Chapter 41

A few hours later...
At the cafeteria...
"No way, girl," Grace says before she lazily takes a bite of her egg sandwhich. Of course, after hearing the news regarding Peter and Bianca, she had lost her appetite.
"Come on, Grace. It's just a small surprise that Zach and I already prepared for," I say.
"We got school tomorrow so I won't be celebrating anything on a Monday night," Grace says. "Of course, unless it's a celebration that those two broke up."
Ara sighs. From the way Grace said her words, she could tell just from her tone that her friend here is really upset about Peter and Bianca. She knew well how Grace really loved Peter back then, so the break-up was a really big crush to her heart. She didn't want Grace to remain in her sad era. By that, she wanted to cheer her up even if it means partying on a Monday night.
"Let's say it's just a quick drink and after that we can go back and do our homeworks," Ara states.
"Like we even have the ability to do that after 3 shots," Grace says.
"Come on, Grace. The least you could do is just let me show how fun this could be," Ara says. "Besides, how did you know this would involve alcohol?"
"Because I know you too well, Kim Ara, and you know me too well," Grace states.
Ara smiles shyly. "Oh come on, Grace."
Grace pauses for a moment. She hesitated with the idea, yet she knew that Ara's intention is caring that she only wanted to cheer her up in a moment of sadness. She felt lucky to have a friend like Ara, and for a second thought that maybe a night out to make her forget about Peter and Bianca might not be so bad. At least, if she could still do her homeworks after.
"Ok, but I won't get too drunk though. Remember we have homeworks waiting," Grace says, her lips now forming a small smile.
"Of course," Ara says with a smile.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Zach, Junghwa, and Matt are having lunch together. Ara had told Junghwa and Matt about tonight's surprise for Grace, and the two agreed to join the fun.
"So it's tonight?" Matt asks.
"Yes," Zach says. "Of course we would still need to control ourselves for tomorrow."
"Haha, yeah man," Junghwa says.
Thinking about Ara's plan of a night out to cheer Grace up tonight, Zach also felt excited just by the thoughts of it. He's both happy and excited about Ara's positive vibes regarding the surprise, yet he's also excited knowing that this means he gets to spend some time with her tonight. Of course, along with their other friends.
A few hours later...
8:15 PM...
At Vivid's Vibe (Lounge and Bar)...
The blasting sounds of hip-hop music can be heard clearly through the giant sound systems. Though it's not too crowded on a Monday night, a night in Vivid would always make one feel like every night is a party without having to worry about the next day. Some people can still be seen dancing inside the bar, acting as if they don't have any worries for tomorrow, and that their desire is to only party for tonight.
"Hey, it's trio," Matt says as he watches Zach, Ara, and Grace approaching him and Junghwa.
"Sorry that I ran late," Zach says as he gives both Matt and Junghwa high fives.
"Don't sweat it, Zach. Besides, I knew you needed to wait for the ladies," Junghwa says in a rather playful tone as his gaze shifts to Ara, in which she roll her eyes.
"Yeah right. We're not that slow, Hwang Junghwa," Ara states in a sassy tone.
"Hey, I was just joking," Junghwa says. "Besides you girls look great."
"Thanks, Jay," Grace says with a smile, while Ara just stood in silence with her cheeks suddenly turning red. They didn't quite go over the top tonight with their looks, yet Ara was happy enough that Junghwa actually thought she looked good. She only decided to went with a black tank top and some skinny navy jeans, while Grace just went with a white crop top and denim skirt.
"Ok, enough with all the talking and let's start this party," Zach says as he raises his glass of wine, making all his friends to grab their glasses to start their drinking party.
"Cheers for tonight," Ara says in a high tone, before taking a one shot of her glass of wine.
As their little celebration goes on, the teenagers continue to drink while dancing and simply joking with another. Most of the attention, of course is focused on Grace since Ara wanted this to be a night for her to have fun. Despite feeling blue at first, Grace eventually felt better and found herself dancing happily as the music continues to play.
An hour later...
Zach is standing in the corner of the bar, smoking some cigarettes alone as the others continue to dance and drink. He thought he was already feeling the affect from all the drinks, and thought he should stop and calm down with some cigarettes. Though he doesn't usually smoke, he wouldn't say that he wouldn't do it all the time.
"Hey, thanks for helping me out tonight. Grace is feeling a lot better," Ara says as she approaches Zach who is in the middle of sipping his cigarette.
"No problem," Zach says. "It's a fun night."
Ara smiles. "Well, I'm just glad that Grace is better now. Again, thanks."
"Hey, enough with the thanks and just party already," Zach says in a cheesy manner, before he takes another sip of his cigarettes.
"I've drank too much shots. Add more I wouldn't be able to do my homeworks," Ara says as she walks to stand beside Zach.
"So you smoke?" Ara asks. For what she remembered, this is the first time she sees Zach smoking.
"Yeah, but not often. I only do it when I need it," Zach states.
"I see," Ara says. "My dad used to smoke back when he was younger. He eventually stopped after my mom told him three years ago that it's about time since he is only getting older."
"Wow, that's good," Zach says. "Maybe I would also need your help to help me stop."
Hearing that, Ara couldn't help but form a small laugh. In a quite tipsy state, she found Zach's words to be smooth yet cheesy at the same time. Yet, her reaction wasn't really what Zach had expected. Under the shinning lights as the music continues to play, staring at Ara who looks lovely as usual, Zach wasn't satisfy to know that the girl still takes his from-the-heart statements as if their just playful jokes. He would always be irritated whenever she only sees him as a friend, but tonight, his heart definitely felt more chaotic after seeing her response. He wanted her to see him as the man with serious words as he is, and not just a boy who's good with sweet words.
"Alexa," Zach calls Ara by her English name, in hopes to get her full attention, in which she did.
"Yes, what is it?" Ara asks, her gaze slightly looked a bit more serious this time. Inside her head, she is wondering about what Zach has in mind that he called her by her English name.
Slowly, Zach walks up to Ara. He stood right in front of her, where their brown eyes met. Under the sparkling lights, Zach let his vision get lost in Ara's twinkling gaze, which he always found to look more beautiful everytime.
"Sungho, what is it?" Ara asks. This time, she's trying to get more of his attention by calling him by his Korean name.
Without any answer, Zach slowly leans his face closer to Ara, closing the small inches in between their faces. Ara's heart begins to beat faster as she suddenly feels nervous at Zach's sudden action, little did she know that he's also feeling the same thing.
"I'll tell you again and again, Kim Ara. I want you to take me seriously," Zach says. "I like you."
Before Ara could answer, she suddenly feels a pair of soft lips touch hers, before entering a sweet yet passionate kiss as the music continues to play loudly through out the bar. Surprised yet lost due to the effect from the alcohol, Ara didn't fight back and just stood in silence as Zach kisses with full of passion, feeling grateful that he is able to express his deepest feelings tonight to her girl he loves.
To be continue...
