CHAPTER 30

Detective Lee stood outside the hospital room, steeling himself for the confrontation he knew was coming. Inside lay his twin brother, Octavius, who had been still injured in a shootout with Mr. Johnson at what happened on the old-cabin.
But despite their shared DNA, Lee can't resist the reality that he and Octavius were worlds apart. Lee was a detective, sworn to uphold the law, while Octavius was a notorious criminal, and doing illegal things with Mr. Johnson.
Taking a deep breath, Lee pushed open the door and stepped into the room. Octavius was lying in the hospital bed, his face bandaged and his body hooked up to a tangle of machines.
Lee couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt as he looked at his brother's broken form. After all, Octavius saved Detective Lee. But somewhere along the way, Octavius had taken a different path, and now it was Lee's job to bring him to justice.
"Lee," Octavius croaked, his voice barely audible. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to see how you're doing," Lee replied, his tone cool and professional.
Octavius snorted. "Don't play games with me, brother. I know why you're here. You're waiting for me to get better so you can throw me in jail."
Lee felt a pang of anger. "You know as well as I do that you deserve to be locked up. You've been breaking the law for years, putting innocent people in danger."
"But... You saved me and I don't want you to go in jail but that is my job, I'm sorry" Detective Lee added
Octavius shook his head. "That's not how I see it. I'm just taking what's mine, what I deserve. You think you're so high and mighty, but you're just a pawn in their game." Octavius smile at Detective Lee while looking so serious at the time "Don't apologize, I understand"
Days and weeks had passed the courtroom was packed with people, all eyes on Octavius as he stood trial for the illegal activities he had committed on Mr. Johnson's side.
Detective Lee sat in the front row, watching his twin brother with a mixture of anger and sadness. He knew Octavius had made some bad choices, but he never thought it would lead to this.
Detective Lee feel anger in his self because he can't fight for Octavius. And a feeling of sadness because despite of what Octavius has done, he saved Detective Lee's life.
Octavius took the stand, and Detective Lee watched as his brother's eyes darted nervously around the room. He knew how much Octavius had been struggling with his conscience over the past few months, and he couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for putting him in this position. But it had to be done.
And as Detective Lee stood in the courtroom, watching his twin brother Octavius being sentenced to prison for his illegal activities, he couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. On one hand, he was relieved that justice had been served, but on the other hand, he couldn't help but feel a sense of loss.
The prosecutor began to question Octavius, and Detective Lee watched as his brother's shoulders tensed up. He knew that Octavius was about to reveal everything he knew. He held his breath as Octavius took a deep breath and began to speak.
"I was working for Mr. Johnson," Octavius said, his voice shaking slightly. "I helped him with his drug trafficking operation. I knew it was wrong, but I needed the money. And I owe my life to him."
Detective Lee felt a knot form in his stomach.
"Can you tell us more?" the prosecutor asked.
Octavius hesitated for a moment, and Detective Lee could see the fear in his brother's eyes. But then he spoke, and the words poured out of him in a rush.
"He's been running drugs through the city for years," Octavius said. "He has people working for him in every corner of the city. He's been paying off cops and judges to keep his operation running smoothly. And he's killed anyone who's ever tried to cross him. And I... I'm on it."
The judge looked down at Octavius sternly. "Mr. Lee, you stand before me today having committed a number of serious offenses. Your actions have hurt many people, and the consequences of your choices will be felt for years to come."
Detective Lee felt a chill run down his spine.
The prosecutor continued to question Octavius, and Detective Lee listened intently as his brother revealed more and more about Mr. Johnson's operation. He felt a sense of pride and relief that Octavius was finally doing the right thing, but also a sense of sadness that his brother had gotten involved in such a dangerous world in the first place.
Octavius hung his head in shame. He knew that he had done wrong, and that he deserved to be punished for his crimes. But he couldn't help feeling a sense of relief that he had finally come clean.
"I understand the severity of my actions, Your Honor," Octavius said softly. "I know that I have hurt a lot of people, including my own family. I am prepared to accept whatever consequences you see fit."
The judge nodded slowly. "Your admission of guilt is a step in the right direction, Mr. Lee. However, your crimes cannot go unpunished. I am sentencing you to five years in prison, with the possibility of early release for good behavior."
Octavius nodded, accepting his fate. As he was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs, he knew that he had a long road ahead of him.
After hours of testimony, Octavius was finally finished. The judge adjourned the court, and Detective Lee rushed to his brother's side.
"Are you okay?" he asked, putting a hand on Octavius's shoulder.
Octavius looked up at him with tears in his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Lee," he said. "I'm so sorry for everything I've done."
Detective Lee felt a lump form in his throat. He had always known that Octavius was a good person at heart, even if he had made some bad choices. He hugged his brother tightly, feeling a sense of pride and gratitude for what he had done.
"You did the right thing, Octavius," he said. "And I'm proud of you for it."
Several months later, Detective Lee visited Octavius in prison.
Octavius looked up as Detective Lee entered his cell. "Hey, brother," he said quietly.
Detective Lee nodded, trying to hide the sadness in his eyes. "How are you doing, Octavius?"
Octavius shrugged. "It's not great, obviously. But I'm managing. I have a lot of time to think about what I did, and I'm trying to use this as an opportunity to become a better person."
Detective Lee smiled slightly. "That's good to hear. I'm proud of you for admitting your mistakes and taking responsibility for your actions."
Octavius looked at his brother, feeling a sense of guilt wash over him. "I'm sorry, Lee," he said softly
Detective Lee shook his head. "It's not your fault, Octavius. You made some bad choices, but we all have to live with the consequences of our actions. I just want you to know that I'm here for you, no matter what."
Octavius nodded, feeling grateful for his brother's support. As he sat in his cell, he thought about everything that had happened over the past few months. He knew that he had a long way to go, but he was determined to turn his life around.
As he drifted off to sleep that night, Octavius felt a sense of peace wash over him. Despite everything that had happened, he knew that he was on the path to redemption. He had made some mistakes, but he was determined to learn from them and become a better person.
