Volume 3: Nine
* Happy Christmas Eve, Readers! *
Author's POV.
Two hours later.
Jemmy walked towards her Dad's car and gently knocked on its window.
The black tinted window was scrolled down almost immediately and her Dad's face came into view.
" It's you, Jemmy! " He unlocked the back passenger seat for her and she opened the door and entered before shutting it back.
" So how was the examination, baby girl? " He enquired.
" It was great, Dad! It was a little easier than I expected.." she exclaimed happily.
" As I expected, Congratulations, Jemmy! " He replied Proudly.
Despite not seeing the results of the examination yet, he could already boast that she passed the examination... Excellently well.
" Thanks, Dad. " She replied,  " I think me passing this examination is all thanks to you and mom. " She replied.
" Um, it's your hard work paying off, since it's still early. " He checked his watch, " Do you have any place on your mind we can go? " He asked her.
" Oh, is that okay?  " She inquired.
" Of course, it is. " He said ruffling her hair.
" Um.. why don't we head to a Chinese restaurant to have some hot pot. "
" Hot pot? Where did you hear about it? " He was Suprised.
" Well, I heard Aunt Lucia talking about it once. "
" Oh, let me check to see if there's a Chinese restaurant around. " He said taking out his phone and opening the Google maps app.
" Found it. " He announced about five minutes later, " it's about Fifteen minutes drive from here. " He added.
" Alright, Dad. " She sat up, Adam started the car and soon drove it out of the school compound.
During the whole journey, Jemmy busied herself with looking out of the window into the streets.
She couldn't help but think of how so much time have passed, it looked like just a few days when she celebrated her 5year old birthday and now she's 10 and about to resume secondary school, how time flies, she thought.
[ A/N: indeed, how time flies, a year ago I was 15, now I am 16, in about 5months time I'll be 17 and will resume college. ]

" What are you thinking about, Jemmy? " Her Dad's voice rang all of a sudden in the room interrupting her from her thoughts.
" Well, I was just thinking of how time flies really. " She Confessed.
" Yeah, time wastes for no man so we have to do things at the right time and space. " He told her.
" Yeah, Btw, next year should be your and Mom's 12th wedding anniversary, right? "
" Yes, I remember that. "
" So we are going to have a Celebration right? "
" Of course, We will, "  he sighed,  "  The Preparations for it will commence soon," he added.
" Oh, I am so excited! I can't wait! " She Exclaimed happily.
Adam smiled looking at her expression in the rearview mirror,  all he wanted was for her to be happy every moment of the day, it doesn't matter how but he just made sure to give her what she wanted, he could vividly remember the doctor's words from ten years ago.
All over the years, she had been well taken care of that one who doesn't know won't be able to guess that she's SS, though, she fell sick multiple times in the past but it wasn't that serious.
Despite this, the words of one of the doctors kept ringing in his head, << Most people with Sickle cell often die in their early thirties while some don't live up to then and only survive to their twenties. >>
Those words broke his heart, though the years were Still far away the fact that his baby girl's life is a little short still made him feel intense pain in his heart.
He wished he could just reverse all this, Despite all the wealth he possessed, he couldn't do anything to change her blood group and be rest assured of her long life in healthiness.
All this made him realize that money can't solve all things, though it might try it can't completely take away all the problems.
No matter what, he still felt thankful that his baby girl is happy even though it might be for only a short period but still he felt very thankful.
He wiped a lone tear out from his eyes before his super observant daughter caught it.
They arrived at the Chinese restaurant in no time at all and they both highlighted at the car.
Immediately they got out, it caused a stir, though they were both putting on Shades to avoid being recognized still their presence stood out completely from the crowd.
The women Swooned seeing the father-daughter duo walking into the restaurant, the restaurant attendant also couldn't help but stop what they were doing just to turn and stare at them after all it isn't every day they get to see this sight.
The duo went directly to the private room, they had booked already and taken their seats, the private Waiter came over later to take their orders and left immediately after taking it.
" Wow! The restaurant is very beautiful! " Jemmy exclaimed staring at the beautiful waterfall that was within view.
" It is. " Adam smiled.
Soon their order came and they began eating.
" It's so yummy! I didn't expect it to be this good, I thought Aunt Lucia was just exaggerating when she said it was. "
" She wasn't. It indeed is. " Adam Replied.
" Have you had hot pot before, Dad? "
" Yeah, twice when I traveled to Beijing for some business. "
" Oh wow! Lucky you. " She said as she took a mouthful of Soup.
" You can have hot pot whenever you like. " He said.
"Dad? "
" Of course, Anything for my Baby girl! "
" Aw, thanks, Dad. "
" It's my pleasure. "
Soon they became engrossed in eating and forgot about anything else.
They finished their meal about thirty minutes later and paid for their orders before leaving the restaurant and heading back home.
[ A/N: When will I have hot pot guys? ].....
