Chapter 35 REASON NOW OR LOOSE HIM

Desmond's mother, Catherina rushed into the hospital, tensed. Her darting eyes swiftly searched around as she shuffles through the quiet corridors of the hospital– her breath rose and fell rapidly. "Martin?– where is he? Where is Desmond? " She howled just when she noticed him. He instinctively stuttered in a heavy breath, hugging her in the process.
" Mum, you're here " His teary eyes traveled to the ward as he redrew from the hug. " He's still in the emergency ward." He cried.
Catherine paced to the door with a blank gaze
" So what are the doctors saying?" She queried.
" Nothing yet, mum" He sobbed.
Catherina spontaneously hugged him as she gently patted his back, consolingly.
" Calm down, dear. Let's keep praying." She uttered amidst tears.
" Mum?"
" Huh?" Catherine answered.
" Hope he'll make it alive?– I don't want him to die"
Martin stated with a devastating gaze. Catherine sighed with a forced smile.
" Don't talk like that, Martin–Desmond will surely survive, okay?"
" Okay." He nodded with tears running down his cheeks. Just then, he heard his phone ring. He automatically glanced at the caller but ignored it, dropping it back on the seat.
Catherine stared at him with a furrowed brow. She gently tapped him on the shoulder.
" Hey, Martin, who was it and why didn't you pick up?"
He smiled, his nose pinched. " Never mind, mum...It's Loretta, our classmate. I'll call her back later."
" No dear, I think you should answer that now, okay?– Maybe something is up" She insisted. He didn't want to but couldn't object as well.
Martin glanced at her for a while and nodded in response. I'll be right back then" He smiled, moving a distance away from Catherina. She gazed at him for a while and sat back on the bench, nervous.
" Hello, Lore – What is it? Why are you calling at this time?" He asked.
" Um...actually, I wanted to know Desmond's whereabout." She stuttered. " I've been calling his line but to no avail. Is he with you?" She added, pretending to have no idea of what had happened.
He involuntary let out a faint sigh. "Um– the thing is, Desmond was attacked by an unknown guy while trying to save Gisella and had been rushed to the hospital. He's kind of in a bad state now "
" What!" She howled. " When?– How did it happen? No, I mean, which hospital. I'm coming over right away." She exclaimed.
" No, don't worry, Lore– I'm here with him. He's ---" He went on but was swiftly drawn by Mrs. Catherine's voice at the back.
" Hello, doctor– How is my son?" She asked. Martin hurriedly answered Loretta in a single breath.
" Sorry, Lore, I got to go now." He uttered and hanged up, rushing back to Catherine's side.
" Yes, doctor, how is he?", he added.
The doctor instinctively let out a sigh. "Not so good, ma'am. He lost a lot of blood and suffered a lot of bruises–We've tried out best. " He announced. "He's still in a coma now. We don't know how long he'll stay like that but if he doesn't gain consciousness soon, we might lose him "
Catherine involuntary stepped back; she gasped with wide eyes and her hands over her mouth. Her voice trembled. "Oh no– No, doctor, please, help me" She cried. "Please, save my son for me. He's all I've got, please."
She sobbed. The doctor let out a heavy sigh as he held her shoulders and comforted her.
" I know ma'am and I understand how you feel but there's nothing we can do now. It'll take a miracle for him to wake up. Let's keep praying." He mumbled.
" I'll have to leave now. I need to attend to other patients. You can go in and see him. Call me when anything pops up" He added and stormed off.
All along, Gisella stared from the distance as she stood in front of her ward in a wheelchair, listening. The tears in her eyes trembled down her cheeks. She quietly turned her wheelchair and rolled back Into her ward, shuttering.
Just when she got in, she roared in tears, thumping down anything she came across.
" No, no– Desmond!!" She howled. "You can't leave now, wake up, please, wake up." She screamed, wrapping her arms around her droopy body.
" You better reason now, weakling– or you'll lose him as well" A voice called fro. behind. She instinctively turned towards whoever it was. It was a girl from the cemetery.
" What should I do now– Tell me, I'm ready to do anything to save him, please." She cried without further thoughts or hesitation and the girl smiled.
" Look deep within yourself, honey– You'll know what to do." She answered and vanished from there.
THE ANTONIO'S MANSION
Natasha got of her car and stormed into the house, literally burning up with rage.
" Welcome, ma'am." Lizzy greeted as she approached from the kitchen while Natasha strolled up the stairs.
She suddenly paused, swiftly turning towards Lizzy with dark, glowing eyes, glaring at her. "Get out of my sight," she shouted.
Lizzy shivered and trembled in fear which made her fall to the floor. Without a change in demeanor, Natasha dashed off into her room, changed into a new cloth, and sped out of the house again.
HOSPITAL
" Have you checked on the patient in ward 425? " The doctor queried, approaching from his office.
" No, sir, I'm yet to– I'll be attending to her shortly. I had to see the patient in ward 14 before hers." A nurse at the counter explained.
" Alright, go now and report to me– I'll be in my office."
" Okay, sir" She answered and strolled off to Gisella's ward. Berta slowly opened the door and trod in.
" Good evening, Gisella– How're you feeling now?" She queried, looking down on the tray of medicine in her hand but had no response.
She instinctively raised her head towards the bed to find out the reason behind her silence but found no one there; just an empty bed.
" where could she be?" She muttered as she searched around but found no trace of her.
" Oh my God, She's gone" She gasped. "Doctor!– Doctor!, Gisella is gone." She cried, rushing out of the ward in a hast.

I don't know what should I say. It's a very nice story combined with sad and real struggle in this life. Everytime the characters in this story experienced sadness, my tears dropped onto my cheeks, come in feeling what they feel. Just a little bit fix for grammar and error spelling words written and it would be great story I have ever read. Keep in spirit for the writer in order to continue writing other great stories.
