Chapter 20

5:55 PM...
At Candice's house...
Candice is trying her best to focus on her science homework, though her mind is in the state of trying to explode right now. This is definetly not the best time to think about what happened after school earlier which totally changes her mood way too far. Yet, she's always known to have her mood swing days. If only she could stop remembering that damn scene.
FLASHBACK...
After school...
"Great show, Candy," says Tiffany as she and Patrick are standing next to Candy.
"Thank you, Tiffany! You guys were great as well!"
"Aww..thanks! I think we all did a splendid job," says Patrick as he puts his arms around Tiffany, in which she slightly glance at him.
"Well, gotta go! My dad already reserved a table at Morgan's Cuisine. I have to get ready 6:30 PM," says Tiffany.
"With the whole family?" Patrick asks.
"Of course, Pat," says Tiffany.
Just as Candice was listening to Tiffany and Patrick, a familiar couple walks behind them at caught her attention. Out of all the people in school, these are definetly the people that got most of her attention.
"That was epic," says Liana as she stands in front of her locker with Arthur staring at her deeply.
"I'll say. You look hot back there," says Arthur with a seductive look.
Liana blushes at the sight of Arthur staring seductively into her eyes. "Thanks, babe!"
Before any of them could say another word, Arthur slowly pulls Liana into his embrace, where their lips locked. The two got lost in their little moment, it didn't took long for Candice (and everyone else) to notice that the two love birds starts making out, not even caring if a teacher walks pass them.
"Well they sure look excited," says Liam as he approaches Candice who is staring at them intensly.
"Give the couple some privacy! They deserve some alone time," says Carter as he walks pass Liam.
Candice didn't even bother to pay attention to anyone right now. She couldn't move her eyes away from the sight of Arthur making out with Liana. Head-cheerleader, beauty queen, and of course, her best friend who is way out of her league. As she tries her best to hold back tears that are starting to fill her eyes, she runs away from the scene to hide her face from her world. She needed to get out of here, and reality.
END OF FLASHBACK
Candice twirls her pen as she stares at her science homework with dullness. She's really not in the mood to study right now. All she could think about is her crush making out with her best friend who is 10 times hotter than her, in which made her feel insecure.
"If only I was as beautiful as her, maybe you would have liked me a bit. Maybe our relationship could turn into something more than a one night stand. Maybe you would be more attracted to me," Candice says to herself.
Till now, she still remembers the night she had with Arthur. Yes, that one night she actually felt like a woman. How she wished she could turn back time once again.
FLASHBACK...
"Arthur, I..."
"It's ok," Says Arthur before he kiss her lips slowly while lying on top of her. Slowly he tries to give her the signal that he was ready to do something more.
END OF FLASHBACK...
Damn. Candice thought. "I miss him."
Meanwhile, at Tyler's house...
Tyler is helping his mom prepare dinner for the family. He helped her cook the chicken soup and fried potatoes as she continues with making lasagna and chocolate pudding. Since young, Tyler always loved helping his mom in the kitchen. One thing he knew, he got his love for food and cooking from his mom. His mom is an excellent cook, in which Tyler always adore. Whenever he got stress from the world, he would always run to his mom's cooking for comfort. One of his favorite menu from her is definetly her special "turkey spagetti" she made every Thanksgiving. Other than that, he admires all of his mom's cooking.
"Looks delicious, Mom," says Tyler as he continues to stir the boiling chicken soup.
"Thank you, dear! You're also doing better and better," says his mother with a sweet tone.
It's true, since Tyler was 14, he had offered his mom help in the kitchen and stated that he wants to learn how to cook. From his growth, his mom could tell that he has been improving his cooking skills a lot.
"I'm surprised to see Tyler actually cooking," says Amber as she walks to the kitchen with a sassy style.
"At least I'm being productive other than just pretending to do my homework," says Tyler in a sarcastic tone.
"Watch your mouth, brother," says Amber as she puts on the biggest frown she ever had.
"Now kids! What did I tell you about arguing in the kitchen?" ask their mother sternly.
"Tyler started it," says Amber as Tyler rolled his eyes at the other direction, listening to his little sister.
The next day...
Cameron is walking through the hallway when he overheard someone crying in the ladies room. Curious, he got closer to the door. He had a feeling he knew who was crying in there. Though it's not really polite to enter the ladies room without a knock (of course), but Cameron knew this woman wouldn't let him see her at this state. By that, Cameron just slowly opens the door, to see a familiar girl sobbing at the sink.
"Paige?" Cameron asks with surprised.
The young girl was too busy sobbing her eyes out that she didn't notice Cameron entering the ladies room. He walks in gently close the door, before standing closer to her.
"Peggy? Are you crying?" Cameron asks.
Peggy finally looks up to see Cameron standing next to her with a questioned look. She instantly rubs her eyes and wipes her cheeks wet cheeks with a tissue.
"Cameron? What are you doing here? This is the ladies room," Peggy asks.
"I overheard you crying. What happened?" Cameron asks with a gentle voice. He knew how vulnerable she is at this state, and he didn't want to make her feel more fragile.
"I'm fine. It's just some hard things," says Peggy as tears slowly comes out of her eyes again.
"What is it? Maybe I can help you out," Cameron asks with curiousity. He was about to get down to business on why this woman is crying like crazy.
"Leonard..let's just forget him," says Peggy as she starts to sob again.
"What? What happened?" Cameron asks in surprised.
"I thought we were something. For a moment I felt like he loved me, and that I felt beautiful. Yet, after his little business for the talent show with Lindsay, I see that he's been more interested in her now. I saw how beautiful Lindsay was at the talent show, and I should have known better. The two went out together for dinner that night. He didn't answer my calls, and this morning I saw him walking pass the hallways with Lindsay, holding hands," says Peggy as she takes another tissue to wipe her messed up mascara.
"Lindsay? I thought she was dating Patrick," Cameron asks as he is at the point of getting confused with all the love mix.
"Patrick's been getting close to Tiffany, though I heard from Gina that the two had a little debat this morning near the guy's changing room. Lindsay stated that Leo is just a friend, while Patrick told her that he needed a break from drama. At this point, the two's relationship looks cold," says Peggy.
"He doesn't like me anymore! He loves her, and I'll never be anything like her," says Peggy as she burst down to tears for the 8th times now.
Cameron just stood there as he look at his friend all messed up. He got down and pat her back, signaling for her to stop crying so he could say a few words (and so they won't caught too much attention from their noise).
"I'm so sorry, Paige. I promise everything's gonna be ok," says Cameron.
"I want him back, Cam! I love him," says Peggy.
Cameron stare at his friend for a moment as he tries to solve some puzzles in his own mind. Honestly, he found Peggy to be a sweet girl. Her signature cute Asian eyes, sweet smile, and lovely black hair fits her perfectly. From his perspective, she just need some touch up if she wants to get Leo back on her feet.
"Say...how about if I set up a little plan with Liam for your little payback?" Cameron asks with a smirk.
"What do you mean?" Peggy asks.
"Well, we are both guys, and Liam's mom is a retired make-up artist. She now has her own make-up academy. This leads Liam to know a lot about make-up, and of course, he knew a pretty girl when he sees one. That's why he can really seem like a lady's man. But trust me, Liam and I will turn you into Cinderella overnight," says Cameron.
"I like the idea, Cameron," says Peggy as she slowly starts to form a small smile. "So when do we start?"
"After school! Meet up with me and Liam for our next plan," says Cameron with a smirk.
Meanwhile, Vincent is going through his locker to look for his English book, when a familiar female voice called out to him. Somehow, today the voice didn't sound like it was happy.
"What the hell, Vincent? I saw Tiffany dragging you through the hallway. I was about to ask you if we could go to Cup-A-Cinno after school, but you were too busy getting close to OTHER GIRLS," says Scarlett as she almost scream at the last sentence.
"Can you please be logical for once? Tiff is my best friend. We didn't do anything. Besides, you were the one who was literally flirting with Tyler yesterday," says Vincent in an annoyed tone.
"I did not flirt with that Tyler guy! We only had a convo for a while along with Gina and Aria," says Scarlett as she cross her arms.
"No way you didn't flirt! Tyler wouldn't look much of an f boy if you didn't gave him the signal," says Vincent as he finally pulls out his English book before walking away.
"You were the one who touched Tiff," says Scarlett.
"You're not making sense," says Vincent as he walks away from a furious Scarlett standing near the locker.
Recess...
Catherine is having lunch along with Carter, Victoria, and Alexis.
"Where's Alyson?" Catherine asks before she takes a sip of her carrot juice.
"She told me that she'll be joining Sam's table cuz he invited her," says Alexis as he takes a bite of his beef burger.
"Hmm..didn't know they got closer," says Victoria.
"I thought they worked well together for the talent show. They have quite the spirit," says Carter.
"That's true," says Victoria. "The two got some major chemistry."
"Are they dating though?" Alexis asks with curiosity.
"That still takes some time, Alex. But they look like good friends already," says Catherine.
After school...
"Candy! There you are," says Victoria as she walks to her best friend along with Sabrina and Catherine.
"Let's hit the mall, girl! There's a big sale going on," says Sabrina.
"I would love too, but I have to go back," says Candice.
"Oh come on, Candy! It's only for a while. Who knows all the good stuff we could get?" Sabrina asks.
Candice looks at the girls in front of her. At this state, window shopping actually sounds nice for a while. She thought it wouldn't hurt to go out for a while.
"Fine. Let's go," says Candice as the other girls cheer in excitement.
Meanwhile, Cameron is driving with Peggy to Liam's house. He had agreed to help her with her payback to get Leonard falling for her.
"You sure this will work, Cam?" Peggy asks.
"I'm pretty sure, Paige," says Cameron in a calm tone.
At Liam's house...
"Ok, so it's basically operation get Evans to regret himself for dumping a gorgeous girl like you! And let me tell you that this won't be hard," says Liam as he walks back and ford in front of Cameron and Peggy who are sitting on his sofa in his room.
"Can we just get to the plan already?" Cameron asks as he starts to get impatient.
"Ok, sorry for the long wait. First things first, all men love to get their eyes spoiled everytime. That's why, he always got his eyes on the girl who spoiled herself too much with beauty and care. This includes having a beautiful face, gorgeous body, and of course amazing taste in clothing. So the first thing we need to do now is get you a new dress to make him regret," says Liam.
"And where will we find a dress that fast? I need to win him over tomorrow. Like, as fast as possible. I don't even think I have any energy to hit the mall at this state," says Peggy with an exhausted voice.
"Liam, I think it's better if we just explore Peggy's wardrobe and see what suits her well," says Cameron.
"Good idea, Cameron! Then let's hit the Song palace," says Liam in a sassy tone.
"OMG," Peggy says to herself.
Meanwhile, at the mall...
"This is lovely," says Victoria as she studies a beautiful blue top.
"It's beautiful, Vic," says Catherine.
"Where the hell is Candy?" Sabrina asks as she tries on a big summer hat.
Candice is at the jeans section looking through some jeans that are on bargain. As she looks through the jeans, she happen to spot a guy looking through some skirts on the other side. A guy at a ladies store and looking through skirts? That's new. But one thing she knew, is that she knew this guy from school.
Candice slowly walks over to the familiar guy who is studying a mini black skirt. He got a little surprised when he noticed her.
"Candice?"
"Scott?"
To be continue...
