Chapter 33

Running by the desire of his impulsive passion, Junghwa attempted to continue his surprising kiss with Ara. Yet, shocked and confused, Ara quickly pushed him away, before giving him a light slap on his right cheek, in which shocked him.
"Hwang Junghwa, what in the craziest part of hell was that?" Ara asks in a furious tone.
Shocked at Ara's furious statement, Junghwa's lips frozes in silence while staring at Ara, who not only stares at him with fury in her eyes, yet her face shows just how upset she is at him. Just by looking at her gaze, his heart felt like a bullet just hit him right in the center, bursting out the feeling of guilt he didn't expected coming. In a moment he felt weak, he also feels helpless.
"You can't just kiss someone without their permission," Ara says in a slightly higher tone.
Upset, Ara gets up from her seat, her vision now staring down at the ground. She didn't want to stare at Junghwa any longer, since staring at him only made her feel more embarassed of herself. She begin to take some steps away from the piano, heading to the door to leave without any last words for Junghwa. Yet, as she is about to reach the door, she suddenly feel a strong grip pull her left arm, making her body twirl around as a strong figure catches her in his arms, hence throwing her into his embrace. Still in fury, Ara wanted to let out all the energy she has to pull that guy away from her. Yet, a part of her also feels sad at what just happened, hence she didn't feel like she wanted to fight more after slapping him after the kiss.
"Let me go, Junghwa," Ara says in a low tone. "You know you're just being a jerk right now."
Yet, Junghwa didn't say another word. Instead, he just tightens his arms around Ara's warm body. He didn't know how did he even have the impulsive feeling to kiss his best friend, in which lead to her being furious about it. He wanted to believe that maybe he was mesmerized by her beauty, or maybe he just missed Hana too much that he wanted to believe that Ara was Hana. Yet, he knew that his ex girlfriend and best friend are two completely different individuals, so it almost seems impossible for him to mistaken the two or even imagine that one is the other. Yet, one thing that the two girls share, is that both of them are caring souls with a genuine heart. He didn't know what really caused his impulsive heart to have the desire to kiss Ara, which he felt was surprisingly lovely, but one thing he understood was that he felt bad knowing that it made her upset.
"I'm sorry, Ara," Junghwa says in a low tone, his embrace tightens as he felt his heart feeling heavy with his running thoughts of guilt.
"I don't know what got into me," Junghwa adds. Again the guilt in his heart can be felt through his voice.
Ara didn't say a word, instead she only felt disappointed at the unexpected action that just happened between them. She felt bad that she had the guts to slap Junghwa all of a sudden, yet she was more furious of his action to kiss her when she knew that they're nothing more than friends. He has made it clear to herself that she would only see him as a friend from now on, hence she tried to eliminate all the feelings she has for him. Yet, the unexpected kiss he gave her almost made her forget that his heart is yearning for someone else, which only made her feel more heartbroken. Just the tiny burst of beauty from it was all faded at the realization that he still missed her cousin.
"Just....don't do it again," Ara says in a low tone, slowly she finally pulls herself away from Junghwa's embrace. Yet, her gaze still remains at the ground, since she didn't have the courage to face his eyes at this point.
Junghwa stood in silence as he sees Ara staring at the ground. His heart starts to sink deeper at the sight of her looking sad, which was the caused of his action. He wanted to punch himself right now for letting his impulsive desire get the best of him, yet knew that the regret couldn't really change their awkward situation now. He thought, the only thing he could do right now at this point, is just give her some space.
"It's getting late. Let me drive you back home," Junghwa says.
"Ok," Ara answers in a flat tone. Her vision still stares at the ground.
A few hours later...
10 PM...
At Zach's house...
After a quick warm shower, Zach lies down on his bed, looking all set for bedtime with his black tank top and white pajama pants. After returning from Matt's place, he had dinner with his parents before doing all his homeworks, and now finally to get some shut eyes before another day of school.
As Zach begins to close his eyes, suddenly the thought of a familiar female figure came crossing in his mind. Her long shiny black hair and lovely almond eyes caught his attention at first sight, though he never thought he would find himself falling more and more for her, not only for her beautiful look, yet for her charming personality, and lovely heart.
Flashback...
At school...
"Zach!"
Zach turns his head as he sees a girl in pigtails running towards him. Full of excitement, the girl almost lost her breath after running.
"Ara, woah what's up with the running?" Zach asks in confusion, wondering about what could've made the girl run so fast with excitement.
"I got a surprise," Ara says with an excited tone.
"What is it?" Zach asks.
Hearing Zach's question, Ara pulls out a small yellow paper from her skirt's pocket. Zach raises his left eyebrow out of confusion of the small paper in Ara's hand, in which he has no idea about.
"My mom got me two tickets to watch Julia Park live on stage," Ara says with a happy tone.
"Wow, that's good," Zach says, also with a happy tone hearing that his best friend is gonna go see her favorite Korean-American artist live on stage.
"Yeah right. And you know what makes it better?" Ara asks.
"No. What? What could be more better than seeing Julia eonnie on live stage?" Zach asks.
Ara smiles. "I got two tickets, and one is for you. We're gonna go to Jill's concert together!"
Like getting good news on a fine morning, Zach's thin lips suddenly forms a big smile as his brown eyes widens with joy. He wanted to pinch himself believing that what he heard was a dream. He couldn't believe that Ara had invited him to watch their favorite singer of all time together.
"What? No way, I mean...wow, I-"
"Yes way, do I have to pinch you Sungho so that you know this is true?" Ara asks in a sassy manner.
Hearing that, Zach's lips couldn't stop smiling at his best friend who is holding two tickets to watch Jill Park's concert. He was touched by Ara's act of inviting him to watch a concert with her, which made him feel both grateful and overjoy.
"Wow. Thank you, Kim Ara," Zach says.
"Don't mention," Ara says. "We're both fans of Jill eonnie, and what better way than to enjoy a good concert along with a friend?"
"You got that right," Zach says with his thin lips still smiling.
End of flashback...
Remembering the sweet little moment he had with Ara back when they wete younger, Zach couldn't help but smiles as he stares at his ceilings. Realizing now that all this time, his relationship with Ara has always been sweet like sugar, tinkles a part in his heart to believe that she would eventually fall for him after her healing journey.
Kim Ara....I know you'll get over all of this. Just remember, no matter what, I'll always be by your side. Zach thought.
To be continue...
