that stuff. He should not have seen the perpetrator who had run away from the crime scene. He shouldn't have heard someone behind him. He shouldn't be able to catch a bullet with his bare hands especially since he can see where the bullet is going. Moreover, being able to see what happened to the victim.
“If you don't believe you can look for the murder weapon in the river. The river is shallow and has no current.” Izen looked up at the police officer and he smiled.
The officer was still confused, but he walked away anyway. Before he left, Izen stopped him.
"Oh and don't forget." said Izen, stopping the police officer. "It wasn't me who said that." Izen looked at the officer.
Suddenly the officer's face went blank, “Of course. You weren't the one who said that."
“And I'm not a monster or a freak or anything. OK?" Izen asked again with a smile and made an okay motion in his hand.
The clerk imitated Izen's hand, “Okay…” but he said it with a flat tone and expression, then the officer left the room. "You're not a monster or a freak."
Izen sighed, "Ah so I'm the last jar."
