Volume 3: Fourteen.
* Happy New year, readers!!! *
The duo walked out of the class and began walking through the corridors.
They descended the stairs and began advancing towards the canteen.
But just as they were about to reach there, they heard sniffing sounds.
At first, they didn't think much of it but as they walked, the sounds became louder.
They both paused and turned to face each other, " I think we should go check out what's wrong? " Jemmy suggested.
" Hm. " Stacy nodded and soon they were walking towards where they heard the sounds.
As they walked towards the Senior's block, they saw a girl sitting on the ground beside an abandoned staircase, she had her head in between her knees.
Moving closer to her, the duo noticed that the girl in question was trembling greatly and was also sniffing loudly.
They stared at each other before carefully approaching her, Jemmy got to the girl's side and carefully placed her hands on the girl's shoulders, this act startled the girl a little as she raised her head in fright.
Immediately she did, the duo was faced with a very beautiful face, sky blue eyes, circular-shaped face, Pointed nose, and dark brown long chilly hair which were now sticking to her stair-stained face.
Though her eyes were red and puffy, it didn't stop her beauty from being portrayed but rather, it made her look like a stunningly beautiful damsel.
The duo was wowed by the beauty in front of them.
They were so lost in their fantasy that they didn't realize that the girl was now staring eerily at them, " What do you guys want? Are you here to make fun of me or what? " The girl said, though she tried to make her voice sound violent instead it sounded the opposite.
" We aren't here to make fun of you or whatever you are thinking, but on the contrary, we are here to help you. " Jemmy drawled slowly.
" And why would you do that? " The girl inquired weirdly.
" Because we care. " This time, Stacy was the one that Replied.
" You don't have to pretend to care about me since no one cares anyway. " The girl said somberly.
" And who told you that, girl? " Jemmy asked softly.
"... " The girl didn't reply.
Seeing this, Jemmy carefully held the girl's hand. The girl was actually around their age as she looked so small and frail.
" What happened, girl? Why were you crying? Did anyone bully you? " Jemmy tried to keep her voice as soft as possible.
" Why do you care? " The girl said slowly, though it seemed like she wanted to speak out but she didn't want to at the same time.
" Because, you are a human just like me and all humans should help one another, okay? "
" Ah! And who told you that? " Though the girl tried to hide it the duo could detect the curiosity in her orbs, they both couldn't help but smile inwardly at this.
It seemed like they were moving forward, they weren't fighting a losing battle after all, as the girl was now responding to them.
Though the girl hadn't begun opening up to them they weren't worried anymore as they knew that at this rate, she will soon open up.
They just had to be patient.
" That's what my Dad told me, he also said that human beings should be treated equally. " Jemmy Replied.
" But they aren't. " The girl said as a tear fell from her eyes, she wiped it away quickly but this act didn't escape the eyes of the duo.
" I know but still we just have to learn how to, only then will we be able to teach others how to. "
" Perhaps. "
" So, can you please tell us what's wrong, girl? " Stacy said as she moved closer to her.
" Well... " The girl hesitated.
" You can talk to us, you Know. We mean no harm, we just want to help you. " Jemmy urged as she squeezed her hand softly as if to give her the strength and courage to speak.
" My close friends embarrassed me in class today. " She began.
" That's sad, Why? What happened? "
" I thought of them as my friends but I doubt they are. "
" Okay...."
" I always wanted someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, and a place where I could always vent out my emotions without any fear. "
" That's normal. "
" Well, I thought it is, but I was wrong... "
" How? "
" I didn't know that my so-called friends had been talking about me behind my back. "
" That's not good. "
" Um.. even when I confronted them, they didn't feel an ounce of guilt. They to guilt-trip me. "
" How? "
" They claimed that I always ruin their day with my complaints, they claimed that I always behaved like I was the only one in pain. They claimed that I was too selfish and I only cared about myself. "
" But I don't think you are. "
" Perhaps you are only saying this because you don't know me well, you just saw me today so how could you be so sure? "
" When we asked you what was wrong, you didn't want to tell us at all. It was as if you were scared of being a burden. " Jemmy remarked.
" And, it also isn't your fault that you are the way you are. "
" Really? "
" Of course. "
" Why don't you tell us what happened exactly? What's making you feel so sad and unwanted? "
" Well. it's a very long story. "
" We know, but even the longest books can be summarized right? "
" I guess you are right. "
" So, Please open up to us. " Jemmy urged.
" Remember, a problem shared is half solved. "
" Um.. it all began several years ago... " She began.
