Chapter 38

Ara's POV...
I slowly turn my head to face Junghwa, my heart still feeling embarassed after what just happened. Yet, at this point I feel like I already lost in the game of emotions, which he defeated in all parts. Mind as well just face the reality, with a bit of curiousity in my heart regarding his words just now, though I'm not too excited.
"I...I never expected it coming," Junghwa says.
I sigh, while slowly pulling my hand away from the bed and placing it on my lap. I wish I had the energy to slap him right in the face right now, for being so damn insensitive. But well, it was also my fault to fall for a clueless guy like him.
"How come though?" Junghwa asks, again, he sounds in between clueless and almost seems like he's an idiot.
"How come? Is that even a proper question to ask about feelings?" I ask him in a slightly higher yet exhausted tone. I didn't let out my usual sassiness since both my heart and energy had been drained.
"It just happened without a warning," I add.
Hearing my answer, Junghwa didn't let out a single letter. Instead, he chose to remain silent with his gaze looking down. For me, it was a bit surprising to see this side of Junghwa, which I felt like it's not even him I'm seeing right now. I thought that the sight of him being depressed after his break-up was surprising enough, but it turned out that tonight, he showed me a much more suprising side of him. Tonight, he looked like he's showing his most vulnerable side. Again, my heart feels like it's being stabbed slowly when I took the chance to stare at him for a moment, yet the tears in my eyes had stopped running down, maybe since the heart has been too exhausted to cry out more tears. Looking at him all sad and feeling blue myself, I just want to end this night quickly.
Without a word, I get up from my seat, I was about to take some steps and turn around and tell him that it's time to go home, when I suddenly feel strong grip on my arm, pulling me with strenght as I turn my body around as I let my body fall into Junghwa's sudden embrace, while sitting on his lap. His hands tightly hugs my small body, as I begin to soak in all the deep feelings I tried to forget. A tear slowly slide down my eyes, like a shock of reality that all this time, I'm only pretending to forget him, when he has always been in my heart. Still there, like always.
Both of us didn't say a word, instead we only cherish this moment with having each others arms wrapped around tightly to one another. Slowly, he pulls away a bit where our eyes meet, where he begins to lean forward. My heart starts racing fast like a car in a race, and despite the dancing butterflies inside of me, I didn't push him away or did I try to avoid him getting closer. I chose to close my eyes in this moment and let everything flow, where I finally felt a pair of soft lips on mine. This time, nothing's fighting back the sensation of it, as this time I'm fully giving myself into this kiss, and just getting lost in the moment.
Saturday...
11:30 AM...
At Dalton's Car Wash...
"Well, Brother, you really impressed me this time," Zach says as he continues to wipe the car he just finished washing.
"What got you so impressed?" Junghwa asks while wiping the back part of the car.
"You arrived here on your first earlier than me. It's a miracle my uncle didn't yell at my face for my lack of time management," Zach says un a rather cheesy tone.
"Well, self-alarm got activated when you're excited," Junghwa says.
"Haha, yeah. That excitement is like the feeling of kissing your favorite girl," Zach states.
Hearing Zach's cheesy statement, the thought of the kiss with Ara suddenly came across Junghwa's mind, making him feel a tinkling feeling in his heart. Yet, he tried to ignore feelings and thoughts with a chuckle, while reminding himself to stay focus on the job.
"By the way, Ara insisted that she pay us a visit today," Zach suddenly adds.
"Wait, she knew that we're gonna be here today?" Junghwa asks as he gets up to put the cloth that was used to wipe the car away.
"I told her in advance," Zach says. "Just wanted to share the good news."
Again, Ara's name starts to dance inside Junghwa's head. He figured it to be a bit odd that her name has been stuck in his head for a while, without him having any intentions of it. After he found about her confession letter, he noticed that there's been an awkward tention between them after, and other than that, she had been running around in his head for some times, which kind of surprised him.
"Hey, Zach!"
Junghwa turns his head as he noticed Zach walking up to the girl who just called out his name. Of course, the voice was familiar enough to caught his attention. From a distance, he can see Ara standing in front of Zach face to face, with her hands holding a small tote bag. Not wanting to miss some possible "tea", Junghwa walks up to his two friends, who are now seem to be giggling at one another.
"I'll have to wait till I get a car after high school so I can hangout here often," Ara says in a sassy tone.
"Don't have to wait too long since you can hangout here whenever you want," Zach states.
"Well, but if I can't bring a car here, the least I could do is bring you lunch," Ara says as she takes a lunch box out from her tote bag.
"By the way, I made some tteokbokki for you," Ara says as she hands the lunch box to Zach.
"Aww, thanks. You didn't have to though," Zach says as he accepts the lunch box from Ara's hand.
As Junghwa walks up to the two teenagers, he instantly caught both of their attentions. He stares at Zach for a short moment, before shifting his gaze to Ara, while looking into her eyes deeply.
"Junghwa! Just in time. Ara brought us homemade tteokbokki," Zach says in a chill manner.
"Oh, thanks, Ara," Junghwa says in a rather awkward tone, as his vision quickly gaze away from Ara to the tote bag she's holding.
"No problem," Ara answers, her vision fully avoiding any eye contact with Junghwa.
Zach noticed the awkward tention between his two friends, and though he found it to be rather odd, he didn't want to think too much and quickly shift any wondering thoughts in his head. For now, he's happy enough to get a job along with his best friend, and to be visited by his crush on the first day of work was already good enough for him.
9:40 PM...
At Ara's place....
Ara is peacefully lying on her bed while listening to some K-Pop songs on her phone. Though she's not too well in speaking Korean, she had grew up with a thick Korean culture in her family, in which she grew to love more and more. Other than Korean food, the girl could say that she is fond of all things Korean related, such as songs and TV dramas.
As Ara continues to listen to the songs, her phone suddenly rings, causing the song she was playing to paused, instantly ruined her peaceful mood. Annoyed, she grab the phone from her bed to see who could be calling on a peaceful Saturday night. To her surprise, she sees Junghwa's name displaying on her phone screen, signaling that he is the one who's calling.
"Hello," Ara answers the phone.
